It was great!

Lovely two story basic cabanas. The place is a little more than tired. The pool was green. The pugs were friendly. The staff fell over backwards to assist you and Breakfast was great. Nothing fancy and yes a cold shower on a cool morning did send a chill up my spine .

Out of town and quiet. Clean rooms with decent size pool. Showers weren't airways hot and the restaurant wasn't open when we stayed - not even serving coffee and juices. The AC in our room was faulty. Overall we had a relaxing stay though.

It is a nice hotel a little off the strip towards the end but it is a short walk maybe 5 to 10 min walk to all the activities and restaurants and the staff was friendly. i was kinda scared because towards the end of the strip there isn't any street lights its a little dark for about 2 blocks before you get to the main area. overall good experience only complaint would be the hot water wasn't very hot it was like warm. they didn't have TV but i didn't mind the AC was nice and strong though when i went it wasn't very hot.

Dust everywhere, spider webs everywere, the soaps of the last clientes were still on the shower that was really dirty.
They were only one pillow one the bed and no towels in the bathroom, we then asked for one pillow and towels to the receptionist that came back with some later, the joke was that he didn’t bring 3 towels but 3 bath mat, obviously really dirty too.
Any way we were tired and only wanted to sleep so we get to bed, I’m a ear plug addict I cannot sleep without it, thing is that at 1am i woke up because of the sound of a club or something like this, it was sooo loud that even with my ear plug I couldn’t sleep.
After 2 hours waiting to see what would happen we went to the receptionist to ask him to help us with this.
It was useless to try to speak, he was really nice and everything but it was obvious he was scared of his boss so I asked him to call his boss, he told me that he was out of the country. Bullshit after 1 hour insisting he finally showed up very unrespectful, talking bad from the beginning and telling me that if I was no happy with the music it was none of his business and that I should go tell them to lower the music myself. We argued loudly for a will and I asked him a total refund because I wanted to live the crazy place.
He finally told me that he was about to call the police I told him to do so. He didn’t called them and gave money to the recpet for us to leave. We left at 5am

The problem is that the units all all in a row and the units on the end never get hot water. The manager did come over and opened a valve outside and ran a bunch of water on the ground and we got warm water. The next day they gave us a up grade one that was closer to the hot water tank and we had hot water. The sign by the road was not lite so it was hard to find at night.

The staff were nice, but we left before our reservation was over due to a number of factors.
The hotel is far enough out of downtown Tulum to not only be inconvenient but also scary to travel to at night. It is far enough down the main road that there are no street lights for a portion of the walk. I would recommend not making this walk alone, just take a taxi instead.
The rooms were noticeably built by hand; there are gaps in the corners of the walls and under the doors that allow in many (large, scary...) bugs. You could hear every move of the upstairs neighbors. The rooms were dark, especially the bathroom which was more creepy than quaint. The showers were nice and hot though, but I felt I needed to wear flip flops while showing. We also discovered that water ran down the walls of our room when the upstairs neighbors showered, which was the last straw that lead to our departure.

Loved this place right away. The effort they took to make this a greenery place was commendable. I am definitely coming back here.

The Green Tulum is on the outskirts of “downtown” Tulum. It is a funky property in a jungle like setting. Lots of quirky touches like the seashell light fixtures and faucets. It’s not spotless or perfectly built but it has lots of charm and a lovely setting. The staff was friendly and helpful. They only serve toast and coffee for breakfast but lots of good food options less than a half mile away. A mile or two to the beach town of Tulum which has everything you could want in a tropical setting. White sand beaches gorgeous restaurants, massage, yoga, shopping. There you’ll pay several times more for a room on the beach. Green Tulum is a great low budget option.

It was very disappointing the roof leaked and we had a wet bed . they advertised a health club and restaurant - neither if which really exist and hard to find- a long way out of town.

Wi-Fi wasn't working. It was a very rustic site, but a pleasant stay, as a result of the staff.

We booked it not realizing it is just off the main road, a bit loud with trucks and not an easy walk into downtown Tulum. Great pool th9ugh an cool set up of rooms up and down with hammocks on many of the porches and balconies. I would say a bit expensive for what you get- basic room with a bed and great mosquito netting, but musty smelling for sure. However, the staff was great. They were very patient with getting my friends and me rooms that were one above the other-we wanted to be close. They really worked to make it happen, all in a downpouring rain with smiles on their faces.

Very difficult to find; terrible/limited parking; roaches, roaches, roaches; no wi-fi in room, despite asking numerous times.
1.0 / 10.0
The room was nice, but open. The problem with that was you could hear everything outside such as trucks driving by the major road, or people getting back in at 1:30am from partying. Wifi was free but didn't extend well to the room, so it was cutting in and out. Parking was limited and inefficient so ended up having to park out on the street.

The rooms are cabanas in a mini jungle, 15 minutes from the Main Street in town. I can see how it would appeal to lots of people however you need to have torch/flashlight as the lights in the room are so dim, I could barely see.
The restaurant and bar didn't seem to be open which was a shame.
I was disappointed and a little annoyed to find that there was no hot water for a shower in the morning especially as it cost £97 for the night.

I like the concept but i think it under delivers. The bed is quite small for two people. The bathroom is tiny. There is only one small mirror, and its in the bathroom, so if youre a woman youll have a hard time getting dressed and ready. The cabanas are very close to each other, and you can hear everything coming from upstairs or side rooms. The overall feel of the place is nice. Very green, however, i stayed at another place in Tulum, and green isnt hard to find...

The accomodation is very basic, my room didn't have air conditioning and the fan didnt penetrate through the mosquito net so it was a very uncomfortable night.

We booked this 3* hotel for 2 nights by looking at pictures on expedia.. but just while entering into hotel from dirty road access, our hopes were shattered.. Room were dingy, Old and worn out. (See actual pictures I attached) Bathroom was just dirty hole of 3X5 feet with no mirror. I could not shave, my wife could not do makeup..lol. AC was not there, and fan on rotating with vibration as if it would fall any time. Wifi was not working in room (worked in lobby) Real horror started in night, in spite of keeping door/windows closed, room was filled of mosquitoes which left lots of bites on our skin.. as there is no AC in hot room (it's cancun), mosquitoes literally did not allow us to sleep whole night.. Next day we decided that even though we did not have back up plan to book another hotel, we would leave this hotel in mid-way...Hotel is bit remote (10min walk) from all restaurant zone.. so thank god that we had car, so we did not have to go thru dark scary route. So my advise would be to skip this hotel even if it looks cheaper choice for 3 star hotel (which it does not deserve).

Check-in was quick and easy. The room was modestly furnished with one queen bed and small futon. The sheets on the bed were clean, but need to be replaced (a few small holes and light stains). Give the shower more than 5 minutes to heat up (no need to turn on the cold water) or else you're in for a lukewarm shower, which isn't too bad in 80 degrees. The ceiling fan was mostly sufficient.
If you need to sleep in complete silence, this is NOT the place for you. Roosters WILL wake you up early, or before dawn, if you're not one to sleep through it. Bring ear plugs if you otherwise don't mind being close to nature.
Our room included breakfast which was simple, but tasty--a big plate of sliced fruits, fresh juice or coffee, and scrambled eggs with refried beans. Service was fast and pleasant. We had a car, but you could take a 10-15 minute walk to the beginning of the main strip of restaurants in Tulum. The hotel is off the main drag, but seemed safe.

You get what you pay for most definitely! It is clearly an Eco-hotel, I am fine with this for a one night stay but not having any hot water really put me off. Even in the hot weather you need hot water to have a good clean surely? Unless it was just our room but we checked out anyway so didnt bother asking I dont think its near anything in terms of location, etc..

The gentlemen who run the front desk are so very warm and helpful. I would stay there again to visit them. Never have I experienced more genuine hospitality. The gardens and rooms were very atmospheric, in a cool jungle-chic-hippy way. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. For this price-range in Tulum it is great.

Green Tulum is just as advertised, a cute, little eco-themed set of cabanas. They were neat and clean and sprinkled with flower petals as we walked in... nice touch. The furnishings are simple and quite rustic, in line with the eco-friendly theme. But, where Green Tulum stood out was the attention by the the staff. The property manager was authentically concerned about our comfort. He answered all our questions about the region helped us book a trip to the bioreserve nearby, even though it took a few tries due to some of them being booked. In fact, when the tour came to pick us up at the hotel, a few of the other tourists commented on how cute our hotel was and wanted to know about it. The biggest drawback is that it's a decent walk to Tulum, probably 10 minutes along the side of the road to get to the start of the main strip of shops and restaurants. We didn't mind it much, but definitely something to be aware of.

The lock system on the door was flimsy. You couldn't lock the door with out a key from the inside. We spent too much time looking for the key in order to get out of the room.
No privacy. You could see the light through the ceiling of the cabana upstairs, and hear EVERYTHING.
The hotel is out of town in not a very nice area.
I did not feel safe.

This is a beautiful small place in the middle of
A beautiful garden with a nice pool.
The room is a cabin and you are as close to nature
As can be! Only for people who love sleeping in the nature.
The room has no air conditior.
You can have breackfast. It's a bit far from everything but if you
Have a car it's ok. Enjoy.

Basic room, which gets abit humid, but absolutely breath taking green surroundings. Well worth a stay.

I thought this hotel was very neat. The plants & trees on the property were very well kept. It felt like staying at a hotel in the middle of the rain forest.
The reason I did not like this hotel and probably would not return is for one reason only.....Location.
I thought the location was terrible. It's basically on the outskirts of town, about as far from the beach as I could tell.
Walking into town from the hotel is not a long walk, but I felt like the area seemed a little sketchy. It's past the last police checkpoint in town and you have to walk past some pretty run down buildings.
After the first night we relied on cabs instead of walking, which are plentiful and not that expensive if you negotiate the fare before you get in the cab.
The staff was very helpful and did whatever they could to make your stay more enjoyable.
This place was nice, there is just so many other places with a much better location.

When we arrived, the manager was flustered because the hotel was already fully booked before we'd checked in. He told us, "We'll find a place to put you." We were given a room NOT of the type I'd pre-paid for (those were charming 2-story round huts, each with a hammock and table on the patio of each level), but in a separate building where the room appeared to be awaiting repair - no hammock, no table, broken bed, etc. We were never offered any kind of compensation for not getting what we'd paid for. The staff was unfriendly, unhelpful, and they lock you in at 11 pm/don't open the gate until 7 am.
Don't waste your money! While the garden and grounds are lovely, the whole experience is spoiled by the lack of welcoming spirit. I think that is particularly true for Americans.

Very basic. Would be a wonderful experience apart from the location.

it was on the out skirts of town. no a/c asked for a 2 bed and got one. rooms are really small.
1.0 / 10.0
The okay: the hotel was relatively clean, safe, and well lit. I did not use the pool but it looked clean and inviting.
The not so good: I don't expect the staff to roll out the red carpet for me wherever I go, but the man at reception was downright unfriendly--not even so much as a smile or "bienvenidos" after a long trip. He seemed really put off that I did not have my Expedia reservation # immediately on hand, and really annoyed when he had to tell me the wireless internet code several times (he rattled the numbers off to me in Spanish, which I understand, but not perfectly and not when spoken very rapidly in a low voice).
Location also leaves much to be desired--is on the outskirts of town and inconvenient to get to town unless you walk along the side of the highway (no real sidewalk) for 10-15 min. Even though the town is super safe, I don't feel comfortable walking anywhere along a dark, deserted stretch of road for very long.
The room was also not what I expected--the canopy bed was covered in a plastic tarp with debris over it, which didn't look very nice.
Finally, the NOISE. Oh, the noise. That was the worst--it was absolutely impossible to sleep. I'm a city person and used to the everyday sounds of life, but the hotel is apparently bordered by multiple construction sites (that operate at night?!?!), a super loud bar, and lots of barking dogs. I slept with earplugs AND my wrap around headphones and still barely slept. Was a relief to leave!
2.0 / 10.0
The hotel was located just out of town, about 5min walk away so excellent location.
The rooms were very romantic, and comfortable.
However there was no hot water (though often the weather was so hot that it didn't matter)
Wireless internet was temperamental, and often didn't work.
Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here!
