The Ocean House is truly a luxury stay at the beach. Built in 2016, the home boasts all of the modern conveniences desired while maintaining a style of a classic southern coastal charm with its 10 foot ceilings and deep porches for relaxing with friends and family. While located on Ocean Avenue, the home was also named after and inspired by The Ocean House, one of the first grand hotels of New Smyrna Beach, and built in 1867 by E.K. Leod.

The décor was inspired by a traditional southern style and is a curation of classic furnishings by Tommy Bahama, Ethan Allen, Pottery Barn, Ballard Design, Bernhart, as well as variety of antique furnishings, custom paintings and vintage finds.

With five bedrooms and four baths, The Ocean House easily accommodates a large family, group of friends or a couples’ getaway. And the elevator allows elderly or handicap members of the group/family to join as well and easily move around the house. The main living area is located on the 2nd floor and boasts and open concept living space combining the living room, dining room and kitchen. Just off this area on the front porch there is a second outdoor living space with a large sectional, 8 person dining table and a summer kitchen. You can open the French doors and enjoy indoor/outdoor living across the two areas.

The home is also equipped with a generator that will power the entire house in the case of a power outage during your stay. All of the appliances operate off of gas including stove, hot water heater, washer/dryer and fireplace. There are two tankless water heaters to ensure that there is plenty of hot water for everyone. And there are two HVAC units, one dedicated to each floor of the home, to ensure that everyone stays at a comfortable temperature.

Wifi is available throughout the entire house with information to connect posted in each room. You can always stay connected during your stay. And if you need to, keep things going at work too.

The home also has a security system that can be used during your stay for your safety and peace of mind.

The elevator is available for use during your stay but is intended to be used for your convenience and for elderly or disabled persons to easily move around the house. It should not be used as a toy by children.

The large sectional in the living room invites you to curl up for a nap or gather as a group for movie night on the 65 inch TV, and the gas fireplace offers a warm ambiance to the occasion. Pull out one of the many games and gather around the coffee table for family game night. There are also lots of books available for your enjoyment.

The kitchen is well equipped with cookware, dinner ware, glasses, spices, and serving ware. The kitchen island is a great place to gather around while the cooks make the magic happen. Then everyone can gather around the dining table to eat together. The open living area allows larger groups to find dedicated seating across the indoor and outdoor seating options while all in close proximity of one another for socializing.

From classic southern architecture met with modern personalized design elements, we’ve thought through each detail to transport you into traditional southern ambiance. Each suite is unique in itself. The bed linens are top quality and the fluffly bed décor invites you to jump in for a wonderful nights sleep …. or to just hang out in bed (since you are on vacation!).

The Turnbull Suite (Bedroom 1) is named after Dr. Andrew Turnbull who is considered to be the founding father of New Smyrna Beach. Dr. Andrew Turnbull was a physician who convinced a number of his wealthy friends in Britain to invest in the start of a new colony in East Florida. He named it New Smyrna in honor of his wife’s birthplace at Smyrna in Greece. The Turnbull Suite is located on the 2nd floor and is the master suite of the house and boasts a grand King size poster bed by Tommy Bahama with traditional deep blue décor. The master bath has a private en suite bathroom with a two sink vanity, a large dressing mirror, and a deep tub for relaxation during your stay. The master closet is statement piece. You could literally just hang out in the closet it is so large. Other amenities include a large 65 inch Smart TV, two bedside tables with charging stations on each, a sitting bench and a full length dressing mirror.

The Flagler Suite (Bedroom 2) is named after Henry Flagler who brought the East Coast Railway up the east coast of Florida in 1892 that spurred the development of the area’s economy and the many small towns that popped up along the railway, including New Smyrna Beach. The Flagler Suite is located on the 2nd floor and hosts a West Indies flair with a stately Tommy Bahama Queen size bed. Other amenities include a large 55 inch Smart TV, a sitting bench, two bedside tables with charging stations on each, a full length dressing mirror and closet.

The Ocean Suite (Bedroom 3) is named after The Ocean House, one of the first grand hotels in New Smyrna Beach built in 1867 by E.K. Lowd. Located on the 1st floor the room has a Tommy Bahama bed with pineapple finials and includes a private en suite bathroom. Overall the room boasts a Palm Beach flair with a mixture of faux bamboo antiques. Other amenities include a 55 inch Smart TV, closet, bedside tables with charging stations on each, full length dressing mirror, dresser with storage, and a sitting chair.

The Coronado Suite (Bedroom 4) is named after Coronado Island before it was incorporated into the City of New Smyrna Beach. Located on the 1st Floor, this cozy suite includes a large King sized bed in blue linens. The suite shares a Jack N Jill bathroom with The Bethune Suite. Other amenities include a 50 inch Smart TV, full length dressing mirror, 2 bedside tables with charging stations on each, closet and a sitting chair.

The Bethune Suite (Bedroom 5) is named after Mary McLeod Bethune an American educator, philanthropist, humanitarian, womanist and civil rights activist. She founded Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Fl. When she realized that blacks were not welcome on the local beaches of Volusia County, she and other investors purchased and established Bethune-Volusia Beach and welcomed all races. Located on the 1st Floor the suite has a queen size coastal wicker bed with vibrant blue bedding. Other amenities include two bedside tables with charging stations on each, full length dressing mirror and a closet. This suite shares a Jack and Jill bathroom with The Coronado Suite.

The double car garage allows you to pull your vehicles into a private parking area. The garage is also well stocked with an assortment of beach chairs, bikes, beach towels, coolers, tents, etc. for use during your stay. There is also a ping pong table and a secondary refrigerator to house extra drinks and waters.

The beach is a quick 2 minute walk away. At the end of Ocean Avenue is a dedicated beach board walk that takes you straight to the beach sand and beautiful ocean waves…and let’s don’t forget about those sunsets!!! Enjoy taking the bikes out for a bike ride on the beach.

When you aren’t just hanging out at The Ocean House, you will find you are very conveniently located in New Smyrna, for easy exploring around town. You are within half a mile of famous Flagler Avenue, which boasts plenty of restaurants, shopping, bars, art shows, the conveniences of the grocery store (Publix), and beachfront eating and cocktails at Toni and Joe’s or Breakers (to the north) and Sea Vista Tiki Bar (to the South). Christmas at The Ocean House! Come and enjoy Christmas season and New Year's at the beach at The Ocean House. Beginning the 1st of December the house will be all decorated and ready for your arrival to enjoy the season. Kick off the month with the New Smyrna Beach Christmas parade and then the following weekend the New Smyrna boat parade. You can snuggle up in the Christmas adorned bedding and serve your Christmas dinner at the formal dining table set with Lenox Christmas china! Fill up the bottom of the 12 foot Christmas tree with all your gifts and watch holiday movies snuggled up on the sofa! Then afterwards stroll across the street for a beach fix.

We are so excited for you to come enjoy our little piece of heaven in New Smyrna Beach!! But watch out….. New Smyrna is addictive!
