We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farmhouse. It was perfect for our family gathering (3 households, ages ranging from 3 - 70s). The large bedroom on the first floor had plenty of space for us to keep our youngest on a cot in the room with us. There were two cabinets of games for all ages, large bins of duplos, and easily over 1000 VHS and DVDs in the house for entertainment. The kids loved running in the yard and playing on the basketball court (plenty of balls and equipment were in the storage bin). Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms (two that are adjoining) and 2 full bathrooms. There are two sets of stairs to get to them, one of which is pretty steep (narrow treads), but you can avoid them if you prefer. The parking spot in front of the house fit our 3 cars. We enjoyed the grill and the fire pit for roasting marshmallows (there was firewood ready). The kids also loved what we called "the secret room" which was the other office just across the breezeway from the rest of the house. It was filled with kids videos, a tv and some large stuffed animals my 3yo happily greeted. The house had everything we needed to spend some quality time together with family.
The location can't be beat. We were less than 10 minutes drive from the Aerodrome and the County Fair. Mike was kind enough to let us check in a little early so we could drop food off before our plans and was available via text if we needed him (but the house had everything already).

We stayed for two nights with another couple. There was plenty of room in this quaint old farmhouse. The location is private and quiet. Although we did not get a chance to take advantage of them all, there are all the amenities that you could ask for. The house was clean and comfortable. It was hot while we were there and the in room AC units kept it comfortable. The location is an easy drive to downtown, Hyde Park, and the aerodrome. The owner was very helpful during our trip.

This spacious truly magical home was just the perfect weekend getaway for our family. It is well appointed with so many amazing features. It is perfectly located in a private setting with plenty of space for everyone. And there are so many amazing shops and restaurants in all the small towns that are a short distance away. Host was very informative and accommodating. We would highly recommend this rental to friends and family.

On short notice, we were looking for a place to stay for my husband, our 3 adult "kids" and their significant others in order to attend a funeral in the area. Michael's place worked perfectly for us. We each had our own bedroom, plenty of space to sit and talk and a beautiful back patio complete with sitting area, fire pit and great ping pong table. There is a very nice Nordic Spa hot tub that unfortunately we didn't have time to use. We did get a chance to spend some time playing pickleball and the large field was great for a quick game of football. The house is located on a quiet country road with little to no traffic. It is a quick drive into Rhinebeck or Red Hook. This is a beautiful historic house in a beautiful historic part of NY. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again if/when we are back in the area.

This farmhouse was a cozy retreat for our adult family birthday weekend. Ideally situated close enough to town, but quietly removed as well. One of the best equipped VRBOs I have rented - everything needed is there. Mike was an attentive and helpful host. Great experience all around!

We rented this home for a college graduation weekend/family reunion. The bedrooms/sleeping options accommodated 10 of us, and four additional family members who stayed elsewhere joined us for meals, hangouts etc. We had grandparents, teens and young kids as part of the group; the hot tub, ping pong and basketball, as well as the huge collection of books, toys, movies and games available, kept everyone entertained. We all enjoyed the "homey" feel, and appreciated that Michael is a very kind and easygoing host.
The only thing for folks to consider is a set of steep, 19th century stairs. Despite the host's warning, two members of our group fell when (foolishly) attempting to navigate them in socks. No one was injured but it did create some momentary excitement. There is an alternate set of stairs to use, and one bedroom on the main floor for guests who can't climb at all, but the layour is something to consider if you have toddlers who will try to explore, anyone in your party with a mobility issue etc.

This was the perfect oasis for our new year's crew - the kids LOVED the extra room and we all made great use of the fireplace. Beautifully cozy home surrounded by trees - not to mention the delightful hot tub which also got a lot of our attention. Would happily return if we find ourselves in need of quiet spot. Also, incredible communication from the property owner. Highly recommend!

Had a great stay here, turning up to lights on, music playing and a warm house was perfect for the time of year, with ample firewood for the gorgeous open fire, and a quick easy drive into the center of Rhinebeck, everything we wanted. Communication was great, and all check-in & check-out was easy.

We had a wonderful long weekend with a full house of 9 adults in this rambling farmhouse. It was prefect for an old college friends get together. There's lots of different types of spaces for people to gather. We had warm weather that allowed us to spill out onto the patio and a rainy day that let us hangout in front of the fire. Mike was a helpful and responsive host. We'll be back next year.

We recently had the privilege of staying at this charming 1834 rental house in Rhinebeck, and it truly exceeded all expectations. This historic gem transported us back in time while providing all the modern comforts we needed.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the beautifully preserved architecture and the attention to detail in every room. The original woodwork, antique furnishings, and period-appropriate decor made us feel like we were living in a bygone era, yet with all the conveniences of today.
The kitchen was a highlight, with a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern appliances. Cooking and dining in this space felt like a step back in time while enjoying gourmet meals at the rustic farmhouse table.
The bedrooms were cozy and comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like luxurious linens and fluffy pillows. The owners clearly take pride in maintaining the historical integrity of the house while ensuring guests have a comfortable stay.
One of the best features of this property is its location. Situated just outside of Rhinebeck, we were within a 3 minute drive of shops, restaurants, and attractions. We spent our days exploring the quaint town and our evenings relaxing on the spacious back patio, sipping wine and taking in the picturesque surroundings.
The property managers were incredibly accommodating and provided excellent communication during our stay. We are planning on returning next year!

Stayed over Labor weekend and we loved the charm and ambiance of this lovely country house. The house is super cozy and well equipped ...there was nothing that we were missing during our stay. Weather was perfect so we took advantage of the outdoor space, there is the backyard nook, huge field to lounge on and played a bit of pickleball. Mike our host is great and suggested additional activities in the area, the Aerodrome was amazing! we were able to take in the airshow and really enjoyed it, walked around town a bit and hit the farmers marked. Village pool is actually really nice, although we didn't actualy take advantage of it we did endup driving through the complex to see it. Walked around Ferncliff forest too and the best part is that all these activities are no more than a 7 minute drive from the house.

A fun 200 year old farmhouse. Lots of room and at least 5 editions have been added over the last 200 years period each area has its own charm period we enjoyed the large fields for our 80 pound dog to romp in as well as meal prep around the cozy kitchen with a large kitchen table where the family could gather while we prepared food.
Also great restaurants in nearby Rhinebeck, our favorite was a Thai restaurant as well as a loaf of heavy rye brot bread for morning toast from the local bakery.
If you want lots of room at an informal place to stay this is for you. If you want granite countertops and urban upscale this is not the place to stsy. We found it perfect for our visit and encourage those who want informal living and enjoy 200 year old bit of history to stay here as we did. Comfy overstuffed chars and sofa around a fire, wide board floors with a bit of a slant, fresh air from dozens of windows, wonderful fields to watch pets romp from a shaded bench under an arbour and a large patio were a delight for us. All at a reasonable price.

Mike’s house is a very special spot!
My family and I were itching to get out of the city to have space and see green. The farmhouse was a perfect retreat and met all of our needs including the desire to watch the fireflies.
It’s a great distance from Rhinebeck where we went for dinner and drinks with friends and to wander through the fantastic farmers garden on Sunday.
We all slept very well in comfortable beds and loved lounging around in the several chill out spots.
As mentioned in the description the water pressure is low, but this didn’t really bother us. We ran baths and that was totally fine.
We loved throwing hoops at the basketball court and our dog loved the property and running through the many paths through the wildflowers and down to the pond.
It feels like a dream we had such a great time.

I definitely lucked out on this reservation. My two daughters, my dog, and I visited this charming and very comfortable historic home. It was such a treat to have stayed there and wish we had more time to enjoy all that there was to offer—kids and I loved the ping pong, pickleball, basketball, and great lawn for soccer. Also it is very close to town, so we also spent some time at the nearby village pool, and tennis. We enjoyed the old charm of the classic house—the fireplace in the evening, cooking, and walking the expansive and well maintained property with my dog and young daughters.
The house had everything we needed in terms of appliances. Nice clean open kitchen. Clean, sunny bathrooms. I was reminded that historic homes tend to have slow water but that really wasn’t an issue other than not running a dishwasher or laundry while showering. Sometimes took a few moments for full water pressure to come in for shower, but wasn't really a big deal. It's the country. We just let it rnn for a minute and then it was fine.
Host was very responsive and accessible when we had questions.
Overall, we had such a nice time and really recommend this house. I look forward to coming back and being able to spend more time there, including in fall for foliage and apple-picking and winter for skiing.
