About this cabin rental

Our cozy cabin offers 1200 sq. ft. of living area, including a covered front porch. The main portion of the house was built in the 1860's. The cabin has three bedrooms: one with a king, one with a queen, and one with two double beds. There are two bathrooms; one is a shower/tub combo and the other is a claw foot tub that can also be used as a shower.

Amenities:
-12 foot ceilings in the main area and exposed beams in the kitchen
-Full kitchen with cypress cabinets. Kitchen includes a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster, and coffee maker
-Enjoy a complimentary 3-course Cajun style breakfast every morning at 8:30am. included with your stay
-LONG TERM STAYS are available at a discounted rate.

We are located less than a mile from downtown Lafayette which has 30+ restaurants, art galleries, SOLA Violin Shop, museums, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, outdoor Biergarten, the Handy Stop Market & Cafe, and so much more!

We came in late on a road trip and left after breakfast. It was a great place for my family and they graciously accommodated additional family members for our breakfast last minute. I loved the Swamp Tour we did in the area, too!

We rented the cottage at Mouton Plantation for a ladies’ weekend and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Charming historic property, beautiful grounds, and added bonus of a delicious Cajun French breakfast in the main house on the morning of our departure. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Lafayette area for a weekend getaway.

Interesting old charm property with beautiful gardens and classic interior that made you feel like we were on the plantation years ago. I real lucky "FIND" for our group of 5. Would definitely come back again.

We arrived late on a rainy nite. The owner was there to greet us and upgraded us to 3 bedrooms in the main house. It was like going back in time. The plantation home was nicely renovated but still keeping its historical character. Ravi, the owner spent time explaining the history of the house and the story of each piece of furniture he has acquired. In the morning we met the chef who was preparing our breakfast.. I forgot to mention that this is a bed and breakfast place. The chef collected his fresh herbs from the garden. We walked around the property.. so gorgeous. Next time I come for a meeting at UL I will definitely get a room here again instead of a hotel. Thank you Ravi for a nice stay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was yummy. We had booked the cabin but when we arrived they said they moved us up to the main house Bed & Breakfast. Only negative I have is the bathroom situation. We had the top floor and there is only a tub, no shower. Small bathroom with a few little mirrors throughout the floor. For women this may be an issue getting dressed. That would not deter me from staying here again. Just something for the owners to consider updating.

I was celebrating for my 50th with other friends who were also turning 50. it was the perfect little cabin for us all to have fun and didnt have to worry about being to loud. The clean factor was great, the beds were so soft and comfortable. Even the sheets felt so good to sleep on. We drank coffee on the porch in our robes. its set back behine the plantation with enought privacy. The house Hostesses were great also. we got a tour of the plantation home. The breakfast was five star also cajun cuisine at its best. We also enjoying visiting with the guest from around the world.(france). It was the perfect getaway for us ladies. We did wish there were seating in the cabin for us to sit and chat in the late hours but we just gathered up on the comfy beds.. Ravi the owner was so polite and helpful. He really shared concerns for his guests.
