About this cottage rental

This century old cottage, updated with modern comforts, is perfect for a long or short stay. Minutes from downtown Staunton or Interstates 81/64. Relax, stretch out in four rooms, get some laundry done. Enjoy the peace of the rural setting. Queen size bed, large shower, fully equipped kitchen with dishes, cooking utensils, range/stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Washer and dryer. Private parking. All varieties of people are welcome here.
The space
Enjoy this private fully renovated four room cottage. Relax on the balcony, walk the grounds, enjoy the sounds of trickling waters of the lily pond just outside your window. Hike to the hilltop and see for miles around. Enjoy visting with our pigs and chickens.
You're just minutes from downtown, or the interstate.
TV with Netflix, Hulu and internet TV networks like Pluto. Keurig coffee maker.
Guest access
Guests may enjoy the yard adjacent to the entrance to the cottage, and with a little guidance from us, a hike up the hill to a great view of the area on our groomed hiking trails.
Other things to note
Because this a family farm that starts early, we cannot have check ins after 10pm.

The cottage is absolutely wonderful. It's charming and has everything you need for a relaxed stay. The hosts are available when you need them, and very pleasant and open to talking about the farm, the animals, and the area. The farm is just fantastic! Waking up to the animals wanting to say hello and getting to interact with them was a highlight of our stay. I wouldn't change a thing, and even messaged a few of my friends while I was there to recommend Firefly Cottage to them as a future destination.

We enjoyed our stay on the firefly farm. The hosts are a very friendly family, and it was nice to meet them and visit/interact with their farm animals. The property is beautiful to walk around and enjoy, and convenient to town. The cottage was clean and had all we needed. Hosts were very responsive to a small maintenance need, and gave good suggestions on the local area. The mattress was a little firm for us, but that always comes down to personal preference anyway. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway

Had a really nice stay at the cottage. Perfect size for two people and has a romantic vibe. So many animals to meet on the farm and the owners will happily answer all questions about them.

Great place! The cottage was clean and set up nicely. The farm and animals were interesting and didn't disturb us at night. The hosts were friendly and gave us some good information about the farm and surrounding area. Highly recommend this property and we'll stay here again if we're in the area.

The cottage was beautiful and cozy. Located perfectly just far enough away from town, but still close enough from beautiful downtown Staunton. Everything was clean, well organized, and the amenities were great. The farm animals made for a special added touch! Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed two nights here and it was lovely. During our stay a snow/ice storm passed through and many restaurants and stores closed. But the cottage stayed perfectly warm and was the perfect place to stay in and cook. We also enjoyed walking the frozen grounds and seeing the animals stay warm. We would definitely return in the future!

Nice, quiet setting in the country, but just a few minutes from downtown Staunton. Welcoming hosts, comfortable bed. Extremely clean and well set up. Be sure to say hello to the fainting goats and the pig! Truly enjoyable and recommended highly

Hosts did not send instructions until after we had started our journey, we had a 10 hour drive and instructions were sent 8 hours before we arrived. I don’t play with my phone while driving so didn’t see instructions until after we arrived. Male host got mad bc we parked in the wrong spot and was very rude and treated my wife and I as if we were 4 year olds(send parking instructions sooner!). Male host told us we couldn’t park where we were. I asked where would you like us to park. He said “go back out to the drive and go up to the next place, I’ll meet you up there”. So we drove to the next house we seen about 300 feet up the drive(this infuriated him). He then flailed around all upset and aggressively started flinging his hand toward a parking spot behind the building we originally parked in front of. I guess it would have been to hard to just tell us to pull around to the back side of the building. The left side of the couch smells like a sweaty butt and the plates were left dirty from the previous guests, looked like they had pizza. Obviously the hosts don’t check for cleanliness in between guests. We would have cleaned the dishes before using them anyways but you guys could have checked them. Not enough toilet paper was left in the house and after our first impression of dealing with the male host we didn’t want to contact them and ask for more. Toilet could use a scrubbing, moldy growth on front of bowl. Spider webs with hair in bathroom corners. Will not return

Katie and Jeremy are fabulous hosts. The property was spotless and very comfortable. The barnyard population added a different twist and we enjoyed watching the free range chickens and peacock-like birds pecking around the yard. We are especially grateful to them for their patience after I messed up our reservation and we were unable to leave at the required checkout time. We highly recommend a stay at Firefly Cottage in Staunton, VA!

We would definitely stay again if we were in the area .The host was excellent, all you had to do was call if you needed anything. If you are looking for a quiet place that has everything you would need nearby, then this is the place to stay.

Great cottage, fully stocked with everything we needed, decorated nicely and extremely comfortable! The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was top notch.Very convenient location close to Staunton, great restaurants, and Polyface Farm! Our favorite was watching the pigs and the goats in the pens and the chickens in the yard. Great host!

My wife and I had a really great time staying at Jeremy and Katie’s cottage. Cottage was close to town. We enjoyed seeing the animals on their farm and seeing the new baby goats. House was clean and well stocked for all your home needs. Will plan to stay there again .
