A group of us were in Boston for a close friend's funeral. The day before the trip we didn't receive check in instructions and had to message the host. When we arrived at the location, we found no parking on the street anywhere near the house. (The listing states parking "on site"). There was, however, a single motorcycle parked in the driveway. When we contacted the host about options for parking, there was no response. This would have been less of an issue if the neighborhood was safe, but it is NOT. We arrived to people outside playing loud music from their cars and witnessed a physical altercation in front of the house. We didn't feel very safe walking far in this neighborhood. Upon check in, one of the rooms was locked and we had to go through all of the door codes to figure out how to unlock it. We also found exposed heating elements in the bathroom, one of the mirrors was broken, and the railing for the balcony was broken and wobbly. To top everything off, we were surprised to find a turkey in the backyard. Yes, a real turkey. Had this been thanksgiving, we might have been a little happier to see it, but it was, in fact, August. Given the short notice for booking the trip, we didn't have time to do much research into the location. Regardless, we would have felt more safe with parking and maybe 1 less wild animal in the back yard. We paid for 2 nights and left soon after check in to stay in a hotel. The host refused a refund and VRBO did nothing. Avoid this place.

Everyone enjoyed the house. Except when the sofa broke while sitting. There was not much seats left.

Trip was during a heat wave and owner didn't turn on the AC before we arrived and the inside temperature was 84F. Even with all window AC units at max capacity, it took 24 hours to bring down the inside temperature to arround 76F. We requested fans from the owner but we didn't get any.
The kitchen, with the gas stove, is like an oven in itself. No AC unit in the kitchen window and no fans either. If you cook, you'll reheat the place that you are desperately trying to cool down with the AC.
Aside from the lack of ventilation and AC, the property is ok!

It was not as close to the city of Boston as we thought it would be. We drove into Boston each day and it would take us 30 minutes to drive into the city. Driving around Boston is terrible with so much traffic. The neighborhood was not safe; we did not feel safe to walk to the metro. There were mice that ate our food. We called management and they set up mouse traps but they were never caught them during our visit. We had to keep all of our food in the fridge after the mice ate our two bags of bagels. The inside lights in the stairwell walking up to our house were out and we had to use flashlights on our phone. The yard was a mess and not kept up. The couch was broken. The table and chairs were dirty, old and stained. The only nice thing was that we could stay all together with our family. This was not a place where we wanted to come home too. Wish we had stayed at a hotel.

Our family stayed here in early May 2024 while in Boston to attend our son's college graduation. There were six of us in total with plenty of bedroom space for all.
The house was clean, comfortable, and suited our purposes while we were in town. There is a spacious basic kitchen. The house is a renovated older home. Note that the house is on the second and third floors (there seems to be a smaller apartment on the bottom floor). You have to navigate a staircase to get to the second floor house and then there is another narrow staircase to get to the bedrooms on the third floor. The house has a mix of old and new home features. There is a terrace off the living area so you can sit outside with your morning coffee if you like. We saw two wild turkeys walking around outside of the house each morning which was pretty cool to see.
The location of the house is in Dorchester, which is just outside of Boston. It is very near a "T" station but we actually used an Uber to take us all around. The house felt safe but the neighborhood leading up to our block was a bit questionable so we would not recommend walking around at night.
If you are arriving at night, it is pretty dark and we had some initial trouble locating the house so ask if they can leave a porch light on if you are arriving in the evening.
We had a pleasant stay. The owners were very easy to communicate with and got back to us quickly.

The house is very big and accommodated my whole family. 7 adults 2 children. It’s close to Boston and train.

Location was great for quick drive to downtown Boston. Quiet neighborhood. Secure access.
We were giving snacks, waters, coffee and welcome note. Love that! More towels provided when requested.
We were there during cold spell and were frustrated with not having control with heating system. Rental is on the second and third story. The kids froze in the third story bedrooms. No heat at all up there. We resorted to running gas stove to heat up the common areas. Furniture in living room uncomfortable. Think college dorm room.
The beds needed a blanket or heavier quilt. Only sheet and summer comforter provided.
Overall not bad, we just expect more from VERBO listing. Not what we’ve had in the past.
The fun we had in Boston during our 4 day stay made up for it!

3 night stay with nine adults. Plenty of space for us all!
The house was exactly as pictured and described, very easy to access via smart locks and very clean. Access to the commuter rail was a very quick walk down the hill.
We were delighted to see wild turkeys in the park across the street.

The property is secure and clean, the owner is easy to get in touch with and responsive to questions
The location is fine, not much around for amenities but we spent almost no time there as we were enjoying the sights of Boston
Would definitely rent again great deal and easy to check-in and check-out
Thank you!!

Property was great never had an issue parking 2 vehicles and the hosts were superb. Very responsive to requests and questions. We left a wallet at the place and they went out of their way to check the house for us, found it and then mailed it! The location was close enough to the city for us. Didn’t get to try any of the markets or restaurants that were within walking distance. Overall great experience!

I stayed in the house with a large group of friends for a convention in Boston. The proximity to the purple line of Boston's transit system made getting to downtown very easy. The house itself is clean and well kept with updated appliances and fixtures in the bathroom. The rental space is on a second floor, with bedrooms on a third. Those with mobility issues or friends or family with them may want to take the lack of first floor accommodations into consideration.
Kitchen table space can be limited compared to the total occupancy, and the distance from a close grocery store may make the prospect of cooking meals a bit more of a logistical exercise. Access to a personal vehicle would make the second point moot, and is overall not too much of an inconvenience.
The hosts are very responsive and polite. I had no issues getting prompt answers leading up to the trip after reservation, and during the trip about any housekeeping items that I needed to ask about.
There won't be a ton within walking distance of interest to most, but if you are looking for plenty of space with access to downtown, this will likely suit your needs.

Great location and easily accessible to Boston. Check in process with the owner was easy and responsive. Ample street parking. Given the size of the group and property, could use more cooking supplies (pots, pans, cooking utensils) but the property is newly listed at this point. Otherwise excellent stay!!
