Right in the central pedestrian area. Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel ideally situated in the middle. All the staff were pleasant.
Only issue is the pictures provided in Hotel.com are misleading.
If you are big built, try to avoid the hotel. The room, bed and specially the shower room is too small.

Location of course is the main attraction and convenience. Clean and comfortable property. While the shower is so tiny you can barely fit in it, it is private shower while many places offer shared bathrooms. For location, amenities and price this is a gem. Special thanks to the breakfast room staff who kept the breakfast room stocked and clean during the breakfast hours and were always friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the property and would stay there again.

The property isn’t a modern as the photos suggest. The whole place could do with a paint job and a freshen up as it is a tad dated. Overall, the place was ok. There were just a few things it was missing: no bar or safe, as advertised which was partly the reason I booked it as a solo traveller. The bathroom had a weird quirk, where the shower door didn’t close all the way (design flaw), which meant water went all over the floor and toilet bin right next to the shower. Also, because of the weird shape of the shower and close proximity to the vanity, a floor mat can’t be used directly in front of the shower as it will block the door opening. Lastly, chairs being moved back and forth on the mezzanine floors made for a rather annoying sound late at night and early in the morning, but I assume this would only affect the first floor which I was on.
Having said all that, I appreciated the reasonable prices, that breakfast was included and the receptionist was very friendly.

Our room was at the back of the hotel right opposite a bar/club. The noise was terrible. VERY loud music until 4:20am. This was a Friday night. We have stayed at this property before, also on the back, but never had music this bad before. If we go again we will request a room on the opposite side. It is a great location and value for money right in centre of town. Also, we did request a smoke free room as this has been an issue on a previous visit but sadly the room this time also smelt badly of cigarettes.

Amazing value for money. Have stayed before and will stay again. Great central location. Basic room style but has great modern bathroom. Don't be put off by the dated lobby area as rooms are not so old. Our room smelt of stale cigarettes this time but not had that before.

Was amazing people very friendly very good location , very clear room all perfect bathroom very nice a Litle small but for bath very pleasant. Is in the middle of the downtown with restaurant around but the system of their doors you don't eat any outside . I love it and yes I will stay there always when I back to Heraklion

Property is as described. a bit old and beds are not super comfortable and specially for ladies... but the location and the price are highlights of this centrally located old styles hotel. if you are a budget traveller who wants to live right in the center of the city.. this is probably the best and only option even in peak season.

Could smell sewage. Even though I paid for breakfast and didn't eat any of the pastries, staff complained that I drank too much tea (4 cups) and wanted to charge me more for it

The best location in the square centre, surrounded by great eateries, bars, cafes and shops, yet so quiet. Lovely, friendly staff too. Loved the view from the balcony. The lobby area though, needs brightening up, especially the bar and breakfast area. Great value though.

Could not lock door from inside hotel room, no lock on bathroom door, paper thin doors and walls so very noisy, had to leave key with front desk each time we left, shower was smaller than a phonebooth and got entire bathroom floor wet, bed was barely a step above sleeping on the floor

Жил в одноместном номере - комната и ванная очень небольшие по площади. Все не самое новое, но в нормальном состоянии. Немного разочаровало отсутствие холодильника и чайника в номере. Еще небольшой недостаток - окна выходят во внутренний двор и из номеров напротив люди смотрят друг на друга.
Отдельно хочу отметить труд горничной. Очень доброжелательная, меняла постельное белье раз в два дня, расставляла тапочки по местам и даже мыла окно с обеих сторон! Еще мне понравился мужчина на ресепшне, был приветлив и всегда улыбался в ответ.

Strange times as there were flash floods in Crete and when we got to the hotel there had recently been a power cut. We made a last minute booking as we were unexpectedly stuck in Heraklion as a result of the flooding.
On arrival at the hotel there were number of people in reception who had booked but who the hotel had no record. That said, our booking was on the system. The hotel was fairly basic and the en-suite bathroom tiny. However it was a perfect bolthole for the evening.

The night front desk receptionist/mgr is RUDE and UNFRIENDLY. The day man is sweet and friendly. Gave me good recommendations for restaurants in the area. The Location is a TEN hands down. Liked being in the center, walking everywhere. Overnight Parking is available 10 minutes walk from the hotel, since there’s No Street Parking. Streets are tiny, hotel room is tiny (You can’t even turn around in the bathroom without hitting something :) great value for your money. Breakfast is very limited I passed, didn’t care much for it.

Room and bathrooms were very clean. Small bathroom, but functional; looks newly renovated. Hot water. Complimentary soap smelt nice. You can ask for a hairdryer at the reception. Balcony overlooked the street where it was nice to take in the evening with some snacks and a drink on the two chairs and small coffee table provided. Good WiFi in the room, but a bit sparse on the balcony. We only found two power outlets inside the room. Balcony door had good sound isolation, but the street is generally not too noisy. Central location in front of the tourist information centre and close to the Morosini fountain. Two types of receptionist employees: Daytime receptionist was nice, nighttime receptionist could be a bit more attentive and friendly. Luggage room in front of reception, where you can leave your luggage after checkout. Thumbs up👍

The hotel is located in the city center, close to the tourist attractions. There are many restaurants and stores in the area. The reception desk is open 24 hours. The staff is welcoming and polite. The room is spacious, has a balcony and street view. The bathroom is very small. The free WiFi connection is quite weak.

Great location in the heart of Heraklion so that sight-seeing plus eating and drinking was really easy. Room was small and rather dated. No bar fridge or spare pillows/sheets. Located at the back of the building looking straight into other rooms so the curtains have to be kept closed all the time which makes things even more dreary. Bathroom was really tiny - couldn't even open the door properly.

I had a great stay at El Greco Hotel. The location is perfect: right in the center of Heraklion, a few minutes of walk to the shore, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, shops. The room was clean and the bathroom seemed to be recently renovated. The staff was very helpful and welcoming! When I visit Heraklion again I will definitely choose El Greco Hotel again!
The only problem was that the wi-fi in the room was barely working. For me it wasn't a big problem as I didn't really need it, but somebody else it might be. Everything else was perfect!

Have you ever seen a sketchy looking hotel in a movie and asked yourself why someone would book that place ? Well, that's El Greco hotel.
Woman receptionist has a bad attitude and the man over night was just weird and also had a bad attitude. Third floor smelt like vomit and the room has seen better days to say the least. The configuration was awkward, the furniture had rusty metal bars sticking out which we've cut ourselves on, the walls had holes in the them, the curtain were filthy, the windows did not lock and were easily opened from the outside and the door to the room had no additional locking mechanism for added security. All that to say, we only stayed one night and even that was difficult. I definately do not recommend this place to anyone the only positive thing they did for us was call us a cab in the morning.

Excellent city centre hotel. This is a slightly older hotel but immaculately clean with new bathroom. Obviously very well managed. Piazza with cafes and restaurants close to the entrance, but it was very quiet at night. I had a third floor room.
