Loved the yard/fire pit. Comfortable beds.

Adorable little house! Backyard was huge and great for hanging out. The industrial area its near really is no problem at all. Just doesn’t have a super charming view from the front lol. Lots of parking on the side street. Easy walk to the paved trail and downtown. Brewery right nearby too which was cute. Beds were comfy! No central ac but the units in the window sufficed

Comfortable place, as described. Walkable to downtown. Perfect for what we needed.

Even though we were on the edge of town, it was only a short walk (or quick drive) to downtown. Downtown Petoskey is amazing and one should walk the area to truly capture all the city has to offer. The house was beautifully designed with all the amenities we needed. We did not get the opportunity to enjoy the backyard, but it would definitely be a place of gathering if we were staying for more than a couple of nights.

We enjoyed our stay. The back yard / patio area made the trip. The neighborhood was quiet and it was a pleasant surprise to have a small grocery store on the corner. The the Petosky area this is a great value.
2.0 / 5.0
Poorly maintained property, inside and out and lacking in basic amenities- ie- cookware, hair dryer, a comfortable place to sit as a group, among others. Reviews from a year ago mention poor landscaping, wobbly table, musty smell, lack of sufficient hot water. Window AC units installed in a sloppy and unprofessional manner. All of these things are still the case. We were expecting a cute older home based on photos. It’s not what we got.
Communication with property manager was also poor. I needed to call, text and email several times at different numbers before getting a response.
If you like to sleep in or enjoy quiet, you will be bothered by the construction noise across the street.

The house provided plenty of space for our group! The beds were extremely comfortable, it was nicely decorated and with six adults we especially appreciated having three bathrooms. The first night, the upstairs was extremely warm, but we were able to adjust/figure out the thermostat settings for a more comfortable sleep for night two. There were a few little things you’d expect with an older home (water pressure, slow drain in the bathroom sink, etc), but nothing that had any significant impact on an enjoyable trip. The location is next to more of an industrial area, which might be a concern (noise) in the spring/summer months.

Convenient location for a family or small group. Walking distance to town with all of the basics. Not a quaint area but easy to get to all of the main spots. Nice stay.

The house was nice and there was plenty of room for us as this was a family holiday stay. Kitchen was easy to cook in and the big dining room table fit all of us. It may be the age of the house, but there was very little hot water for us. Other than that, it was a relaxing stay and met our needs.

This place is quaint and cute. Very close to all downtown restaurants and shops so planning our weekend was made very easy. Overall a great stay, clean place and easy to tidy up and left it as we came.

The house was very clean. It was easy to get to the down town area from the house.

We were in Petosky for a beautiful family wedding. This house was perfect for my family. We were able to host a couple small gatherings with family. Using the outdoor patio/table and the indoor kitchen/dining areas. The kids loved having their own bedrooms and it was nice to have 3 bathrooms. We walked to the trail along the river and were close enough to downtown to enjoy the festivities there too.

This was a very clean house. It was a perfect location to walk to town. Busy street during the day but quiet at night. Lovely backyard.

We used this rental as a homebase for our up north vacation for our family. The location is stellar in that it is very close to downtown, about a 3 to 5 minute drive to any of the restaurants or bars, which was very nice.
Like the other reviews stated, it is in an industrial area. We did not feel unsafe because of this however. On one of the week days, there was construction early in the morning that woke me up. However, we did not hear it on the weekend.
The clean up could use some work, especially for the cleaning fee included in the rental. We found clothes in the drawers and under the bed, one of the pillowcases had dirt and a stray hair on it. We were able to switch out the pillow for another as we were only using 3 of the 4 bedrooms. The upstairs bathtub needs a better system for the shower curtain as it was dirty and because it’s longer than the tub, you end up standing on it. It would also be nice if they provided soap/shampoo/conditioner for the bathrooms.
We used the washing machine/dryer with no issues.
Great and fast communication with the host.

Overall, cute home close to downtown Petoskey! It is a great value for the price.
While some of the reviews mention the home is close to an industrial area (and it is), our group felt safe as it is close to many other houses. It was also very close to downtown Petoskey and walkable to downtown.
The house was very cute with lots of areas to sit and spacious rooms. The backyard had lawn chairs and patio furniture. The house is a little bit older and had a musty smell, but it’s what I would expect with any older, up north home.
Lastly, the host was great and very easy to reach. We had a question about Wi-Fi and he was very responsive and helpful!

My family and I stayed for the labor day bridge walk. Location was away from the main downtown tourist area but a nice quiet affordable get away.

Well equipped, clean, backyard deck was perfect for hanging out. Thanks so much!

Overall, the house is fine. Just a few minutes of someone pulling weeks in front would make a big difference. Inside, the house was clean and cute. There is not a lot of seating in the living area, but for our group of four it worked fine. Although you could certainly walk to town if you choose to, it is several blocks and we drove.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was close to the shopping and downtown district with great places to eat AND close to the state park beach. The accommodations were great and my entire family wanted to buy the house and live there. Outside of a couple of hiccups, a curtain fell and a lot of spiders in house, and only one TV was hooked up to internet, it was a wonderful stay and we would definitely rent this property again.

This property is terrible. My friends and I (all women in our 50s) did not feel safe and left an hour after we arrived to find a hotel and regroup our plans. It is across the street from a railroad track and lots of dump trucks loading and unloading dirt/rocks. The house smells musty and moldy. A/C units in windows with wood cut out filling in window spaces with broken blinds blocking any possible airflow. Uneven slate flooring in kitchen and tiny living room. This house is very small, obviously a wide angle lense was used to take pics that were very deceiving. Backyard has a lot of broken fence boards and 6ft high weeds all around the deck. Yard is so overgrown, brings lots of bugs. Stairs to bedrooms upstairs are very narrow and steep with no hand railing. Upstairs claw foot tub to be used as a shower is much too high to step into or stand in during a shower. When owner was contacted all we got were excuses why each thing we pointed out was not acceptable. Many stairs on main level into living room, into main level bedroom, into bathroom. Used toilet paper was inside toilet and seat left up by whoever last used it. Would have been nice if owner agreed to reimburse us for part of our stay since we couldn’t stay and feel safe but they refused any refund except cleaning fee since we didn’t stay long enough for anything to need cleaning.

Cute house that's a 10 minute walk from downtown. The space is done up very nicely and is comfortable to stay and hang out in. The back yard is also really nice. Gives you a chance to explore Petoskey and stay in. Would recommend

This is an adorable older home with unique touches. The area is off the beaten path and is located in an industrial area. We liked the area as it was quieter (even with the trucks) than the town area. There is a neatly manicured Greenway you can walk (5-10 minutes) that takes you right to town. There is also close by a nature walk that takes you next to the Bear River, and you can get to the pier for sunsets this way. This home is new to VRBO and is undergoing some upgrades (fencing, landscape, and patio, to name a few).
Be patient, sit back, and enjoy your vacation.
We had limited kitchen supplies, i.e., salt, pepper, seasonings, trash bags, paper towel, napkins, baking dishes, baking trays, and mixing bowls. The manager was more than generous regarding this situation. The washing machine and dryer were not working correctly, and the manager replaced them with new ones during our stay. Great place. Would stay again!

Everything in this house is half done. It is located on the out skirts of town. It is very noisy in the morning due to being in the industrial section of town. If you have children or elderly do not bring them here. The floors are uneven. The front steps are a mess. The hot water heater went out first day. The railing was hanging out of the wall. To be fair, the property manager fixed both promptly.. The backyard was unusable because the grass was over grown and garden is in shambles. The deck is missing boards with nails exposed. I could go on and on. Advice, pick a different property.

We were quick to rent the house as we had been looking for a while with no luck. Unfortunately, we also did not read the reviews.
1. I’ve read after people staying there is construction nearby, and can be noisy in the morning. Although, it was not noisy for us, it is actually across from an industrial complex, just outside a residential neighborhood. For this reason, it was quite scary for the 12-13 year olds staying with us, and they would not go outside at all.
2. The house definitely has mold inside. The formal dining room and half bath area were quite strong. The rest of the house was mild. Because of this, our allergies were going CRAZY.
3. Washing machine works, but is noisy….dryer takes 3 high heat drying times to dry just a few towels.
4. There are a lot of ‘lips’ on the floor upstairs where you are constantly tripping.
5. The shower in the master bath (main floor) is good and clean. However, the tub in the upstairs bath was extremely dirty (to the point everyone wore shoes to shower) and the shower curtains badly need to be replaced.
6. The back yard is ok, but has an entire section by the deck and table overwhelmed by 3’+ weeds
Overall, the location is only about 7 blocks from the main strip, which is great… however, this home is much more suited to adults only, not kids.

We had booked this house within walking distance of town. It ended up with some yard construction the day we arrived. We were offered a condo in place of the house, which we accepted. The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked. We loved the back porch. It was near several stores and not a long drive to Petoskey or Harbor Springs. Our family would stay there again.

The house had a lot of space and potential. The backyard was in the process of being cleaned and one part of the fence was being rebuilt. When we arrived there were some lights that needed to be fixed and the owner quickly corrected the issue. We also experienced some issue with the AC but the owner promptly provided fans till new ac room units were delivered and installed. We are very happy with the owner’s quick response as he cared for us even at late time of the day. The workers that were fixing the yard were also very courteous and caring. Good people. The house is a few blocks from the river and downtown which makes it perfect for walking in the nature or on the city. The location of the house is a safe neighborhood. Having a family of 7 in a house this big was almost like being home. Kids could watch tv on their rooms or all together in the dining room or the living room in the back.

Thank you!

This place was just as it was advertised. The check-in process was easy and all of the rooms, beds, and common areas were cozy. The location was several blocks from downtown, thus the bargain price. We enjoyed bike riding in nearby Bear River Recreational park and then into downtown to enjoy the amenities Petoskey has to offer. We loved the convenience of tv's in many of the rooms, board games for the rainy day we had, and the back yard for sitting on the deck & storing our bikes. Would recommend!

Older house that has been very nicely redone. Close to downtown Petoskey. Amenities are decent. Bummer that it is across the street from a construction area. there was some early morning noise.

Lots of potential in this property to be a great vacation stay but a few small issues made it good not great. We couldnt get any of the smart TVs to connect to the internet (maybe just user error). One of the bed frames was on the verge of falling apart. A kitchen light fixture had a dozen or so bugs in it. We spent most of our time in the large shaded backyard which was a blessing but a little landscaping would have went a long way. I hope to come back in a year or two to a more finished and complete property.

The home is very cute! It had everything we needed inside and I liked the way it was decorated. It was kind of in a strange area but super close to everything we wanted to do during our stay. It was clean and well taken care of. We would definitely stay there again!!

My family and I were disappointed upon arriving at the house. It was located across from an industrial area and looked somewhat sketchy. I felt better upon entering the property but that dissipated upon exploring it. The property is in need of TLC except for the kitchen and dining room. The flooring is uneven and not senior friendly (especially for a walker). The stairs are very narrow and the upstairs flooring creaks badly. The baby gate at the bottom of the stairs was a hazard, not helpful. The tub/shower on the 2nd floor is dangerous to get in and out of, many light switches didn’t work throughout the house & only one small light worked in the kitchen. The living room only fit 3 people comfortably and the house layout was very disjointed. The small dining table off the living room is wobbly/unstable and the washing machine makes an awful loud noise while filling with water. The towels were thin and there were only 2 wash cloths in the house. The topper was being awakened every morning between 5:30-6:30 am by the trucks coming and going across the street from the industrial business. They would shake the house as they drove by, make pounding sounds as they were loading and unloading, and beep as they backed up.
I will say the kitchen and dining room were nice and the soaps and jars of cotton balls, Qtips, etc. in the bathrooms were a nice touch. It was also conveniently located to downtown. Unfortunately the cons outweighed the pros with this property.

The property was across from a construction site that started work at 630a. The shower was hot for one person. The couch smelled like old smoking.

Wasn’t at the property long. Basically just to sleep for the night. Everything was clean. Descriptions were accurate. Owner apologized for yard not being up to snuff which was totally understood being the time of year. Would use again and recommend. Thanks

This house was perfect for us as we were Visiting Petoskey for a Softball Tournament. We loved how close it was to both of the locations where my team played and how easy it was for my children to feel at home. Cute home!!
