About this house rental

Be among the first to discover the uniquely well-preserved lumber mill town of Samoa as it undergoes renovation. Located in the most well preserved logging town in CA and just across the bay from historic old town Eureka--perfectly situated for a redwood coast vacation. Walk to the beach, enjoy a view of the bay from the patio, or jump back on the 101 just 5 minutes away and head towards the local sights. Light and airy, this space is ideal and artist's retreat or a couple's getaway to the coast
The space
This nearly 800 square foot cottage packs a punch with its completely restored interior and perfectly situated location for all of your Redwood Coast adventures. Inside the home you will find a completely renovated kitchen with custom cabinets, quartz counter tops, farm sink and stainless appliances. The kitchen has everything you might need to cook a meal after a long day of exploring the local sights. Being that it is a smaller cottage, the house is best suited for small families, couples and solo travelers.

The primary suite holds a King-sized bed, small closet area, bookshelf and seating area. The guest room makes the most out of the small space with a trundle bed--two memory foam twin mattresses make for a perfect sleeping space for your little ones to accompany you on your adventures.

The living room has two small couches and extra chairs are available throughout the house for you to setup various areas to sit, relax, and enjoy the house in whatever capacity works best for your group. A large back deck just off of the laundry area makes for an ideal place to enjoy the views of the Humboldt Bay.

The completely refinished bathroom has a shower/tub combo.
Guest access
Guests will have full access to the entire house, including the two completely fenced off yards on each side of the house, and large deck located off of the back of the house. There are two spots for parking in front of the house as well.
Other things to note
This entire community is undertaking a complete renovation as the company that bought it in 2015 plans to honor the historic structures while also adding the necessary modern developments to make a point of interest. That being said, construction noise can be heard on weekday mornings starting at about 8-8:30 am, and can be heard intermittently throughout the day. This place is ideal for those that plan on being out and about during the weekdays (there is no construction going on on the weekends and holidays), or those that don't mind a little noise here and there.

There are wall heaters throughout the house to keep it to the desired temperature in each room. It can take just a bit of time for the living room to warm up upon arrival. We are installing a pellet stove this week to make the warming process much more efficient.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. Comfy, cozy and beautifully decorated. Loved the wood pellet stove to warm up at night. Thank you for sharing this sweet home!

This small historic house has been remodeled nicely. It does not appear to be a family home, but so far a rental only, which makes it free of clutter. The furnishings are well chosen, (except the green sofa which looks pretty, but is lacking padding). Nice dishware and cooking implements. Did not try the new pellet stove as the wall heaters were sufficient. Had great meals at Brick and Fire, Lost Coast Brewery restaurant, The Grind, and 3 branches of Ramone bakery! The Samoa beaches are easy to access, lightly populated, and clean. Would definitely come again!

I loved our stay in this house. The natural light was so nice, and the sunrises from the back deck were beautiful. It is only minutes from an amazing beach. The neighborhood is a little up-and-coming, but everyone was super nice and friendly. It was also very, very clean. Would definitely stay again.

We loved the beach access, and the house was clean and cozy. The property manager provided helpful information that we utilized to help plan some of our excursions. It's a great base camp if you are interested in exploring the surrounding areas.
