Worst room ever stayed in. Bed was only 12 inches off the floor and very tiny room. We are seniors, and this was not good. Very spartan room. No chairs or table. Breakfast was terrible. I do not consider breakfast a cupcake, granola bar, and apple. Not for that kind of money. We asked for a top sheet for below the comforter, and they said no. Never even saw the people running the place. Parking was terrible as they also run a restaurant and so no reserved parking for us. I had to email them to get our breakfast and they sent our Sunday and Monday breakfast on Saturday afternoon. Nice and fresh, yeah, right. My son lives fown the road from this place which would be convenient for us, but never will i set foot in that place. You should be ashamed of yourselves for even having them on your website.

The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. Very basic breakfast but as advertised. Only realised there were coffee tea facilities in the lounge area on departure.

Our room was clean. We received instructions on how to access the facilities by email. We had no contact with staff. Breakfast consisted of an apple, muffin, granola bar and cookie and a bottle of water (left in our room). The room is located above a very popular restaurant and we could hear noise from below and room above.

The Fletcher room was modern, beautifully decorated, and well thought out with access to a balcony and views of the lake. It was quiet even with a busy restaurant below. Check in super easy with an email you receive access to the outside door and the room. Breakfast-light continental set up in your room with coffee and tea available in a sitting room setup or on the balcony. The room just needs a small garbage can in the bathroom.

One night stay was perfect for our access to the airport and cross province highway. Place is basic but had a clean room and bathroom. Good parking, clear directions. Room could use a couple of luggage racks.

This was such a great place to stay. We were in the Thomas room so very spacious! The shared space was small but not many were there when we stayed. The upstairs balcony needs some work but the downstairs one was great. This is not a bed and breakfast however! There was some snacks but not a breakfast! Otherwise this was so perfect!

If you want to be able to give the best review ever, then we highly recommend The Fourth Lock. First and foremost, the owner and staff are simply amazing. To say they care abut their guests doesnt do them justice. They went above and beyond our expectations. As for the view, its simply beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are clean and spacious enough for us. If your idea of a bed and breakfast is everyone seated at a table for dinner or shared bathrooms, this is not that B&B. There is a full bar and restaurant on site. The menu has everything you could ask for; with an emphasis on seafood. The fish and chips are delicious, the scallops were out of this world and the nachos would rival any that we get in Texas. The deck is perfect to sit, read a book or simply look across at the magnificent lake. It is approximately 12 minutes to the airport, 15 or so to Sackville and maybe 25 to downtown Halifax. If you are local and just want a few days away from the daily grind, highly recommended as well. This will be our go to every time we are near the Halifax area. And in case we haven't stressed it enough, the owner, the chef and the waitstaff are top notch.

This property is directly on a main road, so there is a lot of street noise. The view is beautiful of the lake, but noisy. It’s very difficult to reach any staff on the phone. Although it’s a BnB, it’s really more an AirBnB, with no staff and a limited window when the restaurant is open, only for dinner. No breakfast available. Parking is super challenging when restaurant is busy. We landed and there was a boil water alert, the facility only gave use 2 bottles of water and never contacted us about the alert. We received a text when we landed from the City of Halifax.

While the lake view is beautiful, it has a main road and super noisy. The staff is hard to reach on the phone. It’s listed as a BnB, but it’s really an Air BnB. No breakfast and limited dining hours. When the restaurant is busy, parking is super challenging. We arrived during a boil water notice and the property only provided two small bottles of water. The property never contacted us about the alert, it was the city.

The host was so helpful! The room was clean and comfortable with a deck we sat on to enjoy our view of the lake. There is a bar and restaurant below the rooms so it was easy access for a good meal and fun atmosphere.

We really love the space. Very clean and the view was really nice. The bed is extremely comfortable. Didnt want to leave. We were a little disappointed we couldnt eat at the restaurant downstairs (open Wednesday-Sunday) as weve came there before and absolutely loved the food n beer. But maybe next time 🙂

Balcony was shared not ours, view was supposed to be over lake? Photo does not reflect actual, there is a terraced bar, electricity lines and then a busy road before lake? Bed is probably the worst i have ever slept on, when i was able to sleep. An jnch probably more gap under bedroom door, so any movement in communal area disturbed us. Breakfast was not what was expected, some cake and fruit in room, juice and yoghurt in communal fridge with a coffee machine- for tea had to boil water in microwave, for second morning breakfast it was left on floor outside our room, not a good approach.

We stayed here only because it was easy to get to from the airport. We got in very late and were greeted personally (after a quick phone call because Expedia didn't send us the instructions from the host). We left early the next morning. They supplied a nice breakfast "To go". There was a nice sitting room with coffee a fridge (water, juice, yoghurt) and deck. The room was clean. The only downside is there is no sound separation between the room upstairs. The guests upstairs left early and we could hear the suitcases rolling around and some talking. I would stay here again because it's easy to get to from the airport and was nice and clean.

The room was ensuite , clean and comfortable . However , there was no one on site to make sure everything was okay and we had problems with the people in the room upstairs making a lot of noise until 1 o’clock in the morning . We had to phone to ask for someone to help . Spoiled our first night . Second night was much better . The restaurant and bar were open downstairs on our first night and the food was very nice . Second night we ate at the Turtle Back just along the way and it was really good . An easy walk from the b and b .

It was busy when we came in, could not park until someone from the restaurant left. We got check in information before coming and codes to room. Our room was above the restaurant, and restaurant does not close until 9pm on Saturday. It had a refrigerator, no tv, the bed was about 1" off the floor, so it was uncomfortable for my partner as he is 6'4", we had a bottom sheet, 2 pillows each, and a bed spread. It had a great view of water/ sunsets. Restaurants was good, food was good. And, as others stated, we got 2 muffins, 2 granola bars, 2 pieces of fruit, 2 bottles of water in room, and it stated that yogart and juice was in main kitchen. No used to this type of B&B interaction.

Clean, comfortable, convenient to airport. Glad there was a restaurant on site as we checked in at 7:30 and needed dinner. Room looked recently remodeled and bathroom was spotless! Puzzled as to why there was a fitted bottom sheet, but no top sheet… just a thin comforter. By the time we discovered this, we felt it was as too late to ask. :-0
