#2 - six seat Golf Cart is available starting at $69 per day only for our Escape Away Beach House guests - best rate guaranteed! The $69 rate is effective if it is rented for every day of your stay. Daily rental is $109 per day otherwise.

By golf cart, at 20 miles per hour, it takes 10-15 minutes to San Pedro town center. There are fun stores, cafes, resorts and restaurants to see or visit all along the way.

We had 9 total. Two families with 4 adults and 5 kids ages 12-17. Alan and Dorita made sure we were taken care of. We didn't have any meal request and just told Dorita to surprise us. We loved every meal and no complaints from the kids either. The house was clean and well kept. Great location with about an equal drive to Town or Secret Beach. We went to Secret Beach 3 times and we enjoyed the Waterpark area the best. Jose' made sure the beach was cleaned up each day and prepared a beach campfire for us a couple of nights. He also took us out snorkeling to a couple nearby spots and around the docks. Space was limited inside with 9 of us but we had great weather and spent most of our time at the beach. There is a great little convenient/wine store called the Winey Gringa that we went to for ice/drinks/snacks as well as a couple restaurants about a 1/2 mile North. We had a great time and I highly recommend staying here!

All 9 of us (from 2 year old granddaughter to Grandparents) were comfortable in the house and any issues were quickly addressed by Allan and Dorita and family. Dorita is an excellent chef. We loved the entire family downstairs and our experiences snorkeling, Mayan Temple, and cave tubing. Would definitely visit again.

4 childhood friends meet up to celebrate 50 trips around the sun. This was our first trip to Belize and we were not disappointed. Alan met us at the airport with the golf cart and led us back to the house. On our arrival the beach was pristine white sand, despite the daily influx of Sargassum. After a long day, we were greeted by an amazing chicken curry that Dorita had waiting for us. Dorita and Alan are gems, providing amazing meals, recommendations and company. As four traveling mom’s we were pampered with the home cooked meals and NO dishes. One evening Alan treated us to fresh coconuts from the yard. We loved getting to meet their children and family dogs Conch and Laila. We did two excursions with No Worries. One was full day snorkel trip where we swam with sharks , saw a manatee and snorkeled the Hol Chan reef. We were picked up and dropped off from the dock a short beach walk from the home. For the second we went to Lamainai Mayan ruins and it was planned from pick up to drop off, including transfers and excellent guides. Secret Bach was our favorite spot where we spent 3 days hanging out in the crystal clear turquoise water. The house is perfectly situation half way between San Pedro town and secret beach. I read the negative reviews and cannot understand what the others were complaining about. I hope that I can return soon with my family and if I do, we will stay at Harmony House again.

While the listing is not accurate (no washer/dryer, no pool or spa), the hospitality and care of Alan and Dorita were life changing. The food was out of this world, and included 100% in the price, which I did not expect. They bent over backwards to ensure we had a wonderful time - and we certainly did. We will be returning!

Our family had a great time for the week. There were 5 of us staying in the house and it was very comfortable. Alan and Dorita took good care of us from the minute we arrived at the airport until we left. Dorita fixed delicious meals with something different each meal. We enjoyed talking with Alan and Dorita daily. They always coordinated our meal times with anything we had going on. The house location is fantastic. It is a short ride to Secret Beach and does not take long to drive into town. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to return again soon.

We travelled to San Pedro for a 40th birthday celebratory trip with seven best girlfriends. We absolutely loved our stay at the house and all that San Pedro had to offer us - sun, sand, beaches, ocean and good food. Alin greeted us at the island airport and was already accommodating and welcoming. We stopped at a grocery store to pick-up any snacks, alcohol or supplementary supplies for our stay. Upon arrival at the house, Alin showed us our beach accommodation, and gave us his direct contact so we could reach out "24/7." His wife, Dorita was the incredible chef for our entire stay. And we ate like QUEENS! She easily accommodated a gluten, dairy and corn allergy without hesitation. The variety of food that was offered was amazing, and we felt we ate some traditional Belizean meals (FRY JACKS!). The house was great but Alin and Dorita truly made it a HOME for us. We truly loved everything about the trip, but if we could offer some constructive feedback. The accommodation listing mentions access to a "pool." We thought this pool was within walking distance of the house - it is not. We took the five minute golf cart ride to get to it. It was a nice spot but we learned a lot of nearby hotels offered a pool with a purchase of a drink at the bar. It's not 'part' of the listing. There was construction of the house next door - it didn't bother us much but could some people. The sea grass off the beach is normal and Alin worked VERY hard to clear it multiple times a day.

We had such a wonderful time, it was hard to go back to Colorado! There were three of us staying for 9 days. Alan picked us up and dropped us off at the Tropic Air terminal which is only 15 minutes from the house. Dorita, his wife, fixed us delicious meals daily with no repeats, also everything is fresh and homemade! The cuisine was local and just amazingly good. She does the dishes and the grocery shopping too! The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and feels very spacious. Everything was nice and clean. It is so nice to have Wi-Fi and you don’t need electrical converters, it’s just like in the US. Showers have nice hot water and good flow. We enjoyed talking with Alan and Dorita daily, they ask what time you would like each meal to coordinate with any excursions. Be sure to say hello to Laila and Conch! Very sweet family pups! Alan kept the beach groomed and had kayaks and paddle board ready. We used a golf cart to get into town for personal treats and beer for the beach. We used two tours with No Worries to see Altun Ha, cave tubing, Hol Chan reserve, Caye Caulker and shark ray alley. All a must see! Overall we were very impressed and would return!😊

Dorita really spoiled us by cooking for us:) Alan picked us up from the water taxi and dropped us off at the airport when we left. The golf cart was all we needed for transportation around the island. The house is not huge, but we spent most of our time outside on the deck or on the beach when we were there. We used the tandem kayaks a couple of times.

We arrived at Tropic Air a little early and didn't realize it until we were through security, that they had put us on an earlier flight. I went on the VRBO website and contacted the Owner (Jerry). Within minutes he contacted Alan (Caretaker) and gave us his number to coordinate pick-up. We were at baggage claim and Alan texted us that he was there with our golf cart. Now that's a responsive host! When we arrived, the road in was a little iffy, but we found out after that Alan and Johnny are building a new road; the old road was along the beach. The property is wonderful: sandy beachfront, which Alan and Johnny are constantly raking. Alan and Dorita (Johnny, Jose and Alin) are great hosts and great caretakers. We took advice from other reviews and let Dorita plan our meals; we were not disappointed. The meals were delicious. It was a novel experience for us having a chef who shops, cooks and washes the dishes. We really enjoyed getting to know Alan and his family and did activities with them like fishing, pulling coconuts down and eating them. We will definitely be back. We stayed for 8 days but will be back for a longer stay next time. Jerry suggested using Mr. Hill for the excursions; I'm glad we did. He booked our excursions (some are his, but he also looked after the Blue Hole diving and others). When there were issues, Mr. Hill looked after all the rescheduling and informed Alan, who updated us. The weather was really great while we were there. Only one day with rain.

We were disappointed with pretty much everything. We never wrote a review online but we sent manager a private email telling him some of the things that weren’t right and today we saw a review from feb 6 basically stating exactly what we found. This means our email fell on deaf ears. The family living there were very nice. We loved their dogs but don’t expect to lie in as they do bark from early morning. The menu was never discussed with us daily and we were given what they would eat so we literally had 2-3 breakfasts only there and preferred to eat out the rest of the time as their cleanliness and choice of food isn’t for everyone, no offense to them. If you like some form of tacos or burritos, breakfast, lunch and dinner it would be ok. The beach was terrible. Smell from tons of seaweed not cleaned up prevented us from using the beach at all. You couldn’t even get to the water for seaweed The mosquitoes and sand fleas were rampant due to piles and piles of seaweed everywhere. Golf cart very old and we actually had the wheel literally about to fall off one day and we were very fortunate for this to happen close to the house or this could have resulted in an accident. This was definitely the worst vacation we have ever had. We were hoping that the faults we addressed in sept 2023 would have been corrected and now we feel bad that we didn’t write an honest review online because I’m sure the person who wrote review feb 6 wouldn’t have gone We still love Belize

The house was pretty much as described. The staff that lives onsite, Alan and Dorita, are INCREDIBLY helpful, kind, and they cooked DELICIOUS meals. They were very accommodating. I didn’t know until we got there that they stayed on site, but they quickly became friends with us and we enjoyed their company. It was really nice to have local guides as resources. We also did the Mayan ruins and cave tubing and it was totally worth it. We stayed for 6 days and it was GREAT! Would definitely stay again, but only if Alan and Dorita are the caretakers/chef.

We stayed for one week after spending a week on the other side of the island. We enjoyed this side more. It was less windy, close to secret beach and found the road to be much less bumpy! It seemed too good to be true to have all meals taken care of by Dorita and we were so thankful for her! Everything was incredible, we didn't want to eat anywhere else it was so good! Alan was the most helpful person I've probably ever met, we felt so spoiled! For each request, he responded immediately and happily. My kids (2 and 4) loved playing with Alin and constantly are still asking to go back and see her again. I was surprised to find out that there wasn't a pool available anymore since booking, but with the beautiful, warm, and really calm ocean right there, it wasn't something we missed at all. We had the most wonderful stay and are already recommending to friends. Dorita and Alan and their family are truly such gems! I sincerely hope we can visit again!

Listing says pool and spa, fails to mention 7 miles away from house? Once owner told me we could use the one seven miles away but have to buy drinks?? Two kayaks,, nope One old broken one in driveway as you drive in with all the old golf cart junk And one ragged one in front Picture of dock and palapa,, not by this house Bikes? Washer and dryer,, washer in dirt under house,, Comunication,, nope Then host wants to charge me more for one extra person!! We only ate breakfast,, didn't want to chance lunch or dinner. We all thought wrong house when pulled in😕 The couple that live there to take care of it very nice. Barking dogs every morning Freezer scary dirty. We have several vrbo's and strive to make our adds exactly as property is., And we stay in every unit min twice a year to make sure not missing any details that need attention,. Master AC, ticks constantly, could not run it and sleep So tryed to open windows instead, won't stay up. Thru away all the over two years old stuff in fridge No soap in master shower, and soap at sink doesn't work. For sale sign at road,, will NEVER sale with the lack of any attempt of curb appeal. Trees and brush plowed down on driveway and rotting and smells. Loved Belize,,, great experience else where, just so let down by this part of our trip

Alan and his assistant met us at the airport as scheduled. They led us to the house and took care of our luggage. Alan gave us an overview of the house and the golf carts. He was very helpful throughout our stay. Dorita is an amazing chef and together with Alan, they provided delicious meals each day! Alan and his son kept the beach clean throughout our stay as well. The house was comfortable for our group of 6 adults. Views from the porch and lounge chairs at the beach were spectacular. Alan and Dorita's three dogs were friendly and fun to interact with throughout our stay. We all fell in love with Kong :) Thanks for a great stay.

Poured rain for 4 days, no dryer not enough railing on ypthe top of the stairs, only two chairs on porch so had t drag two out of the living room whenever we all wanted out. Manager and family were wonderful. Food was great!

This house is the perfect combination of vacation property and feeling like family. Darita, Alan, and Johaney ensured we had anything we needed... we left all meals up to them to decide on except for a birthday celebration which they prepared to its finest. We said that not one meal was disappointing, we ate local and experienced some of the most amazing dishes. We had 6 adults and there was plenty of room for all of us. Having a private beach and deck made each morning and evening a joy to sit around and enjoy the view. We highly recommend this property and will for sure be looking at coming back again. Hugs were given when we left... they are like an extended family to us now.

The family on site takes care of transportation to and from airport, cooking, cleaning, keeping beach raked, and anything else you need. Their kids are fantastic with helping, answering questions, and played with our kids. The food Dorrita made was amazing! Alan will do anything to make your vacation awesome; he even knocked down fresh coconuts for us and cut them so we could drink fresh coconut water. They begin to feel like an extension of your family and they are what makes this VRBO what it is! Thank you guys!

You won’t find better people than Alan and Dorita. Their family went way beyond and we enjoyed them. It was like they were a part of our family forever. Their kids hung out with us, explored, played games and ate with us. The location is at the turn off for Secret Beach so that is so convenient. It’s far enough away that the noise and lights of downtown to ruin the view. But close enough that we can go into town any time. It’s our third trip to Belize and we will always stay with Alan and his family from now on.

Our family of four had a marvelous time during our stay. The beauty of watching the sunrise and sunset was exceptional! We would set our alarm to assure we would see sunrise. Carlos and his staff provided everything that we needed and were so accommodating and personable. We communicated with the staff, and they prepared delicious meals, an added bonus They even cooked the fish we caught off the dock. Yummy!!!We also used "No Worries Tour" for all of our excursions and their service and expertise were commendable. Mr. Hill and his staff were attentive and made our time enjoyable. The only disappointment we experienced was dealing with the Seagrassum. No one to blame but the condition of our world. They did their part in trying to manage it. We would love to visit again!

I'm not one to write a review but the service provided was above and beyond and I could not go without letting others know about this gem of a property with amazing above and beyond service. Allen, Dorita and their family are what make the property a 5 star property. They were always there to help us. The best fishing we had wasn't with our guides it was at the property with Allen, Johnny and his son Jose. They showed us how to cast the sardine net where to fish. I caught more fish and had more fun fishing with Allen and Jose than we did with our guides. Dorita is an amazing cook always so accommodating with our schedule. We got to experience Belizean food everyday breakfast, lunch, and dinner with not one meal we didn't all enjoy. On our first day Allen helped us get the kayak out to the water and gave us some tips on where to go and what to avoid. Daily Allen was out getting rid of the sargassum to make the beach clean and inviting. Their family was always there for any questions or help. Wonderful people, fun times, good food, and great service. It was truly the best service we have had in a very long time.

The four of us - 2 adults and 2 older teens - had a fantastic week in Belize here! Property was great. Very clean and comfortable. We loved the location - outside of town, but a short jaunt to get there. And also close to Secret Beach - which is an absolute must do. We booked excursions through Mr. Hill - snorkeling, fishing, Mayan ruins, cave tubing, and the ATM cave. They were all flawless and excellent. He picked us up and dropped us off right at the house every time. The food was awesome! Dorita is a fantastic cook and came in and prepared meals on our schedule. We literally only went out to a restaurant once the whole week - and that was because the all-day snorkeling tour dropped us off to a restaurant for lunch. We really, really liked the food. Alan was super helpful and always available when we needed anything - like launching the kayaks or resetting the modem or building us a bonfire at the beach complete with beach chairs surrounding it. He also put in a lot of hard work clearing the seaweed from the beach. My entire family really enjoyed the island and getting to know Alan and Dorita. We're looking forward to booking a return trip.

We stayed in the escape away Belize Harmony house at the end of June. It was a wonderful trip and experience. The house is as advertised, Ambergis Caye is a wonderful place, and most importantly, Alan and Dorita and their family are amazing host! We had 7 stay in the house and had plenty of space. Dorita’s cooking was amazing, and Alan and their son, Jose, made sure everything else was taking care of. The week were there the winds were pretty high which meant a lot of sargassum washed up on the beach. That made the beach hard to use, but Alan and his crew worked very hard to try and clear the beach. With that said, the road to the secret beach is very close to where the house is, and we ended up going there most days. If the seaweed is bad, we highly recommend Secret Beach. My wife and I just returned from a few days down in San Pedro with our three boys (15, 13, 9) and it was incredible. Quite honestly, we cannot recommend this enough. The home was the perfect size for us - three bedrooms, with one being a bunk, so room for everyone to have good space. The kitchen/dining/living area was perfect for congregating around the amazing meals (more later on that) and for family game time when we weren't outside. The location is great - about 25 minutes on a golf cart to downtime and the same to Secret Beach. You're far enough away from the crazy, but close enough to get to what you want/need without any issue. Alan and Dorita (the hosts) are incredible. Dorita's cooking is out-of-this-world. Our kids aren't picky, but it's hard to satisfy all of them all of the time, and Dorita nailed it each time. We all looked forward to every meal. And she even adapted to the day we went fishing and made an absolute feast with our catch! Alan took care of our every need. He went so far as to notice our sons were playing soccer in one area and there was grass that they were having to play around, so he pulled it all up to make sure they had a field. He's truly a great host. Mr. Hill from No Worries stopped by our first night and coordinated three great trips for us - cave tubing/monkey spotting/Mayan temples on one day, fishing one day, and snorkeling one day. Cannot recommend these guys enough. And on our fishing day, we landed over 50 fish!

Another amazing stay with an Escape Away property! Everything was amazing! Darita’s cooking was exquisite….and plentiful, and she was so accommodating with each of our preferences….all 6 of us. Alan was available at all times, ensuring we had everything we needed. He even found a desk for me to use for our entire stay, as I had to work remotely. He and his nephew worked tirelessly to clear the sargassum from the beach for us, they set up a glorious beach fire (on multiple nights!) for us. Our stay was perfect and we are looking forward to our time here, again, in October!!

First time to Belize and wasn’t sure what to expect. I can tell you that that the property managers ( Alan and Dorita along with there family) were absolutely amazing! They were there for our every need! Amazing food they cooked and just wonderful people. All we had to do was just relax and go do whatever we wanted. They truly made it a vacation! Looking forward to going back!

Dorita and Allan were amazing, they provided us with local info, helped with anything we needed, and the food Dorita made was AMAZING. Can't stress how nice it was to have gourmet food just on the table for us. She did the shopping, cooking, and cleaning, and everything was fantastic. We loved the island and the golf carts. The beach was unfortunately not usesble due to the high volume of seaweed all along the coast of rhe Island and mainland. It's about a 20 min golf cart ride (fun and lots if bars along the way :) to the beach on the leeward side of the island.

This is the first time we have used VRBO outside of the USA versus going to a resort. We traveled with our family which include 3 children, ages 8-11. Escape Away Belize included more culture than we could imagine. Anything that we felt was lacking at the accommodations were 10 fold made up by the caretaker/cooks family and their eagerness for us (and our children) to have a truly amazing trip. We flew into Belize City and took the water taxi to San Pedro island. Getting through customs and airport during spring break was about 20 minutes for our family of 5 versus the 3 hours that was recommended on water taxi site. We were able to call the water taxi and get on an earlier ship. We highly recommend their shuttle service and the customer service was excellent. We arrived in San Pedro about 3 hours earlier than expected. We did not know we could have left bags with water taxi as we explored downtown. Not knowing the area, culture etc we were very nervous. Unfortunately, due to preparing for other guests, the house could not check us in early. We rented a golf cart for the owner so when Alan and his son, Jose, picked us up then we were able to get the golf cart. They stopped by the store for snacks, beer, and water on the way to the house. On arrival to the house, Dorita (Alan’s wife) had a freshly prepared dinner for us and Alan carried everything to the house. This was just the start of this wonderful family trying to make our vacation truly special. Alan and his son, Jose, took our boys fishing with them towards the end, they would get them their favorite ice cream and Alan/Dorita was always available for questions plus all the most amazing food. We ate out a couple of times but none of it tasted as good so we all agreed we preferred eating at home! Specific advice for families: Bring everything you need. I had gotten lax about packing figuring “I could buy it” but this was the first trip that we honestly couldn’t just buy whatever we are missing. They do not have a washer/dryer like we do home…. Pack enough clothes… you do not want to be like me spending a half day doing laundry. This has been by far our favorite trip but it wasn’t just being on an island (we have traveled to Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, etc) but the people/culture. They truly welcome you on the island and want you to be there-enjoying yourself. This house is unique and we highly recommend!

Staying at the Escape Away in San Pedro made our entire trip to Belize. The location couldn't be more perfect. It's on the reef side of the island, close to the entrance to Secret Beach and about a 20 minute golf cart ride to town. Renting the golf carts is a must. The house was comfortable for 3 adults and two teenagers. The property is well maintained. The porch is a great place to drink your coffee and watch the sunrise. The people of the island are all very welcoming, kind and helpful. With that being said, what really made our vacation special was the house hosts, Dorita and Alan. From the amazing meals to arranging our tours, anything we needed they were happy to accommodate. We were even lucky enough to get to spend time with their kids who are just the sweetest. They treated us like family and we will forever be grateful.

The best part of this property was the caretakers- A sweet family that’s willing to serve you and make delicious food for your meals. The beach view was beautiful, though unfortunately most of the beach on this side of the island has quite a bit of trash. The hosts were willing to rake up the seaweed each morning for us, which definitely was appreciated. The house itself was fine, good water, pressure with hot water and no major issues. The two main bedrooms share a bathroom and then there’s an additional space with bunkbeds that has a toilet and a shower, but no privacy door to them. This location is just a short golf cart ride north of town as well as a short ride across the island to secret beach. We appreciated the caretaker, helping us, arrange some tours with the local guide, as well as helping us with our luggage at arrival and departure.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Alan and Dorita provided us with remarkable service and delicious meals. We can't wait to return to enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness this property has to offer.

We truly want to let everyone know that our family will never forget our incredible therapeutic massage on the beach by Coral Day Spa, snorkeling trips, fishing adventures, fresh coconut milk and incredible meals that Dorita prepared, which are only a few of our favorite things! My kids are so excited to show all of their friends back home the shells they picked up on the beach. We ate fresh vegetables from the garden for our meals and fresh coconut milk every day. Thank you Jerry for suggesting that we rent your convenient golf carts, wow they were fast and having 2 carts came in handy. The house had everything we needed and Dorita was an excellent host who brought us fresh towels every morning. Alan always raked the beach every morning and he made sure we got anything that we needed. We didn't realize the temperature is always between 75-85 degrees all year. Every morning my husband and I walked on the beach and swam in the warm sea together (so amazing). I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back! We highly recommend the Escape Away Belize Harmony Beach House to our friends and relatives.
