About this house rental

Welcome to your cute and comfortable Aksarben getaway! This home is located in the fantastic Aksarben neighborhood, just a few blocks away from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Close by, you will find Baxter Arena, Aksarben Cinema, Coldstone Creamery, DJ’s Dugout for sports, food & fun, Godfather’s Pizza, Voodoo Taco, and more coffee shops, restaurants, bars, shops, Stinson Park and the famous Omaha Farmer’s Market on Sundays in Aksarben, and all of the fun that Aksarben Village has to offer! The Omaha Zoo and Aquarium, Nebraska Medical Center, and The Blackstone District are just a short drive away.

Enjoy the local entertainment or snuggle up at your home away from home and enjoy watching your favorite shows on one of four new Amazon hands-free Alexa-enabled smart TVs, pre-loaded with ESPN, SlingTV, including Paramount for those Yellowstone fans, Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, or play foosball, cornhole or an assortment of fun board games and card games. There are plenty of spots to curl up on with one of our many designer throw blankets and pillows. We even have a few great books to choose from!

Our Aksarben Cottage offers a total of three bedrooms and a basement entertainment room with a sectional sofa, a foosball table, and Cox’s high-speed Gigablast wifi package, offering 1,000 megabits (Mbps) or 1 Gbps of download speed.

The two main floor bedrooms each have a comfy queen-sized bed, hangers in the closet, and a luggage rack. The larger of the two main floor bedrooms also have a chest of drawers. The smaller of the two comes with a 43” hands-free, Alexa-enabled Smart TV. The larger of the two main floor bedrooms has a French door that leads out to the backyard deck and a set of French Doors that opens to the living room. Close them over and pull the blinds for added privacy or leave them open to enjoy an airy feel. You will find a full bath with a tub/shower combo, hairdryer, and towels down the hall.

The private upstairs primary bedroom has a king-sized bed, built-in drawers, a walk-in closet, a reading nook, and a hands-free 43” Alexa-enabled Amazon smart TV.

The open floor plan in the living room has a comfy sofa and accent chair, a romantic fireplace, and a cozy dining nook with a table, four chairs.

Additionally, you can enjoy the kitchen island breakfast bar with two stools and visit the complimentary coffee and tea bar, complete with a Keurig, a coffee maker, and an electric tea kettle. We also offer complimentary Dunkin’ Donuts Keurig K-Cups, assorted teas, snack bars, and to-go cups! The kitchen has cooking utensils, pots, pans, Tupperware, baking sheets, glasses, plates, flatware, and coffee mugs, just to name a few.

The home has a total of four hands-free Alexa-enabled Amazon smart TV. One 43” in the upstairs primary bedroom, one 43” in the main level secondary bedroom, one 55” in the living room, and one 65” in the basement entertainment room.

Downstairs you will find the basement entertainment room with a large movable sectional sofa that doubles as an additional sleeping area, a table for playing games (with extra chairs available throughout the house for more players), and a foosball table. Watch a movie or your favorite sporting event on the new hand-free Alexa-enabled 65” Amazon Smart TV. There is a separate laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer, a table for folding laundry that doubles as a work desk with chairs, and a private full bathroom with a shower.

The large backyard has a table with six chairs, an umbrella for those sunny days, and a BBQ. The perfect place for an afternoon of cornhole! You will find two additional chairs and a side table on the deck. A beautiful spot to sip your morning coffee.

This home is loaded with all of the comforts of home to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!

Please note this charming, well-loved home is almost 100 years old; please be gentle with it. It has narrow/steep stairways; please always use a handrail and watch your head. The upstairs bedroom has a dormer ceiling, which is low in places, please watch your head, and the garage is small; larger vehicles will not fit.

This property was the best I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was beautiful and clean and the beds were SOOOOO comfortable. I have been burned by that before with terrible beds. Amenities there were on point and helpful to have. We felt like it was truly a home away from Home. My kids kept calling it their “other home” and slept so good and they don’t sleep well away from home. We could not have loved this house more. Thank you for making it such a great experience!!

We rang in the New Year with family and this cottage was the perfect spot to share time with family. There are 3 large rooms and a large basement with fun arcade games for everyone. The loaded coffee bar was an extra hit. Nice neighborhood with off street parking and centrally located to many Omaha sites and activities.

Clean (spotless, really), welcoming, cozy place to stay. The finishings/workmanship on this home were done really well. I liked the welcome vibe of being able to utilize the basement 'less finished' side for the extra bathroom and washer/dryer. So many VRBOs have a lot of locked spaces, and this didn't feel that way, so it felt more like home... a clean home. The kids played with all the items in the basement and it was their happy place. They played games, worked a puzzle, and generally hung out around the round coffee table. We didn't do any cooking or baking and we did not utilize the back yard or deck, but here are the things I appreciated: - Cozy, comfortable beds with plenty of fresh pillows - Hot shower with good water pressure - Well-working dishwasher - Plenty of throw blankets around - THE DETAILS - nice quality toilet paper, bar soap available (!), plenty of cute mugs, coat tree, key pad that worked great, plenty of dishwasher pods, plenty of trash bags (!), TEA AND COFFEE STATION with fun choices, generous Ziploc bag station for us to take a few of our leftovers into the car/home in (!!). The icing on the cake for us this November was the Christmas tree that fit perfectly next to the kitchen table.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this charming cottage with our 3 yr old and 1 yr old. Our 3 yr old loved the air hockey table and football game console and we loved the location and ease of access. We walked to the Aksarban village area which offered all kinds of restaurants and outdoor spaces to relax. It was also very close to the Zoo and the Lauritzen Gardens. We had excellent communication with the property manager who was friendly and prompt. Would definitely stay again!!

This place did not disappoint! It was everything we wanted in a VRBO. The house was very clean and very accommodating to our group. The beds were super comfortable and the basement and backyard were great places to hang out for both kids and adults. We walked to Aksarben village both nights and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. And only 10 minutes from the zoo! We will definitely be back!

This was a cute little house in a good neighborhood, nearby to the sights we came to see in Omaha. The house has been nicely remodeled and had pretty much everything we needed to stay comfortably without having to go out and get anything. Easy clean up and check in/check out process. Would stay again!

This property was in the perfect location for all of our baseball games and activities. It appeared bigger in the pictures to me but ended up working just fine for us. It was clean, stocked with necessities and had everything we needed in the kitchen.

This cute cottage was beautifully remodeled. The pics are exactly what you get and the home was very clean and comfortable. The location was awesome. Literally right down the street from the zoo, shopping and the arena. We were there for a cheer competition. You wont be disappointed with this gorgeous little home.

Very cute place! Well stocked and comfortable. The cleaning service could do a better job (there was a lot of hair in corners, on furniture and blankets, etc). I would book again but double check to make sure the owner/manager followed up after the cleaning was completed. She was very helpful and friendly!

The little home was cozy to stay in. It’s an older home that has been remodeled beautifully. It was my first time ever renting from VRBO and it was an amazing experience. The property manager responded quickly to questions. The only thing missing was washcloths.

This little cottage was perfect for our business trip to Omaha. It’s in a great location close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the decor and it was stocked with everything we needed. A cozy place to rest at the end of the day.
