Family ski resort with 2 restaurants Enjoy the slopes and an indoor pool at Oglebay Resort during the winter, and return in the summer for a round at the resort's golf course. Oglebay Resort offers 258 accommodations with coffee/tea makers and hair dryers. Rooms open to balconies or patios. Flat-screen televisions are featured in guestrooms. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access. We had a great time and would recommend the resort, but we we surprised that our room didn’t have a fridge. Staff was not overly friendly, except for the Jim the landscaper. He is a retired teacher and stopped to talk to us and tell us all about the resort. We loved the outdoor pool and took some really nice walks. We eat at the resort.

We loved this place for the serenity of the atmosphere. This lodge is under renovation but we still enjoyed the property. I think once the remodel is done it will be great! We didn’t use all the amenities but it did have a pool and sauna along with a game room. We did enjoy our dinner on the lodge, the zoo was closed but we enjoyed the glas museum and mansion tour.

It was very busy at check in time but all went smoothly. On our way to our room we met Bruce
He had something to do with the food and beverage area of the property. He was so nice to show us to our room because it was confusing! That's a pretty amazing employee!

We stopped in after going to a Nailers game. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the room was affordable and clean. It seems like they were recently updated! The outdoor balcony was incredibly nice as well!

Even though the construction and the chaos of the cold snowing evening was going on checkin was quick and staff was personable and friendly.

It was a great lodge that is under new renovation but did not effect the lobby and rooms that were being used so I got a lovely room with beautiful wood furniture and doors at a really reasonable price and they allow dogs for a reasonable price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t get the heat to work in my room and they sent someone immediately to fix it.

Loved the zoo! The staff at the zoo were genuinely kind and helpful. The room with the fireplace was amazing. The pool area was beautiful. The heated towel rack was a lovely surprise!
The construction was annoying.
There was not a microwave or freezer in the room.
The jacuzzi jets in the pool area were weak.

Beautiful place to stay! Really disappointed they didnt have a nicer bar and took the TV out so we couldnt watch the NFL playoffs except in our room...I will come back again when they get all their remodeling done.

Pool was cloudy. The heat and tv didn’t work in the room. They eventually did fix the tv and heat.

We stayed 1/13 to 1/14 and it was horrible. We took into consideration that its being remodeled. Our room was in Bryd wing. The sink and tub were both clogged. The bed was sooo hard our backs were sooo sore in the am. Breakfast was a long wait. Once we were sitting we waited another 15 mins for a waitress to come take order which was the buffet.
We have stayed here many times but this time was not good.

It was hard to figure out where our room was. We drove all the way around the place, stopped twice to ask someone. For price i paid was not inpressed with room.

Expected better. Lodge was nicely decorated for holidays and pool area was enjoyable. However, rooms were not very clean. One bed had dirty sheets that clearly were not washed. Ordered food from restaurant and they said they'd call when it was ready. 50 min later I called and they said it had been sitting there but they didn't have my number. I definitely gave it to them. Beds were rickety and very loud w every movement. In the morning a dog was barking constantly. If I paid one star hotel prices it would be almost tolerable but not for the amount we spent. We had 2 nice meals at restaurants in Wheeling so I'd visit the region again but stay elsewhere.

Staff was very good and courteous. Newer rooms were very nice and easily accessible. Food was very good and great service. Can’t wait to go back again.

We had an adjoining room, and the couple next door were very loud for several hours between two and four thirty in the morning.

Wilson's lodge and the glass house was festive and nice. Our room was a hot mess of stained carpet and trash and dirt behind the nightstands. We were looking to plug in the phones.... Eww.

Beautiful property, especially for the Christmas season. Grounds are well taken care of. Stayed on the older side this time. Have a toddler who was able to open the latch on the door to the hallway even with the deadbolt “on”, which was concerning. No other issues.

Beautiful property,and decorated so pretty for Christmas. Buffet was excellent ,and all the staff were very nice!

A wonderful experience with friendly staff, who made you feel welcome. The room was adequate, the lounge area's were warm and decorated for Christmas. The swimming pool area was nice with sauna and hot tub. Restaurants offered all kinds of menu's, and all the food was very good, especially the Holiday Buffet.
The drive through Christmas lights were amazing, we appreciated the work that went into making it so special. We can't wait to go back

It was great, the staff was friendly and everyone was nice. The trolley was great but needs a little more heat . Also the parking is not the best once you park you can’t move your vehicle because you’ll be a long walk away to get to your room. The trolley need to run daily to do tours of the mansion and shops on the property. Overall excellent place and staff.
