Overall fine. Really liked the open concept; but the sleeper sofa is worn out. I had a friend visit for the evening and the sofa cushions got lower and lower with my legs resting on the frame of the sofa. The arm of the right side of the sofa is dipped from wear. Shower bottom was questionable for cleanliness. Think it needs a good scrub. Looked like maybe mold. The king bed frame squeaked when I would move at all. I did enjoy my stay. Think the room just needs a little tlc.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. It is conveniently located less than 1 mile from ASU where we were attending a late night play on campus. Check in was easy. I requested the top floor but was given the 3rd floor instead of the 4th but no big deal. My room appeared to be a room to accommodate a mobility challenged person. There was a mini fridge, microwave, TV and coffee maker. We went downstairs to the lobby to read and socialize. The lobby was very nice with comfortable seating. I decided to try the free breakfast however there were several guests who were attending a playoff game also staying. Breakfast appeared to be carb heavy with cereals, breads, breakfast bars, fruit and juices. I did not see any choices for a person who eats high protein low carb foods so we decided to eat at one of the local restaurants. The serving station was also filled with spilled cereal and smelled of burnt toast so it would be nice to have someone tidying up the area since the guests did not clean up after themselves. There is a Twin Peaks and a ChickFilA almost in the same parking lot. Taco Bell, Rosa’s and Chipotle are across the street. There was no noise from traffic, the hotel was relatively quiet. My only issue was that I found a very long blond hair on one of the clean towels in the shower where the new towels are stored. My daughter and I have short dark brown coily hair so unsure if this was a left over towel from another guest or from the cleaning team.

Sink in bathroom had almost no water pressure, and most of the time all we could get was a drip. We had to turn on the shower to wash our hands. We reported the problem, and the hostess at front desk told us that the hotel purposely reduced water in faucets all over the hotel. She also said that the maintenance crew was gone for the day and would not be able to look at the problem. It was 3:45 p.m.! Shower floor had mold and/or rust. Looked disgusting. Room had a peculiar smell. Breakfast was fine, but will never stay there again.

My room was dirty when I arrived and half of the stuff in the room didn't work. Then the manage decided to accuse me of smoking in my room when I don't smoke and i had my children in the room and my daughter has asthma. They need to learn how to speak to guest.

VERY dirty. Blood stains on comforters. Nothing was washed. Hair on bed sheets. Dust particles all in the bathroom sink was not wiped down. Spider webs. Absolutely disgusting.

The room was very comfortable, the beds were super soft, and the pillows were substantial in that they were good so sleeping and weren’t paper thin. I’ve never had a better night’s sleep in a hotel. There were plenty of other guests but you never heard a peep while in the room. I definitely plan on using these hotels in the future. The only thing I would change is the continental breakfast. There were tortillas for the eggs but no hot sauce or salsa.

Unfortunately we were put in a room on the first floor and whoever was at the desk overnight was constantly going in and out of that area and the door slammed every time. This went on for about 40 minutes between 1 and 2 am and again between 4 and 5 am. I went into the hall to see what the issue was but the door that was being used was around the corner and I could not see it. This happened on BOTH nights we stayed here.

The Wingate is where I usually stay when I travel to San Angelo. It’s clean and well-maintained. It’s located by many restaurants and the football stadiums for both the high schools and Angelo State. The staff is so friendly.

Check in was at 3:00 pm. I arrived at 3:06 pm and room was not ready. No attempt was made to make situation more palatable - except to hold luggage. Was told hotel was at full capacity. Because we booked our room through hotels.com, we could not change rooms and were placed into a handicapped accessible room. We aren’t handicapped and this takes away a room from someone who might be. During the first night, I felt something crawl on me. Awoke to fling a large roach across room. I killed it and didn’t sleep the remainder of the night. Next day, I went to desk to inform them. Fortunately, the mgr was present and was able to change me into a regular room (but supposedly still at 100% capacity) and the roach room was taken out of service. In between this, our room was “cleaned” but the dead roach I killed remained on the floor. Like housekeeping either ignored it or didn’t see it - bth scenarios were not acceptable. After changing room, no more issues were had. I did see pest control go into my old room for treatment and heard him say there was fries and cheetohs behind TV stand which was source of roaches. I tried the pool, but there was no umbrellas or shade so sunburn began to set in quickly in the west texas sun. Pool was dirty with insects and needed cleaning. Overall, I had a poor experience and will not be returning to that particular location.

We paid cash for 2 nights. On our 2nd day when we returned to our room our keys would not work. Come to find out they didn’t have record of us staying a 2nd night and had checked our room out and given keys to someone else. All of our stuff was still in the room. After some discussion with the lady at the desk our room was given back to us with proof that we had paid for 2 nights. However they still had no record of us in the system. The next morning at 8:45 someone tried to open our door with a room key but luckily we had the safety lock on. They did end up refunding my money for one night but it was a very frustrating and not safe feeling situation for me and my child.

Room was perfect. Room was good temperature, shower was hot, etc. The lady at the front counter needs to work on her hostess/people skills. It was like we were putting her out to get us checked in. It was about 7pm, so it wasn't a bad hour. I was impressed with everything else, but that first entrance kind of sets the tone to the whole experience. Couldn't figure out why we got that treatment.

The room was clean and the beds were soft. The pillows could use some work. I think they are old pillows and they stuff them tight into a pillow case to make them seem full and this makes the pillow half the size of a normal pillow. They are very small. I’d prefer a normal full or queen size pillow. The shower head in the restroom needs replaced. Pressure was not good. Those are the only things I can say they would be negative. Great stay otherwise.

The first room we were assigned had a malfunctioning A/C. The second room we were assigned had strained bed covers, sheets and carpet. Also, it was dusty. KUDOS to person in charge. She was very nice. She came up to the room to see. She apologized and changed all the bedding for us. She offered us another room but we were very tired from traveling, so we stayed there. Breakfast was acceptable.

When we arrived it was shift change. The girls let us know it would be just a minute because they were in the process of changing shifts which I thought that was nice instead of them ignoring us while doing what they needed to do. The beds were comfy and the room was clean.

It was easy to get too, the staff were very friendly and helpful with helping us find things to do there. The full breakfast was wonderful, and it helped to start our day. They had the best coffee I have ever tasted. The rooms were spacious, clean and easy with the elevator since we are handicapped. The room was very accommodating.

Our stay was decent…not terrible but not amazing. The room was dusty and there were stains on the carpet. The two chairs in the room were uncomfortable and made my and my husband’s back hurt. I really chose this hotel for the pool as it has a ramp and I am handicapped. Pool was ok the first day but after a sever thunderstorm, the next day it was full of leaves and dead bugs, which is to be expected, there was just nothing to clean the pool with like a net. I didn’t partake of breakfast because I would rather sleep! Over all it was a good stay.
