Friendly reception and we were able to access our room two hours before normal check in time. The room was spacious and overlooked a very quiet street. The breakfast was very, very good with an extensive selection of fresh food to select from.

One of our favorite hotels on our 2 week trip through Germany. The room was small, but had a portable AC which made the hot weather much more bearable. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel welcomed. Walking distance to all the great dining and shopping.

Breakfast was good. Room was a good size and very clean. Some noise from street outside early in the morning. We paid to park our car in the hotel garage and psssed by one day to find it outside and unlocked! Restaurant and bar were closed for the summer which we weren't informed about beforehand.

I have stayed at the Merkur a number of times. It is well priced and quiet. Breakfast is excellent. Close to buses, the Christmas Market and public baths. I recommend to anyone looking for a central hotel in the town.

So, the hotel was unable to reserve / confirm my reservation for the weekend even though I received a reservation number from Expedia. The Hotel Merkur booked me a room at another hotel across town. So, I had to travel into the city center on foot with luggage. The hotel did not provide a map just the name of the other lodging establishment. There was no elevator in the other lodging accommodation, so I had to climb stairs to the three floor with luggage in tow. I suppose the only good outcome from the whole experience was I exercised all weekend climbing stairs with poor knees. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Baden Baden before and most have elevators to accommodate older guests. This was my first time booking a room at the Hotel Merkur. I think I will choose other accommodation in the future. Just because Expedia states your reservation is confirmed, the reality is one does not truly know until they arrive at the hotel.

Amazing city, nice and comfortable hotel which located in the center of the old city. The breakfast was wonderful and the crew was kind and helpful. The only disadvantage is the missing of air-condition in the room.

Hotel did not have parking available as promised. Told off site public parking would be same cost. It was more expensive than stated. Old carpets. Tired look. So so breakfast.

Great location in the heart of Baden Baden near the main sights. The junior suite had two rooms. One double bedroom and a large room that had two double sofa beds (we only used one of them). Good air con. Parking was expensive but you are in the centre of town and don’t need to drive around. Good breakfast with a selection of bread & pastries, cold cuts, fish, muesli and hot eggs.

A great family run hotel in the heart of Baden-Baden just 2 minutes walk from the bus stop from the rail station. Friendly, kind staff and very comfortable rooms, the single rooms have an extra large single bed and lovely Nespresso machine etc. The free breakfast was also nice with hot and cold options. Be aware that the single rooms like mine have no air conditioning on a hot day though it was manageable for me even at 34C. Overall a great short stay!

Two very nice ladies solved the problem with the parking for us although we hadn`t booked in advance. Otherwise we would have had to carry 9 boxes of champagne up three floors as the hotel unfortunately doesn`t have a lift.

This was a perfect stay. Staff friendly, room lovely (not huge but i was travelling solo so it was completely fine for me) with a fully stocked and reasonably priced mini-bar and an excellent breakfast that is included in the very competitive price. Location central. If i was going back to baden-baden i would stay here again.

The hotel itself is nice and cozy but we must say we had an unpleasant situation where my car got a smaller dent on it. We are not quite sure what happened but most probably in the hotel garage where we parked the car and gave the key to the hotel. After the next day there was a dent on it. Receptionist lady moved the car during the evening we assume the car got damaged that time. She tried to help us and check the cameras but the day after when she called back she said they were no cameras, that was very suspicious. However we didn't touch the car during our stay just saw the damage unfortunately on our way back home at the first stop at the petrol station...

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Markus! It was very central in town and we could walk everywhere. At check in we found our room had 2 small beds instead of one, but the front desk was very happy to change our room with no trouble at all. Would definitely stay here again if we were in Baden Baden!
