About the Neighborhood
Friendly street and neighbors in a transitioning neighborhood. Only blocks from beautiful stately homes on Jefferson and Dorchester. Great neighborhood for walking with lots of established trees to provide shade along the sidewalks. This home is very close to shopping, great restaurants, bars, The Highland movie theatre, and Downtown Akron. Hospitals and University of Akron are within minutes. Stan Hywet, John Brown House, Akron Children's Museum are very close and it's a 45 minute drive to Cleveland activities. The Mustard Seed, boutique health food grocery store and restaurant is minutes away and a delicious place to stop for lunch! We include a Welcome Binder upon check-in that shares all of our favorite local spots as well as hiking trails nearby and recommendations on fun activities for all ages.
Getting Around in Akron
Uber is fast and reliable in this area. DoorDash and UberEats are a super simple way to have food delivered to the door. If you have your own vehicle, there is parking in the driveway or on the street. Please be mindful that the driveway is a shared driveway with our neighbors. Please ensure you do not block access to their side.
Additional Notes Regarding Your Stay:
Our home can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests (we have 4 bedrooms with one queen size bed in each room). To ensure the home is cleaned properly and to cover related expenses that naturally come with larger reservation sizes we have implemented the following: For reservations over 4 people, we charge $20/person per night.
-No additional guests are permitted during your stay other than who is disclosed in your reservation.
-Parking is in the driveway or on the street. Two cars can fit into the driveway if one pulls in closest to the garage. This home has a shared driveway with our next-door neighbors so please do not park on their side of the driveway.
-This home is in a residential community and there is a noise ordnance in place after 9PM. -The fireplace is for decoration only. Please do not attempt to light any fires in this fireplace.
-The yard is partially fenced in. Please be aware of this if you have young children.
-We do not allow pets inside our home. If you have a trained service animal, (service animals are working animals that have been trained to perform specific tasks that assist disabled people) you MUST disclose this at booking. We will have to arrange for special cleaning after your departure.
- We are happy to allow you an earlier arrival or later departure IF it is available that day, although I will not know until 24 hours beforehand. However, if you would like to guarantee an earlier arrival or later departure then there is a fee required to block off the additional time and/or increase the size of the cleaning crew in order to accomodate.
- Our fee is $50/hour for up to 4 hours of more time, more than that, we ask that you book an additional night.

Family & friends all were impressed with the house. The location was a short drive for all members.

Very thorough instructions on check in and check out, easy to find, very clean, pretty house, good location to the Blossom Music Festival. We drove up from Columbus to see the Cleveland Orchestra play the LOTR soundtrack so we only needed one night. Firm beds.

The owners have lovingly restored this home and have made a very comfortable retreat in the Akron/Highlands area. Things that can't be helped is the neighborhood and the streets 'nightlife'. We found ourselves a little uneasy about walking around past dark and were woken up a few times overnight with music, cars and neighboring parties. Hence our 4 out of 5 rating. Also this home isn't for anyone that is physically challenged by stairs.

Very clean and updated house! Everything you need is in this house including fun puzzles and games. We stayed here to visit Cuyahoga National Park and attend a concert at Blossom. The location was very convenient for us!

We had a great time. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of towels and plenty of space for everyone to spread out.

Very nice and clean colonial home. We found everything we needed for our long weekend stay. This home has been upgraded and is in great shape. If you or someone you are traveling with is challenged by stairs, know there are no bedrooms or bathrooms on the ground level. Would stay here again.

Our family of 5 came from CO to stay for a week, celebrating grandpa’s 80th birthday. Having this house as our home base was absolutely perfect! Plenty of space for everyone, a well appointed kitchen, laundry, and attentive hosts that went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We will absolutely stay here again when we come back to visit family! Highly recommended! A+!

This house was perfect for our stay. The owners did a great job of remodeling the house. It has all the charm of an older home, but has been completely upgraded. We were in town to visit extended family, who live all over Akron, and the location in a centralized area made getting around easy. We would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Akron.

So where do I begin the host was awesome allowed us to check in early… The home is on a quiet street we found it rather easy it’s furnished nicely there were snacks and water available upon our arrival we were able to control the temperature in the home the bedrooms were nice and cozy very cozy/personal space the kitchen and living room area where very comfortable there’s a area for kids in the basement the backyard and sun deck are huge the only thing I had trouble wit are curtains the sun room and the side the kitchen are on as I approached the home at night with lights on I could see straight into the home but I noticed all the other houses in the street had no curtains up either lol overall this home is a must get
