They had the heat on and the lobby smelt bad. They gave me a room with no air. Then they gave me a room with a wet bed, so i slept at the foot of the bed. I will sleep in my car before I ever stay there. The bathroom tub was so bad that i just wiped off with a wash cloth. Please dont stay there.

I couldn’t stay there, smelled way too bad !!!
Smell like old motor oil .

Used condom and other garbage outside of property. Halls not vacuumed, bugs, and room was dusty. I wouldn’t recommend eating or drinking anything from the dinning area. Air worked well in rooms but common areas and halls were extremely hot. Looks like there were remodeling but in my opinion it’s not being done properly. Hope they get it together because it really is a beautiful property that needs
A LOT of TLC.

Nice historic building and nice staff

There is no elevator… my mom is disabled and had to walk up and down stairs. They don’t have drinking water available for guests the vending machines were empty and no working ice Machine… had to walk to the gas station at 4 in the morning….the air in the front part of the apartment didn’t work and the air in the bedroom room barely worked! It was 100 degrees in the hallways you will be dripping sweat! I saw a couple lizards in the hallway as well…My mom suite had spiders and her sheets were filthy! The outside in the back is soooo disturbing. However the front desk clerk was sweet and nice.. -10 out of ten do not recommend!!! I’m sure I missed something!

We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Clewiston Inn, albeit for one night. It's rich history could be felt from its decor and there was considerable effort to bring in some modern amenities like breakfast and satellite TV. Parking was limited, but overall, my family and I were happy to add to their historic presence.

Room was outdated. Carpet was all stained up. Black hand prints on door frames. Seen a few roaches.

This property could be a GEM, but is so badly-managed it is a shame. There was no coffee the morning I left. I waited for 40 minutes. No one apologized. Look at their reviews - they have not been able to serve coffee for about a month, but yet they fail to fix it. The bed was so bad it sounded like old dried canvas each time you move. The towels are thread bare. Toiletries as advertised is two bars of soap and shampoo. The AC would ONLY cool my room down to 82, and that was ONLY in the early morning. When I went to bed it was 84. There was a bug on the sink. The water runs yellow at first. The furniture is old and dirty. Don't believe Patel's answers - look at her reviews - she apologizes it it not up to your expectations and then FIXES nothing. It is a magnificent Historical Inn with people running it who literally have NO clue how to run a hotel. When I told the Husband owner at check in "I have always wanted to stay here" - His Response "REALLY?". WOW. Oh yes - no WIFI in the rooms even though advertised. They say you can go to the lobby for WIFI.

Room was run down. Door key card never worked. Continental Breakfast was Poptarts, cold cereal w/no milk available, coffee w/no condiments, that's it. Carpet was filthy, linen was old, pillows were as thin as the sheets, no WiFi. We've been staying here every year, off and on, for 15+ years. This is our last year. It could be such a beautiful place with the history surrounding it, such a shame.

Well...the hotel is old we didn't have high expectations. They seemed to be under construction in some of the rooms. Would of been nice to know in advance. Continental breakfast is crappy. But there was a nice breakfast place across the street. The place has potential was probably really something back in the day.

We knew this was an old historic hotel but this hotel rundown and is in need of repairs. The Wi-Fi didn’t work reported but nothing done. The bathroom needed work. The tub needs to be replaced. Room needed vacuuming when we arrived. They offered a free continental breakfast. A joke, 3 cereals that’s it. In the courtyard there was a overstuffed chair from the lobby. It’s a shame that they let this historic hotel get in such a state of disrepair.

Horrible experience. What a ripoff. The place was very dirty. Rusty water. Air conditioning broke down. On top of it they double charged my room. This place should not be on Orbitz.

The property still needs work.

The hotel was not clean. Lots of renovation going on. Bed was clean and comfortable. That was the best part. Old towels. Mattress standing in upstairs hallway. Stairs and carpet were dirty.
They said there was breakfast but couldn't even get coffee. There was only packaged pastri, warm OJ. I wanted to stay there b/c it was The Historic Clewiston Inn. It was bought and renamed Best Value Inn. I was very disappointed. Saw it 3 years ago...it was beautiful.

I asked to see the room prior to getting a key. When I said I'd rather not stay, it was explained it was to late to cancel for a refund. Halls dirty and dark, ice machine STILL not repaired, no lounge as advertised, NO INTERNET as advertised, room not clean, pillows and under covers yellow, stained. TV did not work. Even when Expedia contacted the desk to request a refund, they refused. This should not be on the Expedia hotel list, it is not the typical hotel usually represented. FILTHY is not strong enough.

I could not get a receipt at checkout this morning and despite assurances it would be emailed to me later it never was.

Worst place as a hotel.

The property is in a desperate state of decay. Many items not not work at all, (for instance hot water disconnected at sink), and some areas are not exactly safe, (all fire extinguishers are gone)
Our room had to be moved as TVs didn’t work. When moved, TVs were disconnected, and I wired them up.
No lights in 1/2 of suite, switch didn’t work.
Grounds are filthy and weed infested.
Scariest most derelict hotel I have ever stayed at.
Too bad, I bet it was a nice place 50 years ago.
But it is quite evident that right now, no one cares.
I was pleasantly surprised that there was toilet paper on the roll.
Some cool historical moments of bygone years.
But, generally not fit for guests.

The toilet would not flush and the shower would not drain. There was a noisy party going on in the lobby. Overall terrible experience, I would not recommend.

I booked a King size room and when we got there they gave us a card and room number that the door had a pad lock on and was a twin room. When I told the girl at the front desk she just looked at me like I was stupid and then started looking at her computer and gave us the correct key and room. Come to find out the twin room was one they rent for people to live in. There NO cold water in our room so I took scalding hot showers. There were boot marks in the bath tub along with mold. The doors were difficult to open as they were stuck and had to use our body to bust through the door. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, the only outlet available to use, the plug fell out of. There was one under the tv that was a multi outlet but had 5 plugs in it already. I was waiting for the place to burn down at any minute. Again, when all this was addressed to the people at the front counter they just looked at us. We stayed here because it was convenient for my health during the Sugar Festival but NEVER again will stay here. There were busted beer bottles on the ground between the hotel and “apartments” and just all around dirty. The kitchen is completely closed but the dining room was still set up.
My advice, do NOT stay here!!!!

Need to be remodeled, everything is too old

This place is disgusting, used to be very elegant. Think it should be completely rebuilt Was a waste of money, would have been better off sleeping in the truck.

After being assigned a room that had a padlock on it and another room that was not suitable for me, I went to another hotel. I would like a refund. The hotel is under remodeling and the pictures on the website had nothing to do with the conditions and the available rooms.

State of disrepair! Shower ran constantly - handy man tried to fix it but management just kept telling him to patch it. Finally agree for him to go get new part but by that time we were ready for bed and told him we would skip shower! NO coffee in room!
4.0 / 10.0
Check in was lengthy and uncomfortable as no A/C in lobby, They could not find my reservations, luckily I had printed out a copy of my prepaid itinerary receipt .Cold showers lumpy bed, steep stairways, no elevators, ice machines did not work, the place has deteriorated significantly since my last stay over five years ago. Trash piled up at exits building needs major renovations. Designated Boat trailer parking area not well marked to avoid blocking in by others and hookups to electricity to recharge boats not code compliant.and coming off the walls.
3.0 / 10.0
This could be a beautiful place, but it needs a lot of TLC, Our bathroom was full of little flying bugs. It is very noisy, people trying to open and close there room doors and the staff doing remodeling in the room next door. I will not stay here again
