The hotel has a lot of history in it. The bar was nice. The rooms are descent.

Biggest disappointment was the price. We really thought we were going to have a luxury, memorable stay. Just average. Second biggest disappointment was the Thanksgiving buffet. I found a couple items I could eat but, for the price, I expected something special. Gun Room now looks like a diner. Not fancy at all. No breakfast offered on Thanksgiving but no discount on room rate either. Finally, no football games were available in our room or in the bar. Drove 6 hrs to get there and we made the best of it. But wont be returning.

Great (fun)location. Old hotel with full service. Little things, which should be relatively easy to fix e.g. bedside lamp didnt work, TV wouldnt get local channels (as listed on in room guide), wi fi was weak to not available in room, a few small ants on bathroom floor.

Old historic hotel with antique furniture and some recent upgrades to bed and bath. If the old charm is your thing, you’ll love it. If you like modern and shiny new, you won’t. There were excellent food and beverage choices. Many weekends have music or comedy shows as an extra ticket. It was great for us since we met family and this was halfway point. Overall, it worked nicely for us.

Cool beautiful vintage hotel with beautiful views of the Ohio River. Spent some time sitting in the lobby listening to check-in.The staff is so friendly and eager to accommodate the guests. The town had lots of historical, natural and commercial attractions. Strongly recommend.

Tiny room and even tinier bathroom. Didn’t feel clean. Bad for in elevator. Dining options and food were very good.

So, there is no free breakfast if you are staying on the weekend despite all the advertising that breakfast is offered. Some of the throw pillows on the bed were stained. There was obvious upkeep needed in the facility.

Loved staying in the old place. Your room and bathroom will be small. Our room was musty, like it had been closed up. Every window in the lobby and room was filthy, carpet felt grubby, but furnishings, sheets and towels were super clean

This property is old and dated basically worn out.
The toilet in our room is so close to the sink we cannot use it in the sitting position. The furniture is old and sone nice antique pieces but all the chairs need restuffing. We could not use the ac in our room it was too loud to sleep or have a conversation on arrival they put us in the lesser garage room than we had booked and it took a lot of conversation to get it changed and they blamed Expedia for everything.

Loved the history of this great hotel. . . felt very .romantic .. . peaceful. . .just put us back in a more peaceful time! Yes .. romantic & we are in our 70's!! ha! It was a great way to slow down .. .felt like a wellness break! The area. . is gorgeous & we had a fantastic dinner at Austyn's . .. just across the street . .the river walk area is so beautiful .. plus all of the cool things you could do in the area. . .cannot wait to go back!!

I believe the oldest hotel in the oldest city in Ohio. Great restaurant, bar, free breakfast, great view of the Ohio River and all within walking distance of all the cool things in downtown Marietta. Across the river in West Virginia is a great restaurant as well, the Da Vinci and River Town Steakhouse is also excellent. And come September, they have an awesome paddle wheel fest. Great staff as well. Very friendly and accommodating.

Old riverboat hotel, furnished with antiques. Great location right on the river. Lobby/lounge gorgeous. Standard rooms are cramped, if you want space, you’ll pay for it. Service in bar is slow. Breakfast is pretty good standard fare.

Affordable price is due to overall shabbiness of this grabd old hotel. Lacks such amenities as clock in room, handy places to charge phone, hearing aid batteries, etc. Climate control kept temperature in control but not humidity. (Everything felt damp.)

Check in and check out were not friendly. Room was small and cramped. I even booked king riverfront room. There were ants all oversmall bathroom. Room was stuffy with only a window a/c. Did not tell us there was a rooftop patio for smoking and sitting. Another guest told us. Our first visit to Marrietta was miserable!
