I have always wanted to visit NY at Christmas! It was magical. The Crowne Plaza was clean and beautiful decorated for Christmas. The customer service was exceptional. We had a problem with the TV and remote control. They were quick to get maintenance on the issue and it was resolved quickly. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was really convenient and provided a healthy start to very busy days. If you return later in the night the walk to the hotel can be a little stressful; just be aware of your surroundings. Also within walking distance of Madison Square Garden!! It was a great stay!!

Excellent stay! everyone was very helpful - Jose, Ashley, Tamari, Jane and one other Asian gentleman who checked us in. Enjoyed free breakfast. Excellent location.

Do not trust the photos for standard rooms. That is not the real size and format for the rooms you are gonna get. Only one room is like that in each floor, and all the other rooms are much smaller, but the hotel still put the room to deceive customers into booking. It’s understandable that hotels in manhattan are small. It is not acceptable to use such scheme to misguide people into buying. I talked with the staff and got a tiny amount of compensation, and I was hinted it was the website who put the photos. So I accepted that compensation. But later after I checked out, the website would me it’s the hotel who is responsible for the photos. I talked to the hotel again, wanting to make sure they do something to stop it, but the staff again just don’t give a damn. Some staff I talked to are generally very cold and apathetic, superficial on the surface, and don’t have a heart for customers’ wellbeing. I encountered a very rude African American lady in the front desk who kept showing behaviors equal to rolling her eyes at me and signing after I finished talking like I was being unreasonable and stupid when I confronted about the photos, even though the hotel was the one who did this to customers. Worst hotel experience ever in the whole world. Totally not recommended.

My teenagers and I had the most wonderful stay here. The location is great - some reviews mentioned it felt unsafe however this was not our experience. Yes there was one homeless person on the street but that is like most side streets. The room was modern, extremely clean and spacious enough - especially when you’re not in nyc to spend time in room all day. The most memorable part of our stay here though was the wonderful staff - we were greeted by Jeferson on reception & he accommodated an early check in for us which was a God send after a red eye flight. Very grateful! Every interaction with a staff member here was so pleasant and they could not have been more hospitable or welcoming every time we returned to the hotel and with a few requests we had. We would choose to stay here for future visits. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

HVAC was blowing right on me no matter where i positioned myself in the king bed. And the fan on the HVAC was powerful so the sleep wasnt the best. No cup in the bathroom. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

Being on 36th Avenue and west of 8th street, it's just "far enough" (5 minutes or less) from the commotion of times square, Penn station etc that it's not so busy but close enough that it's all there. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 6 nights as a family. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The rooms were big compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in NYC. The property had three elevators which worked well throughout our time there. I would stay again.

The staff was excellent. Very accomodating and professional. Facilitating special requests and even arranging transportation back to JFK for us. The restaurant adjoining the hotel was also great for lunch/light dinner options with excellent staff as well (special shout-out to Bernie for his excellent hosting). The rooms, although small, were ample, modern and cozy. The location was within walking distance of everything (shops, restaurants, Penn station) but not too near to the noisie of Times Square. The 36th Street can be a little lonely at times but we didn't feel unsafe when walking in groups of 3. Overall, a really nice hotel for our group. We would definitely stay there again.

Narrow rooms with thin walls (gets noisy); Uncomfortable bed and boiling hot water in the bathroom (that gave my little one burns). Will certainly never visit again. The only redeeming factor is the kind and genuinely friendly staff - if not for them, the hotel will get 0 stars.

Stayed for 3 nights, and from start to finish, we received amazing service. Jeff upon our check in made us feel very welcomed. Everyone working there was very pleasant and greeted us witn a smile for our whole stay. Room was clean and smelled clean, and modern. There was a fridge, Keurig Coffee machine with coffee (regular and decaff) and tea options, and an in room safe. Location is great too. It's around 1 km walk to Times Square, Broadway m and Bryant Park. You can walk.to many attractions the city has to offer. Won't hesitate to stay again.

A very convenient hotel, around the corner from a 7/11 if you need water or snacks, around the corner from a pizza shop, and a short walk from Penn station! Also just a few minutes from Times Square. The hotel itself is clean and cozy, though a bit smaller than what I’m used to (but it’s a dense city so I guess it’s good for the size!). Staff is very friendly and attentive. Nothing to complain about. I would stay here again!
