Noise level is high, for a mid-week, off season visit. Noise is not high from outdoor/tourist traffic, but from staff themselves. Evening/overnight staff were extremely loud and unpleasant. It's not the best spot to travel with a child, as there are many stairs and you have to park off site (through a busy parking lot). Additionally, there are no bathtubs. Pros are the location, can't beat it and the breakfast was sufficient. There was also a lovely woman staffing the desk during the day-appreciate her!

I came to celebrate my anniversary. I was contacted by Lauren before my stay and was offered packages for our special night. I decided not to get the packages but the option was very nice. Also, after speaking to Antoinette at the front desk she had informed us that she could help book a fishing trip at one of the local charters, unfornately we were only staying the one day and could not take advantage of this perk. The room was very cozy and we loved the old style decor. The location is great, TONS of options for drinks and dinner within walking distance. The view of the beach right outside our window was amazing as well. I would highly recommend and will be looking to stay again for another special occasion. Another cool thing is it is right in the heart of downtown Newport and you feel like a VIP having a private entrance up to your room right off the main street.

We loved our stay here. Doryman's is a unique property in a spectacular beachfront location. We felt like we were staying in a historic mansion. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and well appointed. Nights can be noisy because of the surrounding bars and restaurants, but there are many choices and we didn't have to drive anywhere. Parking is limited due to the location but there are spaces reserved for guests as well as a loading area directly in front. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning.

Charming, kitsch, gem. Beautiful rooms, very comfy beds,perfect California sunset view, in room fireplace and falling asleep to the sound of pacific waves- what’s not to like? Excellent restaurant downstairs with in room options. Was a solo business trip but would highly recommend for romantic weekend or anniversary. Only feedback clearer communication when booking on how to park. Everything great would definitely go again.

This hotel is super cute, cozy, clean and right off the beach. Which was exactly what we were looking for. Anthony the front desk agent was very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. My only issue was the bed was comfortable but super squeeky. I woke up my husband getting up to use the restroom in the middle of the night.

We enjoy our stays at Doryman's. We had the corner beachside room and it was beautiful to look out at the beach and pier. Check-in is easy, there are open, top deck patios to sit and enjoy the sunrise/sunsets. I love that each room looks different. Only drawback is that the parking is across the lot behind a business. But you can park upfront for check-in. We would definitely come back to this gem.

Very cool B&B on the beach in Newport. It is in the middle of the Newport Peninsula party scene so be prepared for lots of late night revelers around the building / noise. The decktop is beautiful for peace and beauty!

We enjoyed every aspect of this property. We aimed to bask in the ocean's proximity and immerse ourselves in its soothing ambiance. Though the hotel exudes an aged charm, its coziness is undeniable. While it may lack the amenities typical of large chain hotels, its uniqueness shines through, complemented by a delightful staff. It unequivocally met all our needs and desires. the property boasts charming fireplaces, mantels, and armoires, creating a cozy atmosphere. Its lavish use of brass and oak and spacious sunken shower/tubs surpass the standards of typical hotel amenities. Though bold and adorned with mirrors, heavy frames, and fabric, the decor may be considered risqué by some. Nonetheless, amidst the unexpected aesthetic, Doryman's maintains an elegant ambiance, a departure from the usual minimalist coastal design of Orange County.

I am being truly honest with excellent across all spectrums. It was amazing. And the lady, Lauren, who checked in and out, was outstanding. This truly is a gem to stay at. The only thing thats not their fault is it is noisy outside at night because its a beach town, but ear plugs would assist.

This was our second time at the Dorymans. We love the hotel and the staff are wonderful. Our only complaint was the noise at night from partygoers downstairs in the bars and surrounding area when we were trying to sleep. I did mention it to the staff and they were very kind to offer earplugs but we declined. We would definitely stay there again but in another room where we wouldn’t hear the noise so we could have a better nights sleep.
