Hotel and restaurant stand out for quality and value. For a long weekend getaway with great food, great wines, cultural historic town close by, the Hirschen in Lehen is a favourite not only for us. The rooms are not luxurious, but they are very comfortable, quiet, very clean and great value for money. I don't need to write more, I suggest you try it for yourself.

Excellent Hotel, amazing Service! This hotel was a great choice for a short trip to Freiburg. Friendly staff, great restaurant and food, amazing wellness area. I would recommend this place if you want to have a little getaway and need a place to stay close to Freiburg.

For the price and the 4 star I had higher expectations, the sauna area Is not so nice , no opportunity to relax outside as is directly next to a garage. The room with Terrasse is just two table in a grass directly next to the next room… but the staff was nice and friendly and the restaurant has very good food although is also expensive.

We stayed in a suite so the room was very spacious. Room service was very prompt. Breakfast was great. The food at the hotel's restaurant was excellent. Parking is a little challenging as the spaces are tight. Reception was very accommodating.

Stayed here for a couple of days as a stopover. Nice hotel, recently renovated with friendly staff. Excellent restaurant in the garden with attentive staff and great food.

difficult to be critical.service,food,garden,pool were all excellent. location close to tram stop, so getting into central Freiburg was simple and cheap. we were able to keep the car in the shaded garage, and use the pool after check out,(it was 38 degrees!) we would be happy to use again if visiting the area

Very big and nice room. Overall I recommend this hotel. It is ok if you have a car. No coffee machine at the room and not even complementary water. It was nice that they give us free parking.

The Hotel Hirschen is a very nice hotel and so conveniently located close to the motorway. It is also quite easy to get to the city center. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is extremely quiet. We extended our stay by two nights and the manager was very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and the staff could not have been nicer. We got great suggestions of things to do from the front desk staff. We highly recommend the hotel.

The room was very nice and spacious. There is a nice parking garage on site. No English channels on the tv. The restaurant was ok, not as good as I thought it would be after reading other reviews and was overpriced.

We had a pleasant one night stay at the hotel. It was our first trip as a family of 4. My toddler loved the rooms. We ordered room service for dinner as it was easier for us. We were very impressed with the food quality and speed. The breakfast spread was excellent. The only negative thing that was the view outside my room 217. There was some metal construction scaffolding which was quite unsightly. It would have been better to have some plants.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hirschen. Our room was one of our favorites during our extended travels in Germany, France and Switzerland (i.e., a lot of hotels). Our room so spacious and so comfortable. We loved having our breakfast out on the balcony. It was quiet and peaceful throughout our stay. We had dinner one night in the hotels restaurant and it was excellent. The staff was all very friendly and helpful - like when my GPS took me to the back of the hotel vs. the front and it was very confusing given I dont speak German. I appreciate the patience and help in navigating us there, as well as answering all my tired questions. The little town where the hotel is has an excellent pastry shop within walking distance, which is where we grabbed our breakfast as well as a pharmacy for toiletries we needed. I appreciated the on-site parking garage and the close proximity to downtown Freiburg. If ever back in Freiburg, this will be our go-to hotel. Loved it.

Cool and quiet. Everything nice. Wonderful pool and gardens and vast outdoor seating, shade or sun. Dinner and breakfast both super. On a quiet inner parcel just off the main street in a quiet village suburb. Buses and tram for the city a short walk away. Weingut a few doors down. In this case you actually get what you pay for.

Best night of sleep I've had the entire trip! The hotel was immaculate and the staff was so friendly. The restaurant was also great. I was dying for some scrambled eggs and was so happy to see them on the buffet!

Very comfortable with a very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately it was raining during our stay so we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful gardens. We did not have dinner but the breakfast was fantastic and catered for all tastes.We will definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area. As we were travelling through it had easy access to the A5. Highly recommended.

Perfect in so many ways. Excellent room, excellent pool, excellent underground parking, excellent restaurant staff. So, what's wrong? it maybe trivial but it annoyed me that the lady stocking the bar entered the room at the same instant she knocked on the door. She say sorry but I could tell she did not care and I suspect she does it all the time. When I mentioned this to the check-out lady on the following day I had hoped she would say that the matter would refer to management. She even seems to find it semi humours which slightly irritated me. This minor point is annoying, otherwise it is a first rate 4-star hotel in a lovely street.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. It is a midsize hotel and despite the building being old, it is well maintained, tidy & clean. The staff are very friendly & helpful. They were eager to accommodate our needs & requests, such as providing food when we returned late at night after room service was closed. This was done in a friendly and courteous manner. We can recommend this hotel without reserve.

Stayed here so we were able to get to Zurich on the train. The station is a short drive away. We also enjoyed a ride on the Schauinslandbahn. It was quite warm when we were there in September, but the pool was a good place to cool off. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Location is fine, frequent trams into Friedburg a ten minute walk from the hotel. Rooms are tastefully furnished but view from ground floor rooms is onto carpark and nearby residential area, have to keep the blinds closed when in your room. Rooms on other floors have balconies, looked much nicer. Food is good but expensive if you want to eat in the hotel on regular basis. Nearby bakers shop offers pastries and coffees to eat in or takeaway! Staff at hotel were polite and friendly. Almost forgot the outdoor pool! Good place to stay overall but not if you are on a tight budget!

Gorgeous hotel. An absolute surprise for our journey. What a wonderful red carpet entrance experience. We were only there for a night so ate at their restaurant....how beautiful! Sorry we were not able to stay longer.

The public areas in the hotel were better than the room although the bathroom was very nice, bedroom furniture we thought a little cheap for the cost of the accomodation. Well located for access to Freiburg & set in a residential area with a few other gasthauses. Breakfast looked very good (we didn't eat as had a very early start) Staff were pleasant & very efficient as you would expect to find in Germany. Overall would return to the hotel when visiting the area.

This was a fantastic place to stay where the staff were absolutely brilliant. The hotel was 5 minutes walk from the tram stop which was useful because apart from the hotel there wasn't much to do locally. The swimming pool and Gym were almost exclusively ours to use. The breakfasts were fantastic and the staff were unbelievably helpful. I can't wait to go back
