A modern architectural gem with industrial design. Located in West Lawrence minutes from Rock Chalk Park, Clinton Lake, and downtown Lawrence. Space for your group with kitchen/living room areas on both levels. Sleeps nine, up to 12 with pull-out twin and queen beds.

The house sits on the crest of a hill and is aptly called "the Vista" due to the views in all directions. Experience the sights and sounds of the country, including nearby wildlife: coyotes, cows, roosters and more.

This is a rural property with a farmland feeling. There are two adjoining neighbors with acreage on either side. One neighbor is a large house in the distance. The neighbor on the other side is nearer and has some farm animals including dogs, chickens and a rooster. You may go to sleep to the sounds of coyotes and toads and awake to deer in the front yard and roosters crowing.

Please note that when hiking on the property you may encounter snakes and bugs. Because the Vista is outside city limits, it is dark at night. Flashlights are available throughout the house.

- Jack-and-Jill-stye bathrooms on both levels: four half baths (two on each level) and a dual head shower/jetted tub (upper level) and dual head shower (lower level)
- two laundry rooms with Bosch washer/dryer combo, one on each level
- south-facing deck on the upper level with lake and sunset views.
- south-facing patio on lower level with lake and sunset views. Includes solo fire pit.
- shaded west deck for dining or relaxing with table seats 6.

We rented the property to visit our daughter at KU and to celebrate Thanksgiving early with my wife’s family. Other than K-State getting the victory- we had a great time and enjoyed being together at this beautiful property. We highly recommend- it is well maintained and was as advertised. We would certainly rent again.

We have a group of friends that graduated together from KU, and we get together every few years. This year, 8 of us came to Lawrence for a BBall Game and a FBall Game. The house 20 minutes west of the University was very comfortable and convenient for us. Everything was organized and provided to make our stay enjoyable. The beds were all comfy. There was plenty of seating indoors for us to socialize. The outdoor patio and decks with beautiful views of the lake and prairie are a special treat with a fire pit and plenty of seats for lounging. Darrell and Maria were accessible and gracious the entire time. We would definitley return to their house.

My adult sons and one adult grandson and I came to Lawrence from Georgia for a football game. This home was one of the highlights of our long weekend stay. Everything at the home was as stated/written. Upstairs and downstairs were really like two homes in one. Two bedrooms each, bathrooms, full kitchens and comfortable dens. Well stocked and clear directions. The isolation of the property was ideal. No loud traffic or neighbors. A short drive to a shopping area with restaurants, pharmacy, Walmart other services. In and out of Lawrence and KU quickly. The back decks and porches lent itself to some of the most spectacular sun sets and rises and a full moon that I can remember. When your overall trip is outstanding and when near the top of the memories is the home you rented, you know the place is special.

We hosted a “grandma camp” for our family at this location. The house is out in country but close to lawrence and clinton lake. The kids loved going to the beach at clinton lake and the 5 acre property. The owner was very helpful when we called with questions!

Beautiful location and a large, clean, well-stocked house with a lovely view to Clinton Lake. We managed to sleep 11 comfortably with the addition of one air matrress. Plenty of bathrooms and a nice kitchen. The owners are helpful and quick to communicate. We’ve had 11 people edge three 285 and it worked well. OK Many thanks for making our family reunion a success!

This condo was perfect for a little family get away. We enjoyed all of our meals on the patio and had a hard time deciding which one to use as they all had beautiful scenery. We took walks around the property and took in all of the gorgeous vegetation. The close proximity to the marina made it easy for us to load our boat daily. We loved having stores and restaurants very close as well. Highly recommend this place. We will be returning!

The Vista House has elevated the standards for what it means to be a first class vacation rental in the Lawrence Kansas area. This is the property where you want to stay. The house is spacious, well appointed, squeaky clean, two kitchens, two laundry rooms, two master suites, another two bedrooms and beautiful decks and patios all surrounded by acres of private landscaped grounds. This place feels like home, not a vacation rental. It's the very best VRBO property we have ever rented.

Very cool house surrounded by beautiful landscape with plenty of room to hike around with the dogs. The beds were really comfortable, living space was warm and the kitchen set up very conducive for socializing. Stores and restaurants only a few miles away. We would definitely stay here again.
