Only a few positives but worth noting: location is great, the view on the beach is amazing and the rooftop is very good On the negative, this is not a 4-star hotel. I read in other comments that it was run-down and somewhat dirty but I didn’t expect it to be that bad! The room was very old, carpet was dirty and smelly, bed sheets and mostly towels were dirty and stained. Clearly the room has never been renovated since it opened. The AC was very loud and the windows didn’t close, you could hear everything from outside. There was an awful continuous noise when turning on the lights in the bathroom. At some point we didn’t have any water running. They do not offer slippers, you have to pay for them. WiFi is quite bad and is in and out Breakfast was horrible! Very cheap, they do not even clean the tables in between clients. We go there, stayed 5 minutes then ran away (fortunately there’s a very nice cafe that does great pastries not too far - Cafe Ao Leu) In summary, this is absolutely not worth the price but if you don’t care about the room and breakfast and you only want very nice views then that’ll do.

Amazing view of Cococabana beach and the strip but the room had a few defects - leak in the bathroom, runner on wardrobe wasn't working. There was also major renovations underway from 8am every day which we weren't told about so when in the room during the day there was constant drilling and hammering. Reception staff weren't bothered when we mentioned it.

The breakfast is free which make it nice when your on vacation. The fruit and bread was fresh but usually anything that had to with hot, wasn't. The sliders do have a problem being sealed which is normal for Brazil where ever you go. So on the Ocean side you will here the traffic and waves even when we were on the 9 floor.

I have used the Rio Othon Palace 1-2 times per year over the last 30 years. Great location, great staff, great service everywhere. It has gone thru a series of remodeling. Now the lobby bar is very inviting, the rooftop pool is being redesigned and the sketches look great. I am already planning my next trip. Obrigado, Othon Palace

Fantastic hotel directly across from Copa Beach.Ie room had an incredible view of and was spacious. The Bathroom was well appointed. The Breakfast was top notch. I was The staff was extremely helpful and hospitable. I was Our only disappointment was was that the pool and top floor Restaurant were not open because of renovations, but I despite being told via email that it would be completed before our arrival date. W That That would have been icing on our stay had it been opened. I was Regardless, I we probably will stay there again in the future. I I highly recommend The Othon Palace Hotel.

The only good thing is the location but the hotel looks old and dirty from the reception couches through the rooms. When we received the room it was not cleaned properly, the room has no iron, if you want to iron clothes you have to pay. Never got the upgrade benefit and the receptionist let us know if we wanted the room earlier than the check in time we had to pay more. The hotel doesnt value the price, we do not recommend it.

Hotel is good. Great breakfast. Staff needs more training when dealing with guests and people visiting us when we are staying at the hotel. The decor and overal condition of the hotel is very poor. It needs a major update everywhere.

From the moment of check in Carla and Wellington were very welcoming. They gave us details on the hotel and potential issues from the on going renovations. We did not experience any of these issues. The hotel service all around is amazing. Breakfast was good. And higher recommend. Thanks for the hospitality and making us feel safe and like home. We wi come back again.

Excellent facility located in the heart of Copacabana Beach. 5 stars staff. Received a free very early check in (8:30 AM) and I really appreciate it because my flight from Miami landed 6:35 AM. The free breakfast menu has a wide variety of delicious food. Will repeat, sure will recommend to friends and colleagues

It was raining at the time we entered the Rio Othon and were introduced to Adauto our concierge and everything seemed brighter. My wife and I were very impressed with his professionalism and natural courtesy. Our ocean front room was on the 26th floor and the view spectacular. The staff in the Skylab were exceptional for both breakfast and evening meals. Kim wanted to say thank you to the ladies there who filled her travel bottle each day with water. I’ve already recommended this hotel to friends who are planning a visit. Adauto my friend if you’re ever in Calgary, please do not hesitate to visit us. Thank you again.

The hotel is at a perfect location, in front of the beach. Gender staff were cordial and friendly, and willing to help in any way. The SPA was a great disappointment. I was schedule for a 2 hrs massage; and it finished at 1:15pm, with tea, and at 1:30 pm, an older female worker asked us to finished because they had to clean the room for their next appointment. Basically, they owe me 30minutes of service. In addition, even though they knew Spanish or English, they spoke in Portuguese among themselves regarding the time issues, etc. I would not recommend the SPA to anyone,
