Beautifully decorated, furnished and well located

Traffic was a bit noisey when sitting out on the deck. Not when inside though.

Hidden treasure

The host was very accommodating and very helpful. The location was excellent for where we were and it was a perfect little home away from home for us on our wedding weekend.

Traumatizing experience

Facilities were nice however no privacy if you want any sort of privacy do not book this place as they have cameras that watch you and record everything you or anyone is doing. it's actually very invasive the host and her partner are very rude to say the least we prepaid for the property in advance overnight we had a couple of family friends children who ended up in a domestic violence situation and had nowhere to go so we let them rest with us at the property due to them having nowhere safe to go then at 8am in the morning the host and co tured up stormed through the house yelling( I was in the shower at the time with no clothes on)they were demanding $75 for the extra guests we had barley had time to open our eyes n was nowhere near checkout time they abused my daughter demanding money and invaded our privacy they were informed that I was naked but ignored my daughter n continued to walk through the property demanding their $75 I told them I didn't have it and that I could pay it the next day (when my pay came through) however they said no money then we are calling the cops the whole situation got blown rite out of proportion it was very invasive rude and damn rite unprofessional especially considering I had msgd them back that night explaining my situation with the extra kids /guests our family is actually a little traumatized by the whole scenario especially due to the fact that we were there ourselves for the night for a safe place for my daughter due to a domestic violence situation she was in herself that night before these people had no consideration or care for anyone or anything except their extra money $75 they say we owed for the extra guests we treated their house with very much respect even did our dishes n laundry eg towels etc of theirs n had made sure to keep the place clean and tidy n treat it with respect I would think that I could expect the same treatment in return but in this case very much not so what was meant to be a...

Great tree top hideaway yet only a short walk to the "hub" of Whangarei.

Location was great although had not expected the number of vehicles that travelled past the property which was noticeable when sitting on the outside deck which overlooked the road. Traffic noise was not so noticeable when inside. The interior décor was a great surprise and very much enjoyed. The living area and bedrooms were of good size and would make for an enjoyable extended stay. Car parking off Hatea Drive was easy although the steps up to the house were accurately described in the notes so not suitable for everyone. The alternate access to the house was straightforward although limited car parking as described.

Some of the window latches did not seal completely which did mean some street noise was more noticeable particularly in the road facing rooms.

Very nice place to stay but you need to be able to walk up/down a steep slope.

The location was good, nice view and an ok walk into the shops. The bed was firm, I prefer soft, but I actually slept very well. We only stayed one night as we were travelling, but would have happily stayed a lot longer. Better than the more expensive hotel we stayed in whilst in Auckland. Would return if staying in that area again. The property was large and comfortable. It should be noted that there really is no disabled access. I have trouble with knees and just managed it. But if you need walking crutches or wheel chair then this would be no good.

It was close to a main road and hence traffic noise. However that noise died down at night and wasn’t an issue. Also if you are used to living in a town or city then you probably wouldn’t even notice the noise. It’s not something that can be change and whilst it would have been nice if the was less noise, it’s not something that would stop me returning.

Very handy to the Basin, clean and comfortable , lovely decor

No batteries in heat pump and it was very cold, and road noise was Constant all night

Last minute booking and the place met all our expectations and needs. Had one of the best nights sleep during our trip to New Zealand. Grocery & liquor stores, and a wonderful Thai restaurant within walking distance

Gorgeously presented,feels very luxurious. high standard of presentation and cleanliness. Great place to relax and enjoy. My 9 year old says the house was spectacular and artistic!

Property could do with double glazing to combat road noise. A clothes drying rack for inside would be a great addition. Towels were nice idea but not all that absorbent just a personal preference.

Hatea Treehouse- a great find!

A great central location in Whangarei. Cosy and comfortable set in lush beautiful trees, the Treehouse had interesting and fun decor with details that we enjoyed and appreciated.

Simply the Best!

Breakfast was not applicable but the location is fantastic & the house is beautiful and clean with all amenities. I loved the price of $225 per night for 4 adults, very affordable. Thanks! I loved that Julie allowed a later exit given we arrived at 9.00pm the night previous and, we'd travelled from Kaitaia. Thank you Julie.

In using google map, it took us to the main-road side instead of to the street itself. With Julie's suggestion of entering a different house number took us to the correct place.

Warm and comfortable stay in a beautiful home

A beautiful house in a great location only a few minutes drive from the town centre. Warm and cozy for our winter stay and so thoughtfully decorated. We stayed as a family group, plenty of room for all and the beds were all comfortable and warm. Added bonus - great water pressure
