we arrived a bit early and our room was not ready. the desk asked for my cell and would text me, it never came. When we went back to the desk at 4:00 the keys were waiting. the room was too small for the king bed and wall mounted TV, i had to duck to not hit into the TV. the cable wire as exposed around the room to the connecting box that the lid was laying to one side. The shower plate was installed opposite to the water temperature and my wife was scalded by extremely hot water. the restaurant took our breakfast order and it was delayed by 30 minutes and there was no apology or offer for compensation for their error.

Very convenient location to many great places. It’s clean and quiet. They have a nice bar and very good breakfast on the porch.

Everything was awesome, but I suggest perhaps a picture or two of a lighthouse, boat, beach, or ocean on the room walls. This is since I am a little claustrophobic when there is nothing on the wall to break up the color scheme a little.

The property is old, so therefore has lots of character quirks & floors that slope & windows that don't close quite right, etc. We paid the extra for an ocean view & were disappointed that unless you were standing at 1 of the 2 windows, one of which had an AC unit in it we weren’t expecting to hear all night, you couldn't see the ocean. We thought we'd be able to sit in chairs and look at it out our window. Nope. Spending the extra money for the view wasn't worth it. There were no room darkening curtains, just blinds. That's sad. Our room floor wasn't vacuumed well as I was stepping on sand from the moment we got there. But the bed seemed cleaned & was comfortable. Apparently each room at the inn is uniquely laid out, no two are alike.
The Ocean 7 restaurant on site... huh. Both times we wanted to get a table, once for dinner & once for late lunch, the hostess was less than friendly. We went somewhere else for dinner. For lunch, there were lots of open seats on "the porch", yet she made couples sit at a small 2 person table even if they requested a 4 person one, rather rudely. One couple even walked out after waiting almost 10 mins & never saw a waitress after being seated. Food was ok. Cocktails drinks were good!
We were surprised by the live band music that was there. Music itself was good, but we went for peace & quiet, so we couldn't sit quietly on the porch nor in our room until they left at 10pm. We would give the inn another chance based on the other nice staff!

The Inn at Cape May was a great place to stay with the family. Good food, clean rooms, and the location was perfect.

Love the quaintness of this property and town. Will return.

For this price only the proximity to the beach is worthwhile. Rooms are very small furniture spartan. Not a room to spend anytime in
No amenities for bathroom - ?? Fascial hand soap discontinued. Limited towels
Breakfast $8 coupon doesn’t go far . Better to go elsewhere for these prices and accommodations

Noisy, no refrigerator in room no water the lounge chairs only limited to 11 am not like other hotels they let u use them for the day.

The location was great and we had a room with a view of the ocean. There is free parking right across the street. Our room was on the 4th floor. The stairs were easy to use, and the elevator is very old and you need to call for assistance with it. The room was small and the floor slanted so much so the head of the bed was on blocks. My husband dropped chapstick and it rolled all the way across the room. The bathroom is very small with no counter space what so ever. Not even room to set a plastic cup down. There is a pool but it is shared with other hotels. I would suggest finding another place and we would not stay again based on price and what you got for the price. We did not have a bad experience but just feel would could have done better.

Highly recommend! Was an absolutely beautiful stay, excellent staff, great food, perfect location, clean and just an overall great experience. Love this place and wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Old inn with lots of charm. Could use more attention to details with room decor and amenities. Staff was attentive but spread thin at the bar/restaurant. Rooms do not come standard with refrigerators so if needed it will need to be requested for an extra charge.

The bed was slanted and my feet were higher than my head there was a new bed and the bathroom needed a lot of work they changed the breakfast menu and we felt it was not for the better.

The Inn is a pleasant place to stay. Like most B&B and inns in Cape May it was built in the 1800's. So it is old and not everything is perfect. There were at least two handimen working all day doing maintenance on one thing or another; it was not a bother. The hotel staff were excellent- very attentive and offering assistance. The food options (coffee bar, porch/bar/pub, and full service restaurant) were very good. The rooms and common spaces were as clean as they could be. The room we stayed in was very small (is what it is) but could have been better furnished. All in all it was a pleasant stay and if we were to visit Cape May again we would definitely consider the Inn of Cape May.

Great place to stay at Cape May
3.0 / 5.0
We stayed at the Inn at Cape May from June 11-14th. We were given a room on the 5th floor. There is an extremely old (cool) elevator but you must ring a buzzer for the staff who will operate the elevator. We actually found it difficult to rely on somebody in order for us to go in or out.
We were unhappy with the tiny tiny room. It’s in much need for a makeover and the view was horrible. We did ask for another room but they only had a suite and they would charge an additional $450!! Needless to say, we stayed in our tiny 1 double room.
The staff were very nice and accommodating otherwise.
I wouldn’t return to this Victorian style hotel as I would prefer something with a view, a larger room, lower floor and easy access.

We stayed in a Demi room which is pretty small but fantastic for the price compared to the nightly rates everywhere else. There was a parking lot, restaurant, coffee shop and pool. Plenty of outdoor seating. The room rate came with restaurant coupons, beach passes and free beach chair/ umbrella rental. The beach is across the street. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping. One block over bicycle rentals to explore west cape may and the lighthouse.

Classic Old Hotel built in the 1800’s. Everything was fantastic. The only exception, the rooms haven’t been updated to accommodate today’s tech gadget reality. We’ve got IPhones, Iwatches, and breathing machines that need outlets.

Worst place I've stayed in over 40 years travelling, totally killed the mood during our stay. Absolutely not worth the price even at half the rate. An old hotel in poor condition, looks to have last been updated around 1920. Pictures on the website are not what you get, room was plain and small with no discernable style or attempt to decorate. No chairs, nowhere to charge your devices (except next to the sink). Extension cords for everything with the ones for the TV hanging in your way as you need to duck to get around the bed. Wind blew through the poorly installed window AC all night. Bathroom was a joke for its size and outdated fixtures, with the smallest toilet known to man placed in an awkward corner with a sloped in wall. If you are over 6' don't bother staying here. Took over 5 minutes for the trickle of water in the sink to get warm (forget hot) so no way to shower in the small unit. Only positive: Front desk and bell staff were very nice. Skip the restaurant, the staff seemed annoyed we were there, food was meh with an $8 voucher for your $20 breakfast. Small, inconvenient, staff-only operated elevator and limited un-controlled parking means you might have to park on the street and pay (we did) with no reimbursement. Very poor choice on my part as there are a lot of nicer places that cost less nearby.

Our room was terrible. It was poorly designed and you can tell the hotel just does things with minimal effort. Our bathroom was horrible. Incredibly dated with virtually no water pressure. The only saving grace was the bed and the room was pretty clean. Staff were friendly enough and the location is good. Overall a mediocre experience.

Quaint Inn with views of the ocean and cute rooms. Has in house dinning, happy hours, and convenient walk to shopping and other stores. Location is excellent but also means noisy evenings. But the room fan helps.

Very nice staff, we were able to check in early and get ready for the wedding we were attending that day. The Porch staff was great and the young man that opened the door was so polite and respectful.I wasnt able to take a bath due to the stopper wasnt working (water drained out). It was a little warm in the room. Otherwise It was a very pleasant stay...

the room was very small
no chair, no night/side tables. no wall decorations, no clock, a king size bed and a small dresser a TV and a bathroom,
no wall decorations and nothing else, very sparse for the money we paid, There were very few quests and we were not offered an upgrade, although it probably would not have mattered.

This was a great location, right across from the beach and walkable to the downtown shopping. I love the old building and architecture, but know that that entails old time issues like a small room and bathroom. There was plenty of parking. The guest services were very friendly.

Wonderful hotel close to everything in Cape May . Great breakfast too !

Quick stay for a night out in Cape May. Nice place to stay and over half the price of a very popular place within walking distance of The Inn. Across the street from beach access and within walking distance to a lot of local bars, restaurants and shopping. Restaurant with a good breakfast, on premises. Place was very clean and cozy with a nice fireplace in the lobby. Room was a little small but clean and comfortable. Only issue was lack of water pressure and water didn’t get very hot in the shower. Definitely recommend.

The staff was so friendly. Even though it was winter and there was nothing much to do around the city, it felt peaceful to be there.

Great location!!

It's a cool place and very clean. I stayed just 1 night and that's probably all I could ever do. The room was very small up on the 4th floor. Bathroom had no horizontal space to hold items. The restaurant had very slow service for breakfast but the food was good. Customer service could be more upbeat and friendly. Location is perfectly convenient to walk everywhere, which we did.

Great location for this quaint old building. Lots of character, right across from the beach, nice bar and restaurant right on site and several more within walking distance. Loved it!!
