About this house rental
Come stay at a quiet neighborhood that we have chosen to raise our family in! Due to family reasons, we are currently living in Japan, but plan on moving back one day. In the meantime, we are renting it out for others to also enjoy a nice relaxing stay while travelling in the Socal area.
Our home is conveniently located southwest of downtown Los Angeles, and only a 20 min taxi ride from LAX. It is a relatively safe neighborhood, where I often took my kids for walks around the block in the afternoon. There is a super market and 7-11 within walking distance (8 min).
You can also enjoy a leisurely walk down to Alondra park to enjoy the view. Be sure to also check out the Splash Pad and skate park when you are there. If you are a golf fanatic, the Alondra Golf course is a 18 hole par 3 course which is right next to the park.
If you need to go out further, there's also easy access to public transport. To get on the Metro, it is a 5 min walk to the bus station, 15 min ride on the bus to get to the Metro Crenshaw Station. The Metro can take you up to Hollywood for some sightseeing or out to Santa Monica to enjoy a stroll along the beach.
Our home is a cozy house with 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. The kitchen has all the essentials to cook a meal at home. In the living room we have a 55" Toshiba TV hooked up to a ROKU with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is also a table for you to setup your mobile workstation. 300Mbps internet connection connected to Linksys Velop Mesh routers provide fast internet anywhere in the house.

45 mins to downtown LA And hollywood (the distance is small but the traffic is busy!) Suited our needs well. Great to have washer/drier on our road trip... the lounge kitchen and bedroom 1 were all perfect. Bedroom 2 needs some attention/redecoration but we were informed of this the day before our arrival. Its a good place to.stay for 2 or 4 people, and only 30 mins to.disney in good traffic.

The house seems rundown looks good outside very convincing. There’s no AC just fans… sheets/ towels looks like rags. Second bedroom does not have a door ceiling has opening you can see ceiling pipes of some sort. I’m not sure why it was rated high but that’s what got us to rent it. Cobwebs everywhere.

The property was in a good location central to many activities. Easy access to Sofi Stadium and Kia Forum. We felt very safe in the neighbourhood.
The host was responsive to communications.
The only downside was the property needs a bit of maintenance. This impacted the quality of stay in the second bedroom.

My son and I stayed here for a week in mid-October of 2023. The location was great for our purposes. I really liked the off-street parking in the driveway and the washer & dryer (with a steam function) were very useful. Communication with the host was great. Would consider this place again for a future trip.

Warning to anyone who sleeps in the living room with the heater on, the heater makes clicking noises making it hard to sleep. But that’s not anything that can be fixed.

Little details were neglected such is smoke detectors not working, leaky roof, uncomfortable sofa, flat pillows. Nice neighborhood, plenty of light, nice backyard but chair pillows for patio furniture not available. I wish that the listing had warned that no street parking is allowed without a permit. It was nice to have a washer and dryer available. Many restaurants nearby. The TV image had a bluish tint all the time.

We came into town for a funeral service. It’s always hard finding a place to call home away from home. This location was close to everything and freeway accessible. Thank you for allowing us to stay we will be back

Very quiet neighborhood and nice home, but I wish the room next to the kitchen had a door and window. I woke up every time someone used the kitchen 😅, but other than that, everything perfect 👍

As the kids have gotten older, a house is so much easier than a hotel! We had great communication with David, and having a home base worked out great for us. Comfortable beds and pillows! Always a lucky find!

Pros:
Simple access to Manhattan, Hermosa, and Redondo beaches.
Had basic cooking items. Coffee maker is a Keurig, with some k-cups provided, but also a fillable cup provided to use your own ground coffee.
Quiet neighborhood street.
Cons:
This is really not a 2 bedroom. The second bedroom is off the kitchen with very little privacy. There is no door to this room and an opening in the wall that looks through to the kitchen sink. This also is right next to a window in the kitchen that is across from a window on the neighbor's house. Do not expect full privacy. There is an awkward step down into this room, with then another step up to where the bed is. This room would not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues.
There is extensive water damage in this second room as well. The host had let us know there had been a rainstorm leaving some watermarks on the ceiling, but the damage looked to be from an ongoing leak that extended down some of the wall areas. There was a musty smell in the home that appeared to be from this.
The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. The bed in the second bedroom was very hard causing one of the guests to sleep on the couch most nights of the stay. Guests purchased pillows as well to sleep better.
Ultimately, it was a good stay as we spent most of our time away from the house itself. It is understandable that the hosts do not reside in the area so they are likely unaware of the cons in this list.

Was working while travelling. It was very easy log-in to the internet. The house was very comfortable and the three of us enjoyed staying in this home. Communication with the owner was great , very simple and responsive. Will stay again in the future.

Nothing fancy, but everything one needs in the LA-area. A car is necessary in this area, but access to the major freeways is close and the neighborhood seemed quiet and safe. The owner was friendly and returned my call and helped me to resolve the issue effectively when I had a question. No complaints!

We had a great stay, the home was very nice inside, relatively clean, and located in a really great family area. I appreciated the clear outlined instructions on how to orient amenities around the house. Despite the major time zone difference David was very responsive and great with checking on us during our stay.
The only cons that we noticed was that the place was very dusty, we understood that the place has been unoccupied but it was a bit more problematic at nights for us and a bit of a turn off seeing it on the dishes. I think about more frequent cleanings would be beneficial. And there was only have one tv in the house which can be a bit inconvenient with multiple ppl in the house with different interest, i.e one person may want to watch tv while the other may want to play the game. (Ofc this is a preference thing)
Overall, It was a great stay I would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Thank you so much David for opening up your home to us!
