Disappointing at check in then breakfast. Room great clean and comfortable. Great location. Second time breakfast has raised difficulties ie shortage of items customers having to wait. Check in was unfortunate with number of mistakes being made. Hope issues are solved for my next visit planned just after festjve period

It wasn’t a bad stay upon entering the lift it was smelling of cigarettes. The carpets in the room are due for changing but overrall , it was a good stay, staffs were ever smiling and friendly.

Only there one night however room was comfortable with good wi-fi connection and close to the station with town centre a short walk away.

Everything was fine till both lifts broke down. It was a strain at my age climbing 3 floors of stairs. Otherwise no complaints

Always praise this hotel but on this occasion i felt let down. We were put on lower ground floor for dome reason and it was noisy most of the night. Got up went for breakfast and it was chaos, no orange juice had to wait for bacon to be brought out. Went back to room but found people walking around corridor with plates of breakfast, it was getting dropped on corridor carpet. I stay here regularly and always give 5* ive booked again for december and january so i will give it a go see if it improves ....still friendly staff and great location so perhaps a one off lowering if standards

Great hotel great location for shops eateries and transport esp into london. Breakfast an excelkent start to the day. Staff friendly and helpful. Not my first visit wont be my last. Blue badge oarking on site free....other parking over the road in supermarket.

On two occasions we couldnt sleep due to noise.The first night people above us were making too much noise then the next night there was a group in the bar area singing and being too loud. As we were on the ground floor we couldnt go to reception to report this as we felt intimidated by the group. We felt that the reception staff should have spoke to them.

Me and my partner arrived to the hotel and have already booked online but wouldn't let us book In cause one of us didn't have id, but I already paid for the hotel and breakfast and everything and they wouldn't give me a refund!

All was well, within easy reach of public transport and shopping areas. Nice touch of using Dove products in the bathroom. Breakfast was okay, no problems and plenty of choice of hot or cold choices. Only minor gripe was TV kept loosing settings after turning off, had to retune every time.

Perfectly fine. Breakfast limited for anyone who like me has to avoid gluten and oats, even more limited if you were vegetarian or vegan. There was gluten free bread available but it had to be asked for. Maybe there were also gluten free treats to match the buns available to others, and vegetarian or vegan sausages but having to ask for stuff is not the same service as having it available to you.

A dreadful stay. We asked for the sofa bed to be made up and reported to reception when we checked in. We were told that the bed would be made up whilst we were out in the evening. Upon return, the bed still wasn't made up and we were handed bedding and had to make the bed up ourselves. The bar service was also terrible with staff missing out of site. It seems there is a serious lack of management at this hotel. The breakfast was also very poor indeed.

The staff were very friendly though there was a strong smell of smoke in my room. I let reception know though due to the hotel being full they were unable to do anything. The manager said he would come to spray something in my room but, if he did come, there was no noticeable difference. Given I paid £150 a night for my room, I was quite disappointed.

Stayed two nights and from check in to checkout staff were friendly helpful and informative. Breakfast was fantastic and staff kept place clean. Ideal for shops places to eat and transport links..... Room clean ad beds comfortable. Room was cleaned towels changed for second day. Will definately return.. Not our first stay here

We had booked through Hotels.com for a room and breakfast at Holiday Inn Express Stevenage. We received a confirmation email and receipt, but on arrival told no room was booked and sent away. I tried phoning hotel with relevant info but had phone put down. After lunch contacted Hotels.com. On phone until 7.30 p.m. was left holding on for hours, promised room in another hotel. at 6.00 p.m.asked to supply names of local hotels. Finally gave Premier Inn name and address. 6.30 told booking was being made, 7.30 still holding on running out of charge. cut off no one came back. Telephoned Premier Inn told they had rooms, booked all within a couple of minutes. My first review was with held, I hope this one is allowed, I need a refund plus £20 for extra cost and having to pay for breakfast. This is how Hotels.com look after disabled, how many stars none.
