I checked into a cabana suite for a 4 night stay. Neither of the AC units did not work properly in the room. The unit by the bed won't turn on and the one behind the couch won't turn off till you turn it off, and reset the circuit breaker, no matter what the thermostat is set at. The shower floor and glass doors needed cleaning. The TV kept turning off at random intervals on the first night. Hard to understand the assistant behind the desk at club cortez. She gave the instructions too fast and was not welcoming at all. The meal service at Seigels was much better at the breakfast I had on the 2nd day of my visit, than the dinner service on my first night. The food was excellent though. Overall, you can't beat its location or the effort they've made to preserve its original feel and appearance. I got great service from the valet staff with assisting me with Uber. There wasn't enough lighting in the suite or outlets. If I return to Vegas, I would be willing to stay here again, but I would stay in the tower and not the cabana suites. Its location makes it worth the price if you want to explore downtown and things around Fremont St.

Close to Freemont st but away 10km from Strip main attractions. Hotel is good , parking is close . In general was good.

Falsely accused of smoking in a nonsmoking room. The $300 charge was lifted, but only after the accusation ruined the trip home and led to 12 hours of anger/frustration. It reminded me of when housekeeping stole roughly $1,000 from the money envelope in my bag a couple of years ago. A good deal from hotels.com was the only reason I stayed again. I have three free nights in December, and that will be the last of my interaction with the Cortez, which used to be my favorite hotel by far.

I really enjoy this hotel. Access is easy...parking is easy...staff is friendly...rooms are comfortable...close to Freemont St....The El Cortez is always my first choice for a Vegas Vacation.

The El Cortez is an historic property that’s been completely remodeled recently. The prices are reasonable, and the rooms are gorgeous. Staying downtown is much cheaper and relaxed than the strip, and transportation to and from the strip is easy and fast.

Was great except the room had the noise from the club across the street. It sounded like you were in the club. I quiet until 2 or 3 in the morning. Hotel should warn people who are in those rooms.

The room smelled like old must and the shower curtain is too short for the walk-in shower so there was water everywhere after the shower was done

Check in was easy and a parking garage with valet service is offered. The room was very nice, it looked modern and updated. Slightly deceiving as we pulled the covers back and hair was found in both beds and two pillow cases were covered in makeup. Do not think the sheets were changed between guests.

It was a nice little room. The only thing I didn't like was if check out is at 12pm and I had a do not disturb sign out then why did we have housekeeping knocking then open the door at 10am ? I had the lock on top so she couldn't open it but hello!!!!???

Old and dinge. Dirty and smelt like smoke and its a smokefree room. Bed broken, toilet wobbles. Only 1 roll of toilet papers. Floor was tasty! Elevators took forever and we got stuck a few times!

I booked a non-smoking room and was put into a smoking room. The people next-door must’ve just gotten out of prison. They were partying all night had to call security twice to get them to shut up the whole place smelled of smoke. The rooms felt like I was in a prison with a wire windows

I arrived due to an overlay and was informed that the hotel has a shuttle to the airport. I reached out to the hotel to confirm but once I checked in. I requested to schedule a shuttle and was informed that they start at 7am, which was very unfortunate since I had to be at the airport at 5am. This made my trip/stay very frustrated and inconvenienced.

Everything was very nice, everyone friendly and we were comfortable. Our only issue was noise from the club. Music was booming till almost 4 AM. That was the only issue. I would stay there again.

Check-in was fast, easy no issues. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The property does need updating, but for location and price, it was what I expected considering this is an older hotel. I wish they had put a brighter bulb in the bathroom because it was dim while taking a shower. The room was clean, but the hallways did need mor upkeep, but it is an open-air hallway, so it is going to get dusty. Also, since the rooms are non-smoking, I guess guests were smoking outside of their rooms in the hallway and you could smell the smoke. once you exited the elevator. Mu only complaint was noise. I could hear loud music (weekday it ended at 10P, but on Saturday it continued until 2A). If I return, I will request an interior room because it did keep me awake during that one night.

This hotel is everything we needed for our stay, and we loved the "old Vegas vibe" it encompasses. Not having long lines is a huge bonus when getting Starbucks or dinner (the restaurant has great food), and the staff were all very friendly & accommodating. The only downside was the loud music thumping into the early morning hours (3:00am) from a nearby establishment when trying to sleep. Maybe it was just our room location, but overall our stay was great!

We called the front desk on Wednesday TWICE for a working hair dryer and they said they would send one up. Never showed up. Called again next day and finally had to go get one for my wife’s hair

Stayed the Cabana Suites. The safe didn't work, reported it straight away still waiting for it to be repaired on the day we left. Room wasn't the cleanest but had clean towels and fresh bedding every day. Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall had a good time .

We stayed a couple of days in a Tower Room at the end of a weeklong road trip, and it was fantastic! The room was huge and clean, and the included in-and-out parking was so convenient for trips to Hoover Dam, the Strip, and other areas. An easy walk to the Fremont Street Experience with tons of dining and entertainment options, and a Starbucks right by the elevator in the morning. Perfect.

I love El Cortez. Very laid back old school vibe. Great food at the restaurants, very helpful polite staff and I won on the slots a lot making it even more fun. The rooms are basic and simple but theu are clean affordable. The maid staff was awsome and helpful. As a smoker I love the open air hallways so i can step outside my room and have a smoke anytime i want. This is my second stay at El Cortez and I will for sure be going back.

Very cool and vintage spot in Downtown Vegas right by Fremont. I didnt realize El Cortez has the largest selection of coin-operated slots left in all of the Strip! The Original 47 room we stayed in was very quaint and comfortable.

Overall stay was good. However airport shuttle is only for drop off at the airport..not pickup. Service is only from 7am to 2 or 3 pm. I didn’t see anything anywhere that said that and I initially chose this hotel for airport transfer. I had to get a Lyft to and from the airport because they don’t pick up at the airport and I needed to be at the airport by 6:30 am. They don’t start there service until 7 am.

Multiple different people’s hair all over the bathroom in my room and bed bugs. It was obvious they do not clean the floors or the shower after guests check out. There were stains on the bed cover and sheets, stains on the carpet and the room smelled like mold. Without a doubt the most disgusting hotel room I’ve ever stepped foot in. I actually changed my flight so I could leave at the crack of dawn and ended up staying out as late as I could before heading to the airport to avoid being in the room. There was a dead bed bug underneath the glass cover on the night stand. Welcome to El Cortez!
