Rooms could do with a refresh. Bathrooms are dated. Instant coffee option is a pet hate and my room had limited natural light.

We spent a lovely evening in the restaurant (great food), and warm cosy bar. Lovely friendly staff. Clean comfy warm room. All very nice and value for money. Free parking at back of hotel. Lechlade is a lovely little town. The New Inn is the best pub in the town.

Rooms was cold and could not set the heating.

The staff and atmosphere was really good, the promise of sky tv in the room was vastly exaggerated as only got two channels of free view, but the food was really nice

This hotel was booked in February for 2 night for my sons wedding .
There are so many beautiful hotels in the Cotswolds but this is not one of them .
We were shown a room across the yard in Apsley house - it was shabby tiny with single pillows old iron burn in the dirty carpet and we had to pass bundles of dirty laundry to reach it . It had one tiny skylight window a minute bathroom and no full length hanging . This was £120 ! I wouldn’t have paid £40 for it . The next room was slightly larger still no hanging and a charming view of a garage snd outside toilet .
Finally we settled on a room in the main body of the building which was clean and had a reasonable bathroom . It was so tired and shabby though . The staircase to reach it was so old worn with greasy food smells as you climbed the staircase it were very unpleasant .
What angered us so much was out the back were newly refurbished stables which were clean fresh and pleasant and unoccupied! We were not shown those . The room with the toll top bath wanted a further £12.50 a night charged even though the carpet in the room was stained and dirty . We did not have breakfast the dining room looked so dated and shabby we decided to go next door to the charming cafe .
The only positive I can say was the beds were clean .
As said there are beautiful hotels in the Cotswolds but this is not one of them .

Breakfasts and evening meals were fabulous.
Room was disappointedly small and very hot even with a fan. Too hot to sleep well, avoid room 42.
Housekeeping fail, room was not serviced and we had to ask for clean towels!

Late booking meant we were on the top floor, not good for us. Difficult access to kettle, so we didn't use it. Window rattled in the wind so had to open it to stop the noise.

Where do I begin! Quaint, Clean, Comfortable with Loads of history. Beautiful location on the Thames. Just a quick jaunt to the Cotswolds and the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The pub and restaurant were spot on.The food was Absolutely Superb! My compliments to their chef! We ate every meal in their restaurant.
Every staff member was friendly and kind. We honestly hated to leave! 10/10 when I come back to UK will go out of my way to stay here again.

So so cute! We rented a room just for a quick night sleep but were blown away! The town is adorable and the hotel is in an old home with all the character and charm that comes with it. Only disappointment is that we only stayed here for one night. Pictures don’t do it justice!

Very nice stay in this coaching inn with nice original features. Friendly, quirky, and a great location for exploring the town and surroundings. Lovely circular walk along the Thames, with great views of the boats, fishing and swans. along to St John's lock and the trout inn. Well worth a visit. Good food.

First of all, all the staff we encountered at The New Inn were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I just can't offer a positive review over all.
After a fairly standard check we were put in a room in the annex, and immediately found a large puddle of water on the bathroom floor. It's been incredibly wet recently and it's an old building, so not exactly unexpected. It was reported to reception and quickly cleared up. Unfortunately a couple of hours later we discovered another leak pouring water down the bedroom wall. At this point enough was enough and we asked to move rooms. We were quickly and without fuss moved to a courtyard room. Unfortunately this room wasn't great. The bathroom was filthy, literally like an old barn (that I think it actually is). The bathroom door also didn't close. The whole room slept like an old caravan, very musty and damp. The road in and out of the carpark passes right by the doors to the courtyard rooms, so we were woken early morning to vehicles idling just a few feet from the bed.
We ate in the restaurant the evening of our stay. The food is fine, it's £15 a main pub grub - you know what to expect. It would have been nice to have had a round of drinks or a few pounds off the bill, considering the difficulties with the room, but nothing was forthcoming.
So we probably didn't see The New Inn at it's best, but I cannot in all honesty recommend it, nor would I book again.

The room was clean but the window ledge in the bathroom was filthy. The bathroom door didn't shut properly. The light above the mirror in the bathroom didn't work. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels on. It could do with a light above the mirror in the bedroom.

It is a lovely old building, perhaps not easy to convert to today's requirements. I loved the food and the bustle of a Friday night. I went there to walk that section of the Thames path and it was ideal for that, not easy to access however now that there is no longer a direct bus from Swindon.
