Best hostel I've ever stayed in Sri Lanka!Comfortable bed and pillows, clean and spacious room/bathroom. Guys created a great atmosphere so you feel welcomed right away. Thanks to that everyone is kind and friendly to each other, which makes it perfect for solo travellers.

We got a room upgrade, which gave us loads of space and a really cool private balcony. The bathroom was also big. Good central location to restaurants and the beach. Owner gave great recommendations for places to eat. Quite for a hostel but there was things going on if you felt like sociable.

The property itself is really nice and super clean. There is a great communal area to socialise with other guests and the staff are all lovely. There is also a restaurant downstairs that serves really delicious food. The location is perfect, seconds away from the beach!

I loved my stay at the Hummus Hostel, the location is perfect across from the beach and close to a bus stop. We stayed in a dorm room which was spacious, clean and comfortable definitely one of the best rooms we’ve stayed in during our trip.
There’s a welcoming social seating area with super comfy chairs, various games are available too…food is served on an evening which is just delicious and a highlight of the stay!

The staff was friendly, there is a touch of "home" in the hostel. It has very nice wide spaces, comfortable rooms! I got me a nice balcony :D Oday was extremely friendly, helped me get medicine when I was getting sick, and gave a few indications for cool places around!
The location was very convenient and accessible from the main road.
Nothing worth mentioning at all! Just a general recommendation for traveling in Sri Lanka, close the windows to avoid insects/mosquitos!

Mostly I don't write review..But hummus is amazing..The owner is wonderful person..He knows how to run the hostel.. very helpful..The cleaness is 100%..Free water. coffee. green tea.hot water machine..24 hours available.. Location is incredible..I will come back Hikkaduwa only because Hummus hostel..

Generous and very helpful host! Went out of his way to accomodate our middle of the night arrival! Free tea and coffee which was awesome and it’s walking distance to turtle beach in Hikkaduwa! Clean and comfortable spacious room! Would stay again!

Everything! The staff made sure I was happy and attended to at all times, it made me feel safe and comfortable. The accomodation was clean bright and welcoming with a lot of chill space. The location was perfect, a cheap taxi away from surrounding areas and literally across the road from the beach which is beautiful also. A lot of food places near by but the hotel is building a restaurant and shisha lounge which will be completed soon and it’s just going to take this place to the next level! Plenty party places near by also. Good place to meet people as a solo traveller.

Incredible hostel! Facilities are great, AC and lots of room. Is a really beautiful space. I also love being able to wash/hang your own laundry. Highly recommend, would love to stay again.

A new resort, in a central location. The room was very quiet, considering it's near the main road. Host is super kind. There is a motorbike parking area, free water and tea, lounge to rest, and the balconies are awesome.
The restaurant could already have been open, but that's not the resort's fault, whatsoever.

The owner Oday is a gem of a person. One of the best guys I ever met in my life. The other staff was also very polite and helpful. Oday even let me his kitchen for free and lend me his shaving trimmer to use.
The property is beautiful and the location is quite nearby popular areas. Do visit this hostel and enjoy your stay. I promise you wont regret it.

Great place with amazing host. It is full of possibilities: hookans, hall for dinner, balconies with cozy armchairs, barbershop. It is good place for dinner nearby, and unlimited spot with tea, water and coffee inside.
Wifi was everywhere, interier is nice.
For your bike you can use inside safe territory.
So, I am going to come back here, when will be next time in hikkaduwa

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Hummus Hostel & Restaurant during my recent trip to Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka, and I can honestly say that it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The name intrigued me from the get-go, and this hidden gem exceeded my expectations in every way.
From the moment I arrived, the warm and inviting atmosphere enveloped me. The owner at Hummus Hostel is genuinely kind-hearted and friendly, always going the extra mile to make sure all guests are comfortable and well-taken care of.
The hostel itself is a beautiful, well-maintained property with clean and spacious rooms. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The common areas are thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect balance of cozy nooks for quiet time and social spaces for mingling with fellow travelers.
The location of the hostel is also ideal, situated within walking distance to the stunning Hikkaduwa beach, where you can bask in the sun, surf the waves, or simply admire the breathtaking sunsets.

The hostel restaurant is not open yet, but the owner is now preparing to open one really delicious Middle Eastern restaurant (will offer shawerma/doner and falafel, etc.) that would be amazing to eat from

The facilities are very nicely decorated and clean. Well located and easy access to the best food and views. The staff were very helpful and made us feel like home immediately. The beach across the road is so beautiful and is well located close to several diving and surfing schools, nice bars, party places and ayurveda places. I loved my experience there and Hummus was big part of my joy in Hikkaduwa

The location is great, very central and at a picturesque spot , just round from turtle beach. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The rooms large, beds huge and comfy. The wifi worked well and the shower was good.

The hostel is located right across the street from the beach. We had a beautiful room with a nice balcony. the experience was very good! Free coffee/Tea stand between the rooms for everyone to use and its included in the price. The restaraunt on the first floor is not ready yet but the sitting area they have is amazing. Staff can help you with organizing tours to various places like jeep safari …etc
Moreover, there are many great places for surfing and diving in Hikkaduwa. Come to Hummus Hostel and you will not be disappointed!
