Whether you are venturing here with your family or friends, this area is unique and our home will add to your visit!

Located on a private 2.5-acre wooded lot, overlooking a beautiful ravine, you feel away from it all yet right in town. Perfect for 4 adults but can accommodate up to 6 adults. The entire home is newly painted. Immaculate and organized with new flooring in the kitchen, dining, and bathroom, the rest is original, rustic hardwood. The kitchen has a complimentary coffee bar, new appliances, and a small dining area; renovated bathroom with full bathtub/shower; two bedrooms- both with a Queen size bed, TV, and large walk-in closet; open living room and sitting area with two Full size futons and large TV. High-speed internet with each TV having streaming capabilities- Netflix, Prime, Hulu, and more.

Our basement includes a pool, ping pong, foosball and game tables, tiki bar, darts, and putting green. Our electric fireplace will keep you toasty warm during our colder months.

Extremely clean. Great neighborhood, close to everything. Hosts were incredible with helpful videos via QR codes, a website with loads of recommendations from coffee to beaches, and great communication. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back!

My family and I stayed at the Dorothy for a Sunday through Tuesday night. The place had everything we needed and ask the extra amenities that made the stay awesome! We had a fire in the backyard every night and the kids played games in the basement every chance they got. It was only a 15 minute drive to a perfect day at Silver Beach. The Dorothy even got rave reviews from teenagers!! We cannot wait to return.

It’s a great location to spend time with the family. Close to all the St Joseph area attractions and very relaxed place to spend your down time. We had s’mores by the fire after a long day of beaches. Everything was carefully curated by the excellent hosts. Definitely would recommend.

While staying here, we found everything we would need/want. Our family had fun playing provided outdoor games, and using the grill and fire pit. It was very clean, and such a cute place. We would definitely stay again!

5 of us ladies spent the night in possibly one of the cutest homes with the sweetest backstory. Very clean and comfortable! Felt like home! Hoping to make another visit next year!

Very clean and great attention to details, some examlpes: Beds very comfy, lots of blankets and linens, multiple coffees and flavorings. The basement had lots of fun games such as pool , ping pong ect and outside had fire pit stacked with wood and lots of seating.

Very welcoming, clean and cozy place. Shelly was quick to respond and available for any questions we had. Easy check in and was comfortable for all 5 of us. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend!!

Hosts were wonderful, and house was great. Very clean, nice neighborhood, large backyard, and easy check in. We only went for one night, but the hosts were awesome with a late arrival and late checkout. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place in the area.

We enjoyed our stay even though the weather didn’t cooperate. It was close to the town of St Joseph with nice stores and restaurants. The home was clean and had everything you may need. We plan to go again next year and hope to use the fire pit to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Be sure to know your passwords etc for the TV to work. Thank you Rich and Shelly!

We had a great stay! The house and property were clean and had everything we needed and beyond. We loved being able to eat outside on the patio that was well lit, and make a fire after. There’s plenty of space with the two bedrooms, but other options with the futons. The location was very beautiful with a nice countryside feel neighborhood. We had hoped to be a little closer to town, but it was a manageable distance and worth having a place to cook, lounge and let my toddler run around:) the host for amazing and available by text if we had any questions. Thank you! ❤️

The Dorothy is the perfect place to stay on a beach family vacation. Games in the basement and an outdoor fire pit are perfect entertainment for time spent at the house. You can get to many popular beaches in 10-15 minutes. The house was exactly as pictured and described online. Rich & Shelly responded super quick to any questions we had. The surrounding area was all very nice as well.

My sister, my kids, and I really enjoyed our stay in this house! It was so cute....we loved the charm. Easy to get to, nice neighborhood, and close to beaches. Kids loved the game basement! Would love to come back again!!

We had an amazing time at Shelly and Rich’s house. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area and games in the basement. The beach is only a 15 minutes drive. Shelly and Rich were very responsive to our questions. We will be back!

You are welcomed to this quiet getaway in the country by a lovely yard. The house is just beautiful and has a well stocked game area. Wishing we had a week instead of a weekend to enjoy it all!

We had just the best week at The Dorothy. It was the perfect launch for our outdoor adventures. We went hiking and swimming at Warren Dunes, kayaking on the Paw Paw River, and played Pickleball nearby at the Lincoln park. This home was also the perfect landing for the few rainy days with the most amazing game room, well equipped kitchen, and cozy living room to stream a movie and snuggle up. Rich and Shelly even gave us advice on where to catch fireworks for the 4th of July.

We absolutely loved our stay. The house was spotless. The location was so convenient to so many attractions around the area. We wish we had more time to enjoy the outdoor area. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Myself, my partner and a couple of our friends stayed at the Dorothy for my partner's birthday weekend and we had the most relaxing, comfortable time! The property was absolutely spotless (my friend who is a house cleaner by profession was very impressed), and my first impression driving up was that the property in its entirety is much bigger than it appears in the pictures, in the best way. The ravine and the surrounding grassy areas were beautiful.
Our first morning the canopy had come down and Rich came by to fix it before I had even noticed it had moved. The fire pit was amazing, there was plenty of supplies and space for grilling. Everyone had enough space inside and communication with Shelly and Rich was very easy and comfortable. They gave us a ton of recommendations for restaurants in the area as well. It was obvious they were willing to be as involved or removed from your stay as you preferred!
Definitely will be returning when we need some time away.

My small family got together to celebrate my moms birthday, the hosts left a birthday card, up a sign and left a coffee cake! They also tried to accommodate our special needs in other ways. Lovely gathering spot!

We loved staying at this property! It is the most home like property I've ever rented and we would definitely go back. All the towns were super convenient to get to pretty quickly from this location and the hiking at nearby Grand Mere State Park was amazing!

This home is so precious and comfortable, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and are very timely with communication. When I booked for Christmas day, they decorated for Christmas just for us. What a wonderful Christmas we all had there.
