Apparently, the boiler was out but no one bothered to call us or let us know ahead of time of the situation. We arrived to a space heater in the room but were freezing. Had to wear a parka into the bathroom. The second night we requested a second space heater but it was still not quite enough. We asked for a more definitive solution and they moved us to their sister motel which had heating. The customer service after the fact was great, but wished they had apprised us of the situation beforehand and offered us the move sooner as it was freezing!!!

Loved my stay! Was located on the 5th floor and the view was great! Happy to have access to elevator and free parking! The only thing that I disliked were the pillows. They were really flat.

Got there just after check in time and was greeted nicely and put in a room with lake views even though I didnt pay for the upgrade. Everyone in the staff was nice and friendly. We had a great stay and many restaurants were very close by within 500 feet of the hotel. I will go again at some time.

The room was clean however the bed was flat and stale same with the bedding and pillows. The room does not have air conditioning nor a fan. If you leave the window open you will hear the traffic. Great location and clean room though. If they would just updated the bed and bedding.

This place is a low end but expensive motel not worthy of even an overnight stay. There is one broken elevators for staff and guests for several floors and you can hear a very loud boiler room noise right under your bed. It was impossible to get any sleep. No breakfast is included in the price and you need to wal to a restaurant to get breakfast for $20 per person. Add this to your cost. Shower shoots had of its water to the ceiling in a tight shower space.

Overall, would definitely come back. The location is unbelievable and staff was so friendly. Only grief was the older feel room and no air conditioning (which I knew about ahead of time).

First of all no AC at all....Thank god I gravelled in early sep not sure about anyone who travels between May to Aug...2 queen bed but only 1 table fan. The front desk has not even shared the wifi details as part of check in checklist. The cleaning lady entered in our room before we checked out. The bathing shower has very low pressure. The front desk lady was too talketive. Lastly I was overcharged on my credit card as compare to my booking amount.

Great location - very convenient, room was fine, but there is a lot of noise from the traffic going by. Also, the wall in the bathroom and below the sink was in need of some repair.

We had an excellent stay at peppertree. We were not looking for an eye and resort-like experience, but a convenience comfortable place to spend the night for one night. It surpassed our expectations based on other reviews. We planned it well and got the texting between the staff and us where we could communicate well and checked in in the hours that there was staff at the hotel. We were up on the 5th floor which had a beautiful view. It was very quiet convenient to some great lakeside places and at night we had no noise of any kind and a comfortable stay. It was a perfect stay for us. Communication was also great.

Would love to see it updated. Carpet needed cleaning. Even with a fan room was very warm. Could use new pillows. Need a sleep timer. Great view. Excellent stafff!! Everything you need is near!

it seems like they’re doing the absolute bare minimum, the heater in my room doesn’t work even though the lows at night we’re in the 30’s during our stay! we were freezing and attempted to get extra blankets multiple times but couldn’t get ahold of anyone. there are only a few hours a day when there is an actual staff person on the site so if your keys stop working, you need extra things, or just need assistance in general there is no one around to help! the carpets are stained, the wall paper is peeling off and there is no extra chain lock on the doors.

The sheets had burn holes and the blankets were ripped. Bathroom shower needs to be redone. The room wasn't horrible and ok for a night stay but I wouldn't recommend unless there was nothing else available. Pros it is really close to the Lake and has a nice view if your room is in the tower. Close to the Fat Cat which had yummy food

Pepper Tree Inn is a step above a regular motel. Its location is perhaps its best feature as you can see the Lake Tahoe from your window (if located on a high floor). The rooms are clean, although the bathrooms need remodeling. We did not interact with the staff since they have limited on-site presence but communicated via text and they were excellent in responding to our needs.

View from 7th floor (outside front door) looking towards Lake Tahoe was super, must be the tallest building in Tahoe City! Freddy in office very knowledgeable and nice, we enjoyed talking to him about history of area.

The room was fine. We were not informed that there was night construction going on right outside our room. Jackhammering lasted from 8pm-midnight. Backup alarms and equipment was running until 6am and we did not get much sleep. With the hotel would have informed us of the construction and giving us earplugs.
