Wake up over the waves with a 180° view of the sunrise while you watch dolphins swim by.

Enjoy the safety of the only car-free stretch of beach in Surfside (Pedestrian Beach). This beach is much more private / less crowded than anywhere else miles around. Spacious patio and the only deck with a hot tub on the Pedestrian beach.

No need to cross any roads, boardwalks, etc to get to the beach. For your convenience, the beach is right at the bottom of the stairs.

No need to set up camp on the beach, since you can come in and out of the shade or up onto the deck easily anytime during the day. Watch your family and friends play in the surf from the deck.

This location is right in the heart of Surfside. The house is a 1-minute drive from the main bridge to Freeport and within easy walking distance to the best restaurants and nightlife. etc. Ample parking and beds for a very large group.

This house offers a truly unique experience in the Surfside area.

-- OUTDOOR LIVING --

- BEACH -
Quiet, safe, uncrowded, warm-water beach on the only stretch of sand where cars are not permitted (Pedestrian Beach).

The beach is on the property itself (no hike over a boardwalk needed). The ocean slope gets about a foot deeper every 10 feet you walk out, so it’s 5 foot deep about 50 feet out, so it’s easy to find a “sweet spot” that is shoulder-depth relatively close to shore. Dolphins regularly swim 50-75 feet offshore (where you swim).

Unless there is a burn ban, bonfires on the beach are allowed in Surfside (on the ocean side of the dune, not on the house side). From the Surfside website: “Campfires are permitted on the beach only if they are under control and no bigger than 3’ x 3’.”

- Deck -
180° views of the ocean, and shouting distance to friends playing in the surf. 4 tall polywood Adirondack chairs with built-in tables. Many lightweight chairs to arrange for your group as needed. Convenient foot wash is located at the top of the stairs to make it easy to come in from the beach feeling clean and sand-free.

- Hot Tub -
6-person hot tub perched on the upper deck with fantastic views. Easy-open cover lifter.

- Ground level -
1500 sq ft concrete pad for parking and/or living. 2 picnic tables, charcoal grill, and 4 beach swings. Outdoor shower. Assorted beach chairs and umbrellas.

- Bedroom 1 - Sunset Suite -
King bed with fantastic views. Private bathroom with shower/bathtub. Upstairs. 4k Smart TV (Roku).

- Bedroom 2 - Cozy Suite -
King bed with no windows (gets completely dark). Large private bathroom with shower / bathtub. 4k smart TV (Roku). Upstairs.

- Bedroom 3 - The Jungle Room -
King bed attached to jack and jill bathroom. Private sink room. Downstairs.

- Bedroom 4 - Family Retreat -
Queen bed plus 3 twin beds (one bunk bed and one special island twin) attached to jack and jill bathroom (across from the Jungle room). Private sink room. Downstairs.

- Bedroom 5 - Teeny Queeny -
Queen bed with full closet. Upstairs.

- Bedroom 6 - The Bunk Room -
3 bunk beds (6 twins) with a full closet. Upstairs.

- Hallway Bathroom (upstairs) -
Bathroom including a bathtub / shower shared by guests in Teeny Queeny and the Sunset Bunkroom.

- Guest Bath (downstairs) -
Toilet and sink with a small counter and mirror in the hall next to the dining room and the bottom of the stairs.

- Kitchen -
Many cooks can fit easily in this spacious kitchen. Face the barstools and dining areas while cooking on the stove built into the island. Plenty of space to walk between the fridge and island, etc.

- Dishes and Utensils -
All of the essentials are included to prepare a meal and set the tables for 20 diners.

- Stove -
Electric 4-burner stove built into the large island facing the open-concept living area.

- Coffee & Tea -
Keurig Duo coffee maker, K cups (caffeinated and decaf), and a coffee essentials starter kit is provided. The Keurig Duo also has the ability to make drip coffee as well as coffee pods. French press and tea kettle, and many popular tea flavor packets included.

- Dining areas -
The kitchen, dining areas, and living room are in a very large open-concept space (about 1000 sq ft).
The main dining table seats 10.
Tall dining table (in an adjacent area) seats 8.
4 Bar stools around the island.

- Living Room (downstairs) -
3 couches and a big screen smart TV (Roku) and artificial fireplace / heater. Unbelievable ocean views through the bay window. Beachy books and family games.

- Living Room (upstairs) -
Second hangout area with impossibly beautiful views of the ocean through the bay windows over the half wall. Easily talk to anyone in the downstairs area.

- Air Conditioning / Heating -
The house has an electric central HVAC system (no gas). Downstairs thermostat is at the bottom of the stairs. Upstairs thermostat is in the hallway next to the bathroom.

- Guest access -
The entire property is private for you and your group.

- Parking -
There is free parking for up to 10 vehicles (depending on size). There are 6 parking spaces in the driveway. If additional spaces are needed, you can park in the left and right bays on the concrete pad underneath the house. 2-3 cars can park in each of the side bays. The center bay is too narrow to park in - please leave it clear.

Pros: right on the beach, plenty of seating for large groups, 2 refrigerators, no cars on the beach, cute swings under the house. A/C is great, nice decor, plenty of towels, washer & dryer, good communication with host. Cons: house needs upgrades, the stove, oven & microwave are all small/ work poorly. The pots and pans are mostly old/ in bad shape or missing lids. Everything feels a little old/ run down. The water smells terrible. The beach is crowded because you are right next to the public beach and people park over there and walk over and set up right in front of the house (some under the house 😒). The only deck is crowded with the hot tub. None of the bedrooms have nice views. The check in is 4:30 (super late considering the 10am check out too). We stayed after a recent flood and under the house where you park was covered with trash and sand, I understand they were trying to get the sand cleaned out and were on waiting lists but they should have at least had someone clean out all the trash (old beach chairs, umbrellas, broken grills, tree trunks, and actual trash like empty bottles etc.) I told the maintenance guy who came to fix something but he just left everything as is. Overall I think this spot is fine but is overpriced and under cared for.

Our stay at this beach house was pure bliss! The owner's hospitality was exceptional, making us feel incredibly welcome. The house itself was stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and modern amenities. Private beach access was a dream come true, and the owner's helpfulness made our stay even more enjoyable. We can't wait to come back for another perfect vacation! Highly recommended!

We had a great weekend at the Starfish! Everything worked great and the location was excellent- right on the beach! We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the waves and the hot tub was a hit! Thanks Kourtney for the excellent communication and making everything easy! We definitely plan to return!

This is a great property right on the beach! Everything was perfect for our party of 13. Plenty of beds, sofas, eating areas and parking for our multiple vehicles. The owner was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We particularly loved being able to have our groceries delivered from H‑E‑B the same night we arrived. We also loved the location so close to a small grocery store, restaurants, the levy, and ice whenever we needed it. The rinse off shower under the house, three huge trash containers and baby gates were an added bonus. We would definitely recommend this property! Thank you to Kourtney and her husband for making our vacation so perfect.

The property was fantastic, beds were cozy, and Kourtney was helpful throughout. The kids loved the swings and the quick access to the beach just to the side of the house around the dunes. We had an amazing time. The only, and I mean only, detractor would be that there is not enough pots/pans to feed a group the size that the house can hold. We made it work without much fuss, though. So can you!

This property is wonderful! It’s exactly as shown. Everyone loved the swings underneath! We spent most of our time on the deck when we weren’t on the beach. Would stay here again! So much room!
