About this apartment rental
Located directly across from Barton Springs Pool at Zilker Park, you can be steps away from a majority of the outdoor activities that make a visit to Austin so amazing while still having the convenience of being only two miles from the center of downtown.
The Hideaway is the downstairs apartment in our newly built home, designed to accommodate out-of-town family and friends when they come to visit. With two bedrooms, two baths, an open concept, a large kitchen, and lots of beds/pullouts, it’s the perfect basecamp for families or groups of friends that are looking to explore Austin.
The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, tons of counter space, a bar top island and a dining area that seats six. The open concept extends into the living room with lots of seating, a cozy pullout sectional and another nook with a desk.
The back bedroom is tucked away off the living room with a large TV, a queen bed, private bath with tub, and a view of the woods.
The front bedroom boasts various sleeping options with a queen bed, lofted twin, and a convertible sleeper. Attached to the second bath with a large walk-in shower, it has a TV and corner view that faces the park.
Just outside the kitchen there are two small terraced patio areas built into the hill along the woods with dining for six and an area to grill. The outdoor areas are meant for hanging out, however, these spaces provide limited privacy since the area is not fenced in and faces the road along the park.
Please note that you will be renting the lower portion of this home which is setup like a duplex. Just like hotels with rooms above them or apartments there is a level of noise that travels between units. A majority of the time, there will be a family of four living upstairs. Our rates are adjusted to take this into account and if you have any reason to believe that this could be a concern for anyone in your party then we’d suggest you find another place that you would be more comfortable staying at when visiting Austin. Additionally, with the home being directly across from the park and situated along the road to the parking lots to Barton Springs, you can also expect to hear road noise and the hustle and bustle of park goers, especially on the weekends during peak times.
To access this property you will have to use stairs. The home is situated at the bottom of the hill along Azie Morton Rd. The property has a short steep driveway as the approach to an uncovered gravel courtyard that can be used to park one car, with room for a second car to park directly behind on the inclined driveway. From that parking spot guests will need to go up ten stairs to enter the home.
Prior to check-in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival. Special requests like pack and plays or high chairs can be requested prior to arrival.

Great location in Austin and close to many of the great attractions in & around Austin. The home is well laid out and very comfortable. The hosts were responsive and friendly. You can hear the pitter patter of little feet upstairs in the main home but it was minimal and not disturbing to us. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had a really nice stay with some friends. Perfect location for everything we wanted to do. Had one minor issue and had quick communication with the owner who resolved the issue. This place is nice and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!

Good place to stay, right across from park. Parking is a bit scary on steep stope of driveway. The place was clean except the floor is very dusty, since we all prefer to be barefoot at home this was a small issue where our feet got dirty quick. We rinsed and just wore shoes instead. Children can be heard at about 7am stomping and screaming but they provided earplugs so that helped too. Place was very cozy and comfortable in the dining, living room, and kitchen. Bedrooms were clean but bed was very hard and very warm. We sweated in bed a lot even with just the sheet. The host provided a fan in the closet which helped with this a lot and helped make the stay more comfortable. Overall stay rating, I would say 4/5, but the location, kindness of hosts and accommodations, and etc. Definitely all helped make it a 5/5 stay. We don't expect perfection and we could tell they tried their best to make it as comfortable as possible with known issues and provided solutions, that itself deserves 5/5 from us. Great place and definitely recommend.

Property was really nice. Only issue is parking. If you only bring one car you shouldn't have any problems. Having two vehicles was a bit much.

This property is ideally located in a vibrant part of Austin. We were able to put together a fine Thanksgiving for 11 people. Parking for more that 2 vehicles might be a challenge but we got it done as the owners were out or town. Great location close to Barton Springs and popular restaurants. Very neat place, very up to date and clean. Can’t recommend enough!

The house was very nice! I have to say for those reading reviews that if you are the type to want quiet time or privacy then this is not the house for you. It’s on a busy road and the cute family upstairs can’t help but make noise. They do provide earplugs.
Overall we loved our stay so that’s why we couldn’t give less than 5 stars.

The place was absolutely lovely and comfortable! We had a great stay and would definitely recommend and come back. The location could not be beat, especially with the proximity to Barton Springs. The sheets were also soooo soft and comfy. We all loved the adorable artwork on the cats as hills!

We visit every summer and will be staying here again! The location and size were absolutely perfect for our family of 4 + grandparents. We danced to the record player/Bluetooth every night. It’s a beautiful home. Lastly, Brandon was quick to respond and extremely kind!

Holiday week in Austin to visit friends. Loved the easy walking access to Barton Springs and Uber to fantastic restaurants. Amazingly comfortable beds. Open, relaxing design layout that made you feel right at home. Only recommendation is bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and be patient getting in and out of the steep driveway because there is a lot of traffic.

If u want to be in the middle of the action this is your place. Barton Springs Pool-Zilker Park-South Lamar-Lady Bird Lake-Downtown. The description of the property is spot on including a couple of small distractions. It is a totally private and access is private but it is below the owners home built on an incline. So there was some noise during day not at night and proximity to all that action was the trade off of being on a busy street. The owner mentioned both be neither was enough for me not to give it a 5 star.
Would definitely stay again.

Loved our stay here. The house is in a great location and we walked to many places. Brandon and Kara were extremely helpful in setting up a pack and play and high chair for my baby. Since it's the bottom floor, we did hear some noise from upstairs - people walking or running around in the morning, but it wasn't an issue for my sleeping baby. I forgot what it's like to live in an apartment but I do really appreciate the heads up Brandon and Kara gave about the noise in the listing in vrbo. Thank you so much! Would recommend!

Brandon’s place was clean, well stocked and an amazing home away from home. Three of us traveled from across the country for a memorial of a dear old friend. It was a perfect place for us to spend time together and explore Austin. We went in a 4 mile hike just across the road and swam in Barton Springs. Brandon was quick to respond when the door code didn’t work and very accommodating. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time at Brandon’s place. The place was beautiful, very clean, and very well stocked. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we could need, and the linens and beds were very comfortable. Brandon was easy to reach and very accommodating. The location was fabulous, so many great spots close by and easy to get around. We’ll definitely be back again!

Checkin process was smooth and the house had everything we needed. They were quick to respond to requests and very friendly. Excellent location right by Zilker park, very close to downtown and all other local spots. Will definitely stay again when we are in ATX.
