Here’s our story (and it’s a pretty wild one!): In 1973, Jason’s grandpa decided to build a cottage for he and his wife. They decided to retire up in Grey Bruce Peninsula. Harold Fournie took a trailer up to the property and decided to build a structure around it. Jason has been going up there since he was born. He says his most memorable childhood memories took place on this land and in this house. Every summer, his grandpa would add one more room to it. He milled the wood in the garage using trees from the area. There are still sap stains in the garage. Anyway, 25 years ago, his grandparents decided to sell the place and move closer to a hospital as they were getting older. Jason has fantasized about buying a place up there ever since I have known him. Never in a million years did we think that we would be able to purchase the very same place that his grandpa built! There is so much history, so many memories, and now we get to create our own with our own children!

We went to the Haven for 4 days at the beginning of June. We loved the cottage - it was updated and at the same time had some real cottage feel to it. - It was clean and filled with all the necessities you could think of. There wasn’t one thing missing in the kitchen that we needed to use to make our meals. We loved the fact that it had 2 bathrooms - one for my husband and I and one for both adult kids - perfect! It is a nice property on a nice little street which was very quiet and private. The little beach was a short walk just down the road. The water of course was still cold, though nice and shallow. The dogs loved it! Great for water frisbee. Communication with the property manager Nathan was fantastic. His responses to any of my questions were prompt and friendly. I would absolutely book this place again!

The house has a funky layout but it was great that my friends and I each had our own rooms. They were spread out through the funky layout.
