I was a bit scared by the lack of reviews for this house. Arrived late due to flight delays, found the house with no problem in the middle of the night. Check-in was easy and as described, there was however a car in the driveway which was unnerving. There were also two pairs of slide sandals on the shoe rack. After checking to make sure nobody was there, we settled in. The following morning we figured out there was an apartment in the detached garage and the laundry was shared with the resident who had to come through our patio area to use the laundry. There were a couple of occasions we needed to do laundry since we were there for a week of sports and it was occupied. Fought ants by the kitchen sink and stove a couple days but found spray and traps under the sink. There were no extra trash bags for the kitchen and messaged several times through VRBO and text with no response from the owner but we managed. Backyard could use some TLC and new patio furniture. Now for all the positives: close commute to the pool, shopping, groceries, and the beach. Bedrooms were perfect size for our group and the two full bathrooms were nicely remodeled. The house had a great vibe and was definitely cozy. The neighborhood was close to all the main roads and seemed very safe and most houses were nicely maintained. Would I stay here again, absolutely as it fit all of our needs perfect and was convenient. As another renter noted, there’s only 4 plates/bowls/saucers so we bought disposable plates.

Home was clean and neat. Beds were comfortable. The problems we had were with the aesthetics of the home. There were no pictures on the walls anywhere, no wall hangings, nothing to make the home feel cozy or lived in. There were also no instructions anywhere on how to use the microwave or the television or the washer and dryer. Many homes include a booklet or a binder with these instructions in them. I did contact the owner at one point for directions on the microwave but received no response for over an hour. I believe the owner was probably not home, but again a book with instructions would’ve been helpful. We also found the bedrooms to be quite lacking in furniture. The beds themselves were quite nice, and the black out curtains were a great touch, but there needs to be bedside stands, (other than metal outdoor tables), lamps and perhaps a chair or two that one could sit on when getting dressed. We all agreed we might possibly stay there again, but the home would need some upgrades first.

Reserved 3 bedroom for 3 couples. The AC in one of the bedrooms was not working. Waited for over 2 hours before someone called back. Was fixed the next day. The kitchen only had 4 plates, bowls, and cups. No toaster. The tile floor was not clean. A representative or owner brought us a fan, paper cups, and paper plates. Outside was full of weeds and any grass was dead. Not a fan.

I think we were their first guests, so I'm going to give them a break. The house was very clean, modern, and freshly renovated. It's located right off the 5 freeway at Lake Forest. The owners were very friendly and very responsive. Check in was a breeze. The only issues were, we needed more than three towels (but they brought extra right away) and the refrigerator. The refrigerator smelled like fish, really bad. We tried to clean it, but it didn't help. It needs to be bleached or replaced. As I said, it's a nice house in a nice neighborhood owned by nice people. Replace the fridge, and you'll have a five star property.
