We enjoyed our stay. We have stayed at this hotel in various occasions because of the proximity to relatives and the convenience of transportation close by. The hotel staff is amazing and very welcoming. Very clean and the breakfast was very good. I did find that the neighborhood has deteriorated a lot since our last visit, however the hotel is safe. As we were leaving early morning the front desk attendant escorted us outside and waited till we got into our UBER that was a very nice gesture. We will continue to stay at this hotel on future visits.

There was a problem in my bathroom and reception didn't want to help or solve the issue. I had a transit flight so I booked a hotel to take a rest but they made me nervous.

Great stay nice hotel room. The neighborhood is not the best but the hotel was pleasant and enjoyable. Bed was nice AC worked fine hot water was good. My visit was nice n I would go back and stay.

I was pleasantly surprised at how spacy and cute my hotel room was. The area isnt the best but thats not the hotels fault. Once youre in the hotel its great. I will definitely book this hotel again

Fine front desk and service staff. Clean adequate room, ok cold breakfast, close to subway and major highways, easy into Manhattan. Limited hotel parking. Ease of Street parking depending on day. Lively street life, shops, eating places; interesting international clientele.
But 149th is a busy garbage strewn street.

A beautiful hotel steeped in history! From the entryway to the rooms this hotel is beautiful and welcoming. On your way to your room the plaques and photos on the wall take you back in time to the original Opera House and some famous faces who performed.
The room was huge compared to any hotel! We had two queen beds and a couch with room to spare! There’s a refrigerator and microwave in the room and a free continental breakfast.
I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in NYC if you want to be close to manhattan but not in the midst of the hustle and bustle of it.

Beautiful hotel, perfect service, it only has 7 parking spots so it's first come, first served. There was a lack of pillows for a queen bed. It was so quiet, it didn’t feel like we were in the city. A 30-minute walk to the Yankees Stadium. I would definitely go back without hesitation.

We enjoyed our stay everything was great except that they only have have 7 parking spaces in garage and 2 or handicapped needs to invest in a real parking lot or ask city for on street parking spots area is ruff but good Mexican restaurant near by

A lot of remodeling taking place. Saw a few bugs in bathroom each night. After updating , this will be a very nice hotel

The staff was courteous and attentive. The prices are reasonable, the property was nice and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay. I would absolutely recommend this establishment to my friends and family and I will be going again myself.

BEWARE!!! This hotel is basically in the ghetto like where there was trash everywhere blowing around. A lot of homeless people. It is also across from a subway of which you can hear…
Also the photos on the website are all FAKE!
For example the picture of the gym shows TV’s on the treadmills which don’t exist. Even the main picture is fake.
On the positive the beds were very comfortable…
This Hotel is not safe at all. Don’t ever stay here.

Very attractive hotel, convenient to subway. Breakfast included is a nice amenity. As others have stated, the surrounding area isn’t as nice as the hotel. I still felt safe because police are active in the area. Even though the hotel is in a busy area, it’s very quiet in the hotel.

It is in the Bronx and in the middle of a street that is the city. But once you walk into The Opera House it is an entirely different world! The staff is amazing! Best staff I have ever experienced in my travels. The rooms are so comfortable and the soaking tubs after a long day are perfect. The sub station is a block away and 10 minutes to Central Park. You can hire a personal driver that they have available who are awesome. And the fee is not more than a cab ride. I have found my perfect place for my visits to the NYC. And I love the night cap cookies!! This is really a genuine gem!!

I book a room and they confirmed then they said there wasn't any available and i the one they had was a smaller one but they weren't able to fix the problems. Wen they could but didn't wanted

The pros:
The hotel is decent, well equipped and nicely decorated.
The staff was very friendly and efficient.
Breakfast is pretty good too and included.
There's a bit of onsite parking
The cons:
There are about 5 parking spots and first-come basis.
But the main down is the area: it's dirty, full of garbage, rundown, druggies. We were told by different people to not venture outside after dark as it's very unsafe.
Bottom line - If you have to stay in this particular area, the hotel is good. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
