We were supposed to check in on a Thursday, unfortunately, a crazy weather storm moved in and dropped 16-18"s of snow and the place was on the side of a mountain, no getting to it!! We finally checked in on a Saturday, it was plowed but the roads were very treacherous and narrow, hard to get around, iced in places. The home was clean, nice but had a spiral staircase that was treacherous as well, not easy to get up and down and we are not that old. It had a gate up top so you wouldn't fall down the stairs but it was straight up and down, in the original write up explaining the home it didn't spell it out clearly, in our opinion. The bathroom downstairs (ground floor) was very large, a plus, it was chilly down there and there was a small space heater, we really did not use it. I like sleeping in a cooler room, the futon was not comfortable at all, the other bed (murphy bed) was okay, if you are a flipper (from side to side) it makes noise like you are sleeping on a slab of lumber because you are (of course a matteress is on top of it). They did give us 2 nights credit due to the storm which we were grateful for, of course we would have rather stayed there but there was NO way to get there. I realize they don't get that much snow normally but mother nature is in control. There should be a note on their page stating that there could be snow and there is no getting there and that it is on a mountain side, if we had known that we would not have chosen it as a place to stay at. We went to help our sister out, health issues so we needed to be settled and it was difficult and added to our stress. I am not blaming the owners just that it was not conducive to what we went for. I would not stay there again. The place is up for sale too. There is a fireplace, gas starter, I would spell it out to NOT wait 30 seconds to start it, you can start it right away. No dishwasher, that wasn't exciting, had a grill but we couldn't get to it due to snow, wish the guy who plowed and shoveled would have shoveled a spot to get to grill! Glad I am home! The owner was easy to reach, on the positive side!

Had a wonderful stay. It was comfortable, very welcoming and a lovely place to enjoy the forest. Loved the decks. The weather was fine at first and with multiple windows and/or doors to open, we had a nice breeze. Towards the end of the stay, we needed air conditioning, which worked like a champ. One small negative was the inability to open the downstairs exterior door without opening the deadbolt from the inside. The main door had a electronic lock that allowed us to enter using a code. However, downstairs, closest to parking, could only be opened from the inside. It would be helpful, especially when loading/unloading, to have a similar electronic lock downstairs too. Be aware the kitchen is small and gets crowded quickly if more than 2 people are using it. We danced a well coordinated ballet of people in and out of the kitchen, but be aware it can get crowded real fast. Also, downstairs is accessed via a very steep circular staircase. It can be scary for some. A couple guests were a bit heavy, so going up/down was somewhat difficult, they just took their time. A tip is to have upstairs what you need so you don't have to go up and down every time you want something. Like the small kitchen, it was doable, but you should be aware if you have seniors, children or guests who are slightly larger. Overall would give this property a 4.5 out of 5 and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights . House was easy to find, close to town center. House was very clean, kitchen was nice sized, well equipped and clean as well. Nice sized deck with scenic vistas. Large bedrooms with comfy beds. Downstairs bedroom had comfortable Murphy bed and full bath. Alexa was a nice touch as well. Willow Grove Lake was close by and offered great hiking (on the moderate + scale) and scenic views. Owners were very responsive. Would stay again. Owners graciously allowed us a noon check in time as well. Thank you.
