About this house rental
Beautiful, high-end home on the water in the heart of Florida's Nature Coast. Water in back, and nothing but native Florida wilderness in the front! Beautifully landscaped and furnished with comfortable sleeping accommodations for as many as 12 people (no more than 8 adults, please).
The home has 3 beautifully-furnished bedrooms and a private office that can be closed off to use as a fourth bedroom. The office offers a beautiful windowed wall with an open view through the patio lanai and pool, and over the landscaped yard to the water!
The master bedroom offers the same lovely water visage via large sliding glass doors, with the added advantage of a romantic opening directly to the built-in hot tub. Just slide the door, and slide in....
The rear door opens to a covered bar seating area that leads to a large patio and lanai running the home's length. A large L shape pool occupies one side, and a separate built-in hot tub on the other. The hot tub is just off the master bedroom, and features a beautiful stone façade, surround seating, and a retractable awning, just in case one of those tropical Florida rains happens by.
Also available on site are a washer and dryer with all needed for its use. In winter months, the pool can be heated for an additional small fee if there is no freezing temperatures. If too cold and cannot be heated, fee is refunded.
In addition to sunbathing and water frolicking, the large patio and pool offer a host of playtime activities including water basketball, water volleyball, mini-ping pong, and a full-size corn-hole set (for an out-of-water experience). For guests who prefer to vacation outside of the heat of Florida summer, the pool can be heated if necessary (it's generally not required in summer!). Our pool is a "saltwater pool", meaning its just as clean as chlorine with no harsh feel or taste. As a bonus, the bleaching effects of chlorine don't apply; your bathing suit stays pristine.
A BBQ grill, large table with plenty of seating, and a covered bar and seating area (again, tropical rains do happen!) provide plenty of space for outdoor cooking, dining, and drinking activities.
The lanai opens to an immaculately landscaped yard with outdoor shower area, the watersport rack (stand-up paddle boards and kayak), a rustic firepit space with seating that sits directly on the water, a sidewalk along the sea wall, and a large floating dock with patio furniture. The small grass areas are the perfect size for setting up the cornhole boards.
The water-front sidewalk (sea wall cap) runs the length of the yard, with a ramp out to a large floating dock. It is not uncommon to see manatees and various other sea animals and birds off the dock. The dock also offers outdoor furniture to provide a beautiful place to enjoy your morning coffee, a meal, or a drink directly on the water. We've been known to catch a few bass off the dock and wall as well, although catfish are more common.
We are avid stand-up paddle (SUP) boarders, and so we offer a large selection of boards for the more active guests, along with two Kayaks for the balance-challenged. We have both inflatable and hard boards available. This is the best way to see Florida! We have some very stable beginner boards to make it an enjoyable experience for most everyone. It's easier than you think, and absolutely the best way to experience the beauty and serenity of Florida's abundant nature!
Our waterway connects directly with the local Indian River, a short paddle away, which offers some breathtaking coves and natural areas and wildlife on the way to the magnificent Crystal River. It then joins Crystal River 2 miles from our dock and right next to the ancient Indian burial mounds of the beautiful and fascinating Archaeological State Park. A site well worth visiting, whether by SUP, bike, or even car. For the more adventurous, (or those with a boat!), a bit further up Crystal River (to the left) is the great Kings Bay and its famous Manatee sightseeing activity, along with the a host of watersports, bars, and restaurants. Paddle boards are the best way to experience the magnificent and friendly Manatees. We see them swimming along our wall about once a day. This year we had a mother give birth to a brand new baby just off our dock! If you're really lucky, you could even see dolphins fishing the waterway, though that's certainly more rare.
For boaters, our waterway is right around the corner from a local public ramp. Once in, you can leave your boat at our dock for the length of your stay. You can leave it longer, if you'd like, as long as you leave us the key! And the home has plenty of spare space for trailers. There are no houses across the street (natural preserve), so it offers ample parking for boat trailers for our Guests.
One of the advantages of this property is its proximity to the Gulf. Turning to the right (west) where our local Indian river joins with Crystal River, you immediately arrive at Twin Rivers Marina, and the beginning of the Gulf and open water (although it's very shallow here and takes a long time to reach deep water!). This is also the beginning of Salt River, a gorgeous, shallow natural coastal (if somewhat spaghettified) waterway that teams with little islands, mangroves, and local turtles, stingrays, dolphins, and a myriad of other local wildlife - both in the water and air. Boaters are advised to stay on Crystal River itself for access directly out to the Gulf, as Salt River has been known to offer more than a few opportunities to run aground in the shallows. While it's a bit treacherous for the unfamiliar boat captain, it is breathtaking for the paddler!
The Crystal River area remains, for the most part, natural and unspoiled. Much more so than most other areas of Florida. The water is clean, with large areas of both wet and dry land that has net yet been altered by man. It offers some of the very best fishing available anywhere, with everything from local shallows to deep water Gulf fishing. Many local charters are available to show you right right spots!
The scalloping season (July, August, and September) is world famous and one of the most fun boating activities you will ever enjoy. We even provide a few sets of snorkeling equipment, for those who don't have their own. Scalloping can be enjoyed in water as shallow as only 3 feet deep, which makes it accessible to almost everyone, including beginner swimmers and those not so comfortable in deeper water. Deeper areas above 7 feet deep can sometimes offer better pickings, especially later in the season, but bring a bit more of a challenging snorkeling environment. Some may find it difficult to get down that deep to find those little treasures hanging out in the grass!
For the truly fitness minded, our home offers a weight and exercise room, to burn those calories you're consuming on your vacation! In addition to weights, jump ropes, rowing and step machines, etc. we keep our SUP paddles, rackets, and bikes in here.
The Exercise room also has multiple bikes for land-based exploration of the teaming local wildlife and natural landscape. Bikers can choose either a nature cruise or a more urban experience (albeit a small one!) through the quaint down-town Crystal River shopping district and the cross town trail. There are lots of places to stop for food (and drink) on the water!
A more nature-oriented bike ride might start with a short loop around the local lake, then by a groomed 7 mile loop through the natural wilderness of the Crystal River Preserve, and then on to end at the Crystal River Preserve State park. Here you can look out over a water at the junction of Crystal and Salt rivers - a popular place for seeing dolphins!
Whether by SUP, boat, bike, or car, Crystal River is a great place to vacation. Whether you're looking for local seafood, a festive atmosphere with live music, or just a drink on the water with a gorgeous view, Crystal River offers it, and with a quaint, safe, small-town feel. And we like to think we offer one of the nicest places to experience this charming area. We're happy to offer advice to our guests on what to do and see, so please feel free to reach out before and during your stay.
*Note for Winter guests:
The pool can be heated during reasonably warm conditions. As a large outdoor pool, it's difficult to heat when very cold outside. The electric heat pump (there is no gas available in this area) will NOT function under ambient temperatures of 50ºF or lower. Therefore, we offer our Guests the option to heat the pool, but can ONLY do so during periods where the weather forecast calls for LOW temperatures to remain above 50º all night long. The last thing we want is disappointed Guests! So December and January Guests PLEASE understand that this is not south Florida and there is a good chance that the pool cannot be heated.

The house worked great for our group of 6 to spend the week scalloping. Dock was nice and worked well for our 22' boat. Kitchen was well equipped for making family meals. Didn't get a chance to use the workout room or the paddle boards, but they are a nice amenity! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Our family visits Crystal River every year. This was our first time staying at this house. Location is great for a quick trip to go out scalloping. Enough room for our family. One of our favorite parts was the pool. After a long day in the sun, it was a great end to our day. Couldn’t recommend more.

We had an amazing time. House was clean and well appointed. The kids loved the pool. It was great being able to keep the boat at the house. Would definitely rent this home again!

Our grown kids and grandkids stayed at the property in June and had a blast. Home was beautiful. We fished on the dock, everyone used the kayaks, paddle boards and bikes. Pool was refreshing and loved that we had everything we needed. Would love to stay again. Hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Our family hated to leave. Would definitely book again. We brought our boat and had a fabulous 50th birthday trip for a friend. The owners were so accommodating to us from the very beginning. You could ask for better communication from any host. The house had anything you would need and very clean. We will definitely return.

A very nice, clean, and enjoyable place to stay for our mini-vacation. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the pool much because the water was so cold. Next time we would come a little more towards summer. We were excited to have a grill but we had a grease fire day one. We were able to overcome the issue after thoroughly cleaning the grill. We only used it once. We appreciate the response in getting the Internet back up as quickly as possible. We did enjoy ourselves and tried to treat the house as our own. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful home.

This is the best place we have ever stayed at! The home and yards were very clean and everything you could possibly need, they had it! Amazing place and extremely quiet and peaceful! Owners were the absolute best with communication!

Spent a long weekend here visiting our son. He goes to school in Orlando. Wanted to see the manatee but they already went back out to the gulf. We did see one. Had a great time paddle boarding, kayaking, using the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. Very clean well kept house with all the amenities you could need. Lots of wildlife to watch.

Wonderful home with alot of room and comfort. Pool and lani area very relaxing and seawall was perfect for fishing. Definitely a repeat for the family!

We were down from Florida to visit our Father who is in assisted living in Crystal River. The house was exactly what we needed and Dad really enjoyed spending time with us by the pool each day. The kitchen is really well appointed and had pretty much everything anyone could need to feed a big group. We were also impressed by the amount of outdoor seating provided. We unexpectedly ended up hosting a lunch for 10 family members who live locally and had no trouble accommodating everyone!

We visited the property early April 2024, and really enjoyed everything about it. We took advantage of everything the house and the area has to offer. We loved the paddle boards, kayaks, bikes and baskerball hoop, they were used most frequently. We brought fishing poles with us and fished off the wall everyday and had some luck! The beds were very comfortable, the water pressure was great and the house was in really good shape. A gem. We did rent a pontoon and kept it overnight at the house, it was a very simple process. Thank you for everything, we are still talking about how lovely it was.

The property was exactly as advertized and spotlessly clean. Its clear the owners take great pride in their home and strive to make guests comfortable. All the little touches did not go unnoticed. Communication was exceptional. This is probably one of the best equiped homes we have stayed in. We truly enjoyed our visit.

Everything was great. We had a nice relaxing stay.

We had such a great time in Crystal River and having this as our landing pad was definitely one of our highlights. It was fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The pool and hot tub were so relaxing and the view was spectacular. The customer service we received was also above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Would definitely come back in the future and will be recommending to friends and family that travel to the area!

This place has it all! Very comfortable and the hosts have covered every detail. Tastefully decorated with a great outdoor area. We travel to the area frequently and this will be the first place we will try and book from here on out. The hosts were great, very friendly and helpful when needed. They even went out of their way to drop my husband a 50th birthday present. It is a special home in a special place.

Amazing stay. Wonderful hosts. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Great communication too. House is spotless and you feel right a home. Hot tub and pool are such a bonus. Beautiful setting on the water. We will be back and recommend this as your go to in Crystal River. Thank you!!!!

We had the best time at this home. It was beautiful inside and out. Plenty of beds and extra bedding. The heated pool and hot tub were used multiple times a day, every day we were there. We also loved having the gym there as well.
I’m ready to retire and live here forever. We’ll for sure be back!

This is a lovely home, clean, well decorated , and equipped with everything you need for a fun vacation. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, paddle boards, kayaks, games, etc. The kitchen was particularly well stocked. The screened lanai was large and very nice. The yard was beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed hanging out there watching the river and all the birds. We especially liked seeing the flock of white ibis that came to visit. Finally, the hosts were very responsive and kind. We highly recommend.

The property exceeded our expectations. It was very cold time in Florida but the hot tub made up for the cold. The beds were comfortable and the house was relaxing. I also took up rowing in the gym area that the house had. Kitchen and bathrooms were stock with everything we needed. Would come back and will recommend to friends.

We enjoyed our visit to the Manatee Festival even more because of such a lovely home. It had everything we needed and more. There games for passing downtime with fun. Equipment for exercise was a lovely bonus that I rarely see in a rental home. Soft linens and great beds in a quiet neighborhood provided for a great nights sleep

We had a great time despite the weather which was a little cool and rainy at times. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The canal was great for fishing and we saw both manatees and dolphins in the canal. The house was beautiful and well stocked. Would definitely stay again.

The house is beautiful. It is clean, well stocked and just as described. Liset and Clint are great at communicating and checking in. We went to Three Sisters Springs nearby and it was beautiful. We enjoyed using the hot tub at night and tried some of the local eateries recommended by hosts. Everything was wonderful and I would recommend this home, area and hosts.

We are so grateful for the stay we had! It was perfect for my family! We were in the water everyday and spent most of the time outside! The gym was perfect for me to practice yoga and do some light weights and the my husband got to ride a bike everyday like he does at home! We ate at the house most days for comfort reasons but there was a cute down town not to far away!!!
I recommend this stay 10/10!!!! If your questioning it; trust me and book this house!!! You won’t regret it!!!
(Just make sure you go food shopping on the way ao you can enjoy the home right away!!!)

We loved this house for our scalloping trip last week! Liset was a wonderful communicator, and she even gave us great restaurant recommendations. This house has everything that you need to feel at home - the kitchen is completely stocked with pots and pans, appliances, dishes and flatware, plus basic baking ingredients, oil and spices, garbage bags and aluminum foil (basically it has all the things that I usually have to take with me on a vacation!) We never lacked for anything. The house is beautiful and clean, with a workout room (that my teenage boys enjoyed every morning!) and several paddle boards and kayaks. The pool and hot tub were clean and felt great after a long day outside in the sun. The laundry room is completely stocked with detergent, baskets, fabric softener, etc. The location is very nice, located on a canal in the back that is only a short paddle to either a small lake or a river, and in the front there is nothing across the street but trees. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back to enjoy another time!

Our trip to this home was perfect. We had an amazing time swimming, cooking, boating, and enjoying our friend’s weekend. The home had all the essentials and lots of paddle boards and kayaks for us to use as well. Thank you!

This home was immaculate and perfectly located on the water. My family had an amazing time scalloping close by and enjoying the pool and the views. We will definitely be back. The Owners were more than accommodating and super nice!

Wow!! what an amazing weekend!! So much to do! Between the pool, Scallops, and the city 100 birthday! Thank you to PT airboat adventures for the tour! The house has everything you can need! We had soo much fun! we are coming back next year!

Very nice house. Would definitely recommend! The downtown Crystal River area was easily accessible and super cute to explore. The house itself is clean and very nicely furnished. The back patio and yard area are really pretty and well-kept. It really is like a little resort! One day we just grilled, swam, and hung out and never even left the house! We fished a little from the dock and did some local paddling. The nature and wildlife in the area are amazing, and we even saw a few manatees! It was the perfect little retreat to escape daily life with some family and friends. Thanks to the owners for being so helpful and attentive, and for opening up their lovely house to us so we could make some great memories!
