Named after the mythical Norse god of love, you will make the connection to the charm of this space the minute you step in. Awaken to sunrises and calm lakes and dramatic mesmerizing waves and ships on Lake Superior at Freya at The Njord. Enjoy this newly remodeled one-bedroom unit in Duluth’s central HART District.

The coziest property at The Njord, Freya, with its breathtaking views and dream-like touches captures the Norse-inspired essence of the property and location. Built in 1933, history meets modern in this landmark boutique building that has been lovingly restored and remodeled with thoughtful attention to detail, including large windows, tall ceilings, luxury vinyl flooring, and comfortable, quiet flooring.

The 700-square-foot unit comprises of a quaint kitchenette and intimate living space with full views of Lake Superior as well as a statement electric fireplace. The spacious bedroom with double dresser and hooks also offers large views of the world’s largest freshwater lake. Reclaimed wood headboard -

The kitchen, with local Mesabi black granite counters, is appointed with the guest traveler in mind. A bar counter and three stools provide a view of the lake for relaxing mornings sipping coffee before the day begins and a gathering area at the end of the day for a cocktail and dinner. The efficient kitchen is completely equipped with new stainless-steel appliances and single-sink and open shelving for cookware and utensils. There is nothing you’ll be missing to make your stay comfortable. Leave those tools at home!

Freya’s lounging space is set up perfectly for views of the lake a swivel chair and a leather queen-sized sleeper sofa facing both the lake and a TV with the electric fireplace below. With the bedroom further off the living space, this bonus sleeping area is quiet and private for a couple or family member or friend.

The bedroom is appointed with a queen-sized bed with comfortable and quality mattress and bedding, a double dresser and hooks, and TV. With views facing the lake, the reclaimed wood behind the bed, creates a inviting sleeping nook in this space. A stackable washer and dryer are hidden away in a bedroom closet.

An ensuite bathroom with a roomy shower and glass door is arranged for comfortable use with fresh linens and organic EO products. While cozy and efficient, the unit is well-planned for a comfortable stay with useful furniture and fixtures like hooks and shelving.

A smart home, the space has modern amenities including smart TVs, digital thermostats and electronic entry keypads.

Freya at The Njord is nearby fine restaurants and cafes, local coffeehouses, retail shops, parks and Duluth’s famous Lake Walk trail and Canal Park – all accessible in minutes out the front door. Whether staying for business or leisure, Freya is perfectly situated for an authentic and memorable Duluth/North Shore meeting, event, adventure or just time away. HART District is the center of arts and entertainment with historic buildings, artisans and theatres.

One of three units at The Njord located off the bustling Superior Street and overlooking THE Lake Superior and the Lake Superior Scenic Railroad. The possibility of interconnecting our other two units "Thor" and "Odin" gives the unique possibility to host large families and corporate events. We had a spectacular time while staying at Njord in the Freya unit. The space is very nicely decorated with fantastic views of Lake Superior. The unit was well supplied with everything you would need to be comfortable and even entertain a few guests. Parking was very convenient! Parking is always a big deal so to have a dedicated spot right infront of the unit was great. Love the shower head! We will absolutely stay there whenever it’s possible!

This is s a great place. Perfect view of the lake, and even the lift bridge and ships coming and going. Nice short walk to great bars and restaurants in both directions, great parking, and access to a walking trail along the lake that is beautiful and leads right to Canal Park for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Beautiful and comfortable, great views from every room.

You cannot get a better location for a Downtown Duluth visit. We have visited the north shore many times, and being able to park here and walk was amazing. The view is lovely. However, it’s missing things that make it an amazing luxury experience. Our room did not have any walkout or outside access (Frieda). I think one of the other rooms do, as we can see that below. It’s a new property so they have some things to work out - our checkin time differed on the app versus the email which was confusing. We were going to wash some clothes but no laundry soap. There were no tissues or coffee on site, nor the outlets don’t have USB plug ins anywhere. The oven may have never been used yet as it smelled bad with chemicals when we turned it on and had to open all the windows. The bed is a queen yet it is a one bedroom so you would think they would have planned for a king? If you don’t plan on spending much time in the suite obviously this wouldn’t matter, but with views like that, why wouldn’t you want to just stay in and stare at the water? :)

This place is well worth every penny. We have stayed in rental places all over the country and this one is as nice as they get. Location was great, close to the trail and great restaurants. Uncle Louis Cafe is worth the walk (or drive) for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved it the second we opened the door. Great location and beautiful decorating. We've told many people about your place already and we will be back for sure. My only issue was that we couldn't find two remote controls, very bummed because one was for the fireplace and it was a chilly evening. We tried to contact Management but no one ever got back to us. Otherwise, great job on the renovation - we loved it!

We had a wonderful stay here for our 36th wedding anniversary! It is in the middle of so much to do, yet once we were in the place, it was so peaceful. What a great view, nice accommodations, and easy to get to so many things by walking! Perfect place!
