This hotel was amazing from start to finish the staff were very helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed in an apartment which is a separate building to the hotel and would recommend for families as there is lots of space, small well equipped kitchen, sofa bed and separate bedroom. We also had 2 beautiful balconies overlooking the rear secluded garden and lake. The restaurant was a highlight of our stay I cannot praise the quality and presentation enough. Without a doubt this will be a must to stay in when we return to the area.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location, right on the lakefront, with a lovely garden pool. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The only drawback was parking, as the car park was always full and seemed to be open to non-hotel guests, as well as noisy bikers. The entrance to the hotel was a u-turn from the street, relatively fine to enter, but perilously dangerous and tricky to exit...

Excellent hotel. Excellent facilities. Perfect location right on the lake front. Pool area perfect. Could not recommend this hotel any higher. We stayed in the apartments...we were unsure what this would be like but were delighted with the quality of the accommodation. Looking forward to hopefully staying here again in future.

The hotel and room were fantastic. It is a great property.

- No Gym -> not acceptable in this category - No parasol on the terrace of the apartment -> how should we use it by sun? - No coffee machine in room, no kettle in room -> minimum service in a 5* Hotel in every room and for sure in apartments - Equipment in the apartment has got very poor quality. Please buy good knives und boards - The road is just 5m away and always very busy. Those room couldn't be offered for 300 Euro per night you should be happy for each single guest who comes to book this loud room without hotel services. - Also at the pool it isn't very relaxing because of the busy street just a few meters away. Overall it isn't worth the money you try to get the most money out of it without investing

Nice hotel, right on the lake

Love staying a Hotel Bella Riva. Very comfortable beautiful hotel on one of the prettiest parts of Lake Garda. The hotel is elegant, but not pretentious. Love eating on the terrace with the wonderful view of the lake. The food and breakfast are great. Such a real treat to be able to stay there.

The design is chic with images from Paul Klee at the entrance, 19th century classic furniture in the bar, a good sense of space throughout, and a wide selection of books on art and architecture that we enjoyed skimming through over breakfast. Quality is high throughout so its an easy choice for either families or couples looking for a something special. As with many hotels, drinks and extras were overpriced, even by our own Central-London standards, but thats an easy opt-out. Overall, highly recommended.

Rooms are very comfortable. Beds are huge. Breakfast was exceptional quality. Wifi worked well. Pool was great.

Travelled with our almost two year old son. We had booked into the Apartment/Annex/Villa Mughetto and could't quite tell what we were in for. I can't comment on the the regular rooms, but at the time we booked they were double the price of the apartment. Had a large bathroom (no tub for but large walkin shower), small kitchenette with fridge and small stove and sink. Lots of space for our son to run around and on the grounds there were some grassy areas, and a nice walkway with ducks and small pebbled beach to throw rocks in the lake. Breakfast included was great, high quality, eggs per order, breads, yogurt, pastries, fruits. The only negative would be that if you wanted to be in town, then this is not for you. It was a couple kilometer (very beautiful) walk into the nearest town Maderno, and a short taxi to Salo. There was a small store nearby (5min walk) for milk and some small supplies. We were looking for some quiet/relaxation and so it suited us perfectly. Staff were very accommodating and friendly to our son. FYI cab from Desenzano train station was ~50euro. Cab to/from Salo was 13-15 euro. Private driver back to Venice airport was pricey at 300euro but we needed to do it for our schedule.

The Bella Riva sits right on the shore of Lake Garda, giving you a direct connection with this magnificent body of water. The hotel looks traditional from the outside but is thoroughly modern on the inside and everything is of the highest quality. The staff are welcoming and friendly and while they are knowledgeable and efficient there is a relaxed feeling about the place. The restaurant wasn't just good, we both thought the food was amazing even though we eat out a lot. Downsides? Our room wasn't quite a big as we would have liked but this really is a small complaint (excuse the pun).

We were there on honeymoon and we thought it was wonderful. Expensive but very nice rooms.

The hotel is a traditional Gem. It has a beautiful position next to the castle, free parking, and magnificent views. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. We would definately stay again and would recommend really highly to couples. There is also a great spa and an outside thermal pool, (which is not a swimming pool). The swimming is best done in the lake - which in summer is a great temperature
