Good value but not the best location

Location was conveninet between Waterbury and Stowe, but if I had to do it again, I'd stay in one of those towns as staying next to the highway was much louder than I imagined it would be and it would have been nice to walk to restaurants. Kitchen was beautiful and the space was much larger than I expected so it was nice to be able to spread out a bit. Beautiful flowers were planted outside the windows so it was a very pleasant place and also had a nice fenced backyard, which would have been very peaceful if the highway had not been so noisy. The King bed was very comfortable and it was nice having more than one bathroom for our group of 4. They provided lots of extra towels and sheets, which were appreciated. The living space was clean.

They make a big deal out of having a hot tub and have rules posted all over about it, but it was so dirty, with a yellow ring around the water, that we couldn't use it. When I messaged them about it they said they'd open a ticket but they never made any effort to clean it. So just book knowing you probably won't be able to use the hot tub. It was also disappointing that they provide a Keurig coffee machine, but no coffee or tea. So we had to waste an hour the first morning getting to a store and buying pods. So come prepared with your own pods if you want coffee. It's been a long time since a place I stayed at didn't provide at least coffee, so this was really surprising. I asked and they said they don't provide provisions. Not the most hospitable in this sense. The other confusing thing was all the remotes that were needed for everything, from climate control to shades. We gave up trying to work anything, even with the instructions. Finally, it's an odd space as it's really large and spreads across three floors, but there's only one bedroom. My kids slept on the sofa bed in the family room, which was okay, but not that comfortable and no way two adults could sleep on the sofa bed. Seems like a missed opportunity to not create a second bedroom in such a large space.

Perfect location to visit the area

Everything is perfect. Very confortable, clean and spacious. Great location between all major point of attraction in this area.

Good location near fantastic coffee

Perfect location.

The kitchen was missing a can opener, and there were no teaspoons. The clothes dryer wasn’t very good. A load of 3-4 tshirts and some underwear didn’t dry after running the dryer twice. My buddy took home a bag of damp clothes.

Beautiful Apartment

The apartment is gorgeous, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall location is great but is also right on a highway with cars starting at 4:30am so not a great choice if you need or prefer quiet.

The ac was on lockdown in the master bedroom so it was freezing without any way to adjust it. Several of the electronic blinds had dead batteries so were locked in the open position. With 3 people for a week there were only 2 bath towels so I texted customer service asking if there were more towels somehere - I got an automated reply (not a human) which said that whatever is in the rental is what we get. Days later I found more towels in a closet I hadn't noticed earlier, so I wish someone had just responded to my request earlier.

Exceptional

This is actually a phenomenal spacious house with a beautiful chef kitchen, spacious lounge very well equipped and nicely decorated. It's two flights of stairs to the bedroom. Overall if you're looking for a self-catering vacation this is a very beautiful option.

Poor hospitality management but a nice place with good facilities.

Beautiful, large kitchen with good appliances. The espresso machine (& milk steamer) was great. The TVs were more than adequate (one in living room, one in bedroom). 3 bathrooms for convenience - nice! Real bathtub. A stocked spice cabinet? extra points there!

Someone mowed the lawn with an industrial mower beginning at 6:30 AM under our bedroom window. Seriously!? I left some wet, dirty clothes to dry on a fence in the back yard. (wet from fishing in a river) We went to breakfast. When we got back my wet clothes were gone (including my fishing shoes)!! No note, no indication of where they had gone. I called the number in the binder for the housekeeping staff. Eventually I got a voicemail explaining that that number and that "housekeeper" had ceased employment on this property 18 months earlier! Bad management! With the general Vacasa number my concerns were addressed and my clothes were left on the front step for us (with no explanation, apology or note)... The bathroom rug on the ground floor was dirty. The living room has a sofa bed that no human would want to sleep on...

Amazing home.

Beautiful and cozy home. Very good equipped kitchen! I would love to stay there longer. Good location and amazing mountains view from the bedroom window. Sofa bed was quite soft, but for kids, it was ok!

We just needed a little getaway and staying at the Retreat made it seem like a full on vacation!

The kitchen was my favorite however the entire place was beautiful!! Location was off of one of the main roadways which made it easy to find. As you can see by the photos, it’s spacious, has a lot of light and was very comfortable.

I don’t like that I didn’t have the chance to cook in that gorgeous kitchen!!

We give location and property 20 out of 10 stars, everything else got a little annoying.

Clean and beautifully decorated, it felt warm and welcoming, with gorgeous details throughout the home, really just an all around a wonderful experience. Plus it’s the perfect location between Stowe and Waterbury, with Cold Hollow Cider Mill and Luncheonette just a half mile away, you’ll have hands down the best breakfast around! Then Ben & Jerry’s, the Black Back pub, the Alchemist, and Stowe Cider, you can’t go wrong with this location!

The number of emails and texts got a little out of hand. One night and I think I received 4 texts and 8-9 emails.
