My wife and I always stay here. We get a balcony facing the ocean. And just sit and watch the waves. This will have been our 11th time there in total. Thanks to the staff, always so friendly and helpful.

Pro: on the beach Con: seaweed piled in the stairwell. Pro: had a hottub Con: hottub was broken. Pro: breakfast provided Con: it was PopTarts and yogurt. The people giving 4-5 stars must have only ever stayed in rent-by-the-hour in downtown Detroit.

The beds were comfortable the rooms could use some slight updating the hot tub outside was not hot it was like a lukewarm the water in the room did not get very hot at all you could smell pot when you were outside on the balcony the staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful.

Our view from the balcony was incredible. Marc was especially helpful and accommodating when my credit card was locked for possible fraud. Appreciate you working with us while this was sorted out. Can't wait to come back to Emerald Shores!! We had a perfect stay for our anniversary weekend! Thanks again! ~Andrew

Front desk help was amazing. But the first room we were in was damp and had mold. Front desk was kind enough to move us to a different room. The “breakfast” is definitely needing improvement.

I was disappointed at the lack of hot water you had to let the water heat up for 5 minutes before you could use it and then that was on straight hot also the pots and pans were horrible and the kitchenette was practically useless but the friendlyness of the people working there made up for a lot The one room without a kitchenette was actually a lot nicer than the kitchenette so I was disappointed at having paid so much more to have a kitchen that was pretty useless.

This hotel is a bit older, and has a vintage feel. The iron beds were both attractive and comfortable. The staff is amazing! And the complimentary breakfast was decent. There are really no bad views from any room windows! We were able to walk down to the beach and watch the sunrise over the ocean! Lovely experience overall. I would definitely stay there again! The whole family enjoyed our stay

The staff overall awesome, friendly, helpful. We had oceanfront room directly on water, couldn’t beat view. Room was good except for bathroom, really pretty bad, needs remodeling, the rest of the room was great, comfortable beds. Morning breakfast sad and lacking…great coffee but… pop tarts, really?

Our "balcony" was a first floor room right at the hot tub/pool. It was not swept, had cigarette butts on it. Everyone there but us must have been smoking weed, as that was a strong aroma. All exit doors were closed except one in and out to the pool (besides the front door). Didnt seem safe for that reason or the fact i looked outside our balcony at 130 am and a man was walking about 4 foot away at the pool area.

It was absolutely amazing. my husband and I came and stayed 4 nights for the NASCAR 400 and so I could see the ocean for the first time. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is just a short drive to a lot of attractions. We got an email saying the pool and jacuzzi was down for repairs, but by the time we got there, everything was fixed and opened back up. Will definitely book there again.

The hotel is in a great location, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast is perfect. Mark at the front desk makes you feel like you’re at home with family! I will definitely go back!

We got there a little after one and was told we could check in, but it would be a $40 early check-in fee if you check-in before 3 PM. I have NEVER as a silver member ever experience this. We were allowed to go to the beach until 3 PM. When we finally checked in the clerk was nice. They do however take a photo copy of your ID and credit card which made me very uncomfortable. We got to the room and it was disgusting. The whole room needs a deep clean. When we pulled the covers all the way back, there was hair at the bottom of one of the Queen bed. I travel with my own bedding and if you stay here, I would advise you to do the same. Bathroom was disgusting. The view is amazing but the same with any hotel on this beach.

We loved staying here the only thing that could be made better is the area outside by the pool needs light on the stairs that lead to the beach its very dark and the stairs are steep.

Unfortunately, we were put in a room in between both elevators and could hear them running all night which made it difficult to sleep. Only stayed for 2 nights so it seemed pointless to repack and ask for a new room just for one more night, turning on the a/c fan to run constantly did help dampen the elevator noise. The sheets had stains on them and the white towels weren’t that white anymore. Showers were not that clean and water pressure was horrible, it would just spit out water and the tub would flood. The front desk employees were nice, the bed was comfortable, and the room was very spacious. But I would not stay here again.

The rooms are run down. The toilet seat was black around the edges, the shower head was old and not attached to the wall, not much hot water - more like a drizzle of luke warm water - the view is great

Before I complain about the property, I will say the staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. No issues there. The room was very clean as well. The issues 1. The water pressure in the room shower was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The pressure was so low it was a struggle to remove soap after lathering up. 2. The beds were very uncomfortable. 3. The property says pool side bar….it has an empty tiki looking bar you can sit at but there is no bartender or drinks to be provided, you can bring your own and use the area, that is not what I was expecting and I was very disappointed. 4. As far as the out side of the hotel there is no food or bars within walking distance or shops. There is an ice cream shop on each side across the street with very good ice cream. When paying nearly $200 a night for this room I expected a better experience.

Property is old and outdated, the pictures shown are definitely not how it looks. It even smelled old! My fault for rushing to book. Definitely will not stay again. Especially 200.00 a night! Called front seat several times and when I walked up front both employees would be sitting down on their phones , totally ignoring the phone!

This place was not 8 out of 10 stars that we saw on Expedia. It was old and run down. Very plain and no extras. Worn and uncomfortable mattress. Old outdated furniture. Shower leaked all over the place. Sink was plugged. The only positive was the view and location to the beach. Also had overpowering smell of bleach. We had to buy an air freshener.

I will not return. The sheets were stained, couch had greasy stains. All of the linens were very worn out and thin. The breakfast was the worst selection that I have ever seen. I left that place as soon as I was up. Checked out at 7 am. It is somehow listed as and 8 out of 10. They listed a tiki bar which was why I booked here. No tiki bar either. I tried to plead with the hotel to cancel and refund the charges. I was told, tough luck. Lots of stains with my blacklight. There was no where to eat nearby. The Vending machines don't even work. Never again.

Easy parking. Quick check in. Beach access. Oceanfront rooms. Had real dishes and a stove top and real size refrigerator. Tiki bar was not open the whole weekend. Overall would stay again.
