Location good but owner needs to step up.

Location is very good. Good sized rooms.

Televsion was only accessible by logging into our cable account. There was no basic cable TV provided and this should have been available for the price we were paying. Back doors did not lock properly and at times flew open. We had to try and secure some doors with rope. It was not very effective. Kitchen poorly equipped--no electric kettle. Coffee maker was not user friendly. There should be some sort of welcoming message and instructions on how things work.

Will never book with Booking.com again

The location was excellent - we were just a mile from Westhampton Centre and very near the person I was visiting (the purpose of the trip in the first place).

On the night we arrived, it was impossible to find the key box. Then, as I was about to go to sleep (after a 7 hr flight and 2 hr car ride) I could hear banging outside my room. I discovered that the rear doors to the house were flapping open in the wind and upon inspection, another rear door to the enclosed porch was not locked. I managed to lock the porch door but was unable to lock the rear door. I phoned Vacasa and Booking.com who assured me that someone would be there to fix the problem. That was 11:45pm Friday night. The person to fix the problem showed up on Monday morning. Imagine staying in a strange house, in a foreign country with an external door not lockable (not even able to shut) for two nights! The service was appalling. I phoned both Vacasa and Booking.com many times. I communicated by text on their site. They were all utterly useless. Have I been offered compensation for this??? Absolutely not. In the end, an American friend of mine came to the house on Sunday and helped me shut and lock this door, which took four hands and a bit of strength to do. Further to this, there were lights in the main bathroom that didn't work, a bathtub in the main bathroom that did not produce water to fill the tub (when I turned on the taps, nothing came out!) and in another bathroom, the water flowed into a bathtub, but the shower didn't work. When the Vacasa rep showed up on Monday (Travis - very nice and helpful, I have no complaints about him at all, he even helped us fix a chain on a bike) I pointed out the waterless bathtub and non-functioning lights, but they were not sorted while we were there for the next three days. The owners should be made aware that Vacasa are not looking after their property (the garden is not fenced in, so anyone could have walked into this house via two open back doors) and I am disgusted with Booking.
