About this cottage rental

A luxury chocolate box cottage with wood burning fireplace, and a covered private hot tub and pizza oven within an enclosed pretty courtyard garden, perfect for couples, friends and families exploring Suffolk and nearby Norfolk.

Your cottage, which welcomes your pet dogs too at a small supplement, is set within the heart of the village near willow trees and a river, set within a pretty conservation area.

There are two historic pubs in the village of Walsham Le Willows to enjoy, The Blue Boar restaurant and inn, first recorded as brewing and selling ale in 1360, and The Six Bells, first recorded selling ale to villagers in 1423.

A fine foods village shop trading for 130 years sells high quality locally sourced foods too, fresh bread daily, homemade pies cooked each morning, and seasonal goodies, meats and game. Plus there are wines and spirits, fresh vegetables, and essentials with a personal, old world service long gone in many places. Paul Hubbard has been working in the village shop he now runs with his team since he was 13-years-old.

Both the village pubs and the shop are just a short walk from your holiday cottage, which is within the heart of Walsham Le Willows.

There is a nearby coffee shop open once a week next to the village hall and bowling green, a mobile post office visiting weekly, and a large network of walks to enjoy too with or without your dog.

There is ample free and completely unrestricted parking for your car, or cars, on the village street outside your cottage within the pretty Conservation Area.

The award winning Wyken Vineyards, only four miles away, has the Leaping Hare restaurant and country store on a 1,200 acre farm. Housed in a medieval barn, it tells the story from Suffolk farm, English vineyard, garden and plate.

Vegans and vegetarians are well catered for at the specialist The Walnut Tree inn, at Thwaite, about a 20 minute drive too.

Historic Bury St Edmunds, with a Bannatyne spa including swimming pool and restaurant with day passes available, history including a ruined abbey and pitch and putt, market and lots to see too, is just 12 miles away.
The genteel Suffolk coastal towns of Aldeburgh, 35 miles, and Southwold, 38 miles, are perfect for a day out by the sea.

Two pubs / restaurant, a village shop, walks: Walking distance. Vineyard and restaurant: 4 miles. Spa: 12 miles. Historic town of Bury St Edmunds: 12 miles. Banham Zoo: 14 miles. Seaside: 35 miles. Norfolk Broads and day boat hire at Wroxham: 40 miles. Pleasurewood Hills family theme park: 45 miles.

If Vine Cottage is booked for your chosen dates, why not ask us about Lavender, Oak, Honeysuckle cottages or Owl’s Hoot barn in the nearby village of Stoke Ash, all listed on this platform too, and chocolate box cottages with their own hot tubs.

The space:
Vine Cottage is a delightful old property with exposed beams throughout and a wealth of character and charm, brought up to modern standards with new central heating throughout and modern insulation too.

Your cottage, which welcomes well behaved dogs or other pets for a nightly supplement, has a lovely secure private courtyard garden where there is a 4 seater hot tub. The hot tub will be all ready for you on your arrival and can be enjoyed privately anytime between the hours of 08:00 and 22:00.

This is a peaceful rural area and we please ask you to be respectful of our neighbours and ensure they are not disturbed by any noise between 22:00 and 08:00, from inside your holiday home, or from your holiday cottage garden. The hot tub switches off automatically at 22:00 and reactivates at 08:00. There is a surcharge of £99 if the hot tub is activated outside of these hours, and it will be remotely switched off.

Comfortable garden furniture is ready for you, table and chairs, and a gas fired BBQ complete the inviting area.

For romantic breaks and special occasions, why not ask us to have a chilled bottle of wine and chocolates ready for your loved one? We can also put anniversary or birthday banners in the cottage. Please do ask us about these extra surprises if you are booking for an extra special stay.

Beautiful property and location, the welcome basket and games were particularly enjoyed! The pre arrival information and guides provided excellent insight and suggestions on what to do. We managed a day at the seaside and trip to the zoo and had a lovely time. Thank you

We had a great weekend away in this very clean, cosy and well maintained property. The accuracy of the photos are excellent. Communication with the property owner and managers was easy and we had no issues at all locating the cottage and accessing the premises. The hot tub was great, very clean and was checked halfway through our stay. We did have an issue lighting the BBQ, so had to cook inside, and the coffee machine is a little outdated and doesn't use regular "pods". The food at the Blue Boar was really nice and it's only a short walk down the road. Thank you very much for having us, I would highly recommend this cottage for a country getaway.

The property was exactly as described and John was superb in his communication with us. It is a tranquil place and the wood burner and hot tub really made the stay very special. There are all little touches all over the cottage which is brilliant and makes it a great place to enjoy a relaxing long weekend
