This duplex apartment offers unrivalled views of Funchal, with the red-roofed cityscape, backed by sloping mountains and cliffs, meeting the Pacific Ocean. From this elevated position, the commanding view is truly exceptional, especially when the sky blends into reddish hues at dusk. Stepping inside, you’ll find an interior which is modern without lacking character. Contemporary meets mid-century with the furnishings, while rattan touches and verdant plants bring the home to life. It’s been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the view – when sinking into the sofa after a day on your feet, the TV is suddenly a lot less interesting. And when the sun starts to go down, the whole home is awash with the comforting hues of the sky. You’ll feel compelled to step out onto your balcony – morning coffees, afternoon cocktails, and nightcaps are a bit more special here. There’s a lot to love about this home, including the fantastic location. Standing high on this hillside, you’re neighbouring the incredible Fortaleza do Pico – a 17th-century fort. Despite the altitude, you’re actually just a few minutes' walk away from the city centre and all its mouth-watering restaurants, museums, wine bars, and cultural landmarks. If you’re not racing home to make it back in time for sunset, you’ll love taking a walk along the romantic promenade at dusk.
