About this house rental

Come enjoy life in California! Our home offers three bedrooms all with queen size beds. Two full bathrooms. Perfect location for commuting north to San Francisco and South to San Jose. Close to Stanford and Silicon Valley high tech companies.

~~~~~~~EXTRA CLEANING MEASURES~~~~~~~~
~~We open all windows and doors to circulate air during all cleanings
~~We disinfect outdoor shoes before coming in the home
~~We clean with cleansers and water and then use a disinfectant
~~We put special focus on frequently touched items such as switches, knobs, remote controls, faucets etc.
~~We wash all linens on hot

~~~~~~~~~~Respecting the Home~~~~~~~~~~~
The VRBO Policy requires that guests show a respect for the home and are expected to leave it in relatively the same condition they found the home. We will dust, vacuum, sanitize, do laundry and prepare the home between guests, but we do not expect our cleaners to pick up after you or a pet or do deep cleaning. If you want to exercise the right to leave a mess, just know that you will be charged for "unexpected cleaning"

~cleaning a greasy stove or baked on oven
~washing dirty dishes
~moving furniture back
~removing odors--because of food, smoke, pets or service animals

~~~~~~~~~~~~ENERGY CRISIS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
California is in an energy crisis. The expectation is that you will conform to the state suggestion for in home temperature maintenance. The thermostat is pre programmed. Winter: between 68-72 daytime, lower at night. Summer: 75-78 in the daytime, nighttime will never be a problem (our temperatures really dip at night, even in summer) If you consume excessive amounts of energy and the bill is more than $10 per day, the excess will be billed separately. In our experience, if people run heaters or A/C at extreme temperatures it could cost an additional $15-$25+ per day.

~~~~~~~~~ABOUT ALL OF OUR HOMES~~~~~~~~~~

~KITCHENS are equipped with all plates, glasses, cups, utensils, pots and pans that you would need. We most often include extras like woks, rice makers, various coffee makers (Keurig type, pot, French press), electric water kettle, toaster, blender etc. If we've missed something, please just ask us.
~BEDROOMS-- you'll find no less than two pillows per person--with a variety of thicknesses and styles. There will always be plenty of extra blankets. We offer fleece blankets, down duvets, down alternative duvets, coverlets, throw blankets. Again, if you're not finding something you were hoping for, just message us.
~CLEANING--we have pledged to pay our cleaners a Silicon Valley Living Wage. We strive to provide a clean home. Our basic cleaning service includes cleaning and sanitizing the home and laundering the sheets and towels. It does not include a daily linen service or a deep cleaning, nor does it include washing mounds of dishes, scrubbing pots and pans, flattening piles of shipping boxes, cleaning a greasy stove with burnt on food, removing food or smoke odors, etc. Extra cleaning or cleaning during your stay is available for $80 for two hours.

You have full access to the entire house. It is for you alone. There is no on-site host living in the home. We do live close by and can be in the home within a few minutes if necessary. Our neighbors are friendly, but we ask that you respect that they live in the neighborhood all the time and appreciate quiet guests.

~~~~~THE HOME HAS A BACKYARD COTTAGE~~~~~
You are not booking the cottage. It is listed separately and must be booked separately. If your stay is less than 31 days, the host will be staying in the cottage. If it is longer, there may be another guest staying there.

~~~~~PARKING~~~~~
If the back unit is occupied and they have a vehicle, they can use the carport for parking and you would need to use the front yard area to park or use the street.

~~~~~GUESTS AND VISITORS~~~~~
Only registered guests are allowed to access the home--no gatherings, parties or events. You can't have extra people in the house, even if they aren't spending the night, unless they are approved before their visit.

~~~~~MAIL~~~~~
You cannot use the home address to receive mail. Using the home address is a step towards trying to establish tenancy and we do not allow that. There are local services where you can rent a PO Box or have packages delivered to an Amazon Locker.

~~~~~ELECTRICITY~~~~~
The State of California expects residents to act responsibly with electricity usage. Our energy costs are high and are tiered--meaning the more you use, the more we are charged per KWh. If we are alerted to excessive and careless energy use, you will be charged for the additional charges. Turn the heat or A/C off when you are not in the home. There is usually no reason to have the heat or A/C on at night.

~~~~~WATER USAGE~~~~~
California is in a drought. Each year it is getting worse. The State leaders ask each of us to do our part to conserve water. What you can do as a guest is some simple conscientious things. Don't leave water running when brushing teeth and shaving, don't take showers longer than 5 minutes, etc.

~~~~~SECURITY CAMERA~~~~~
There is a Wyze security camera with sound, outside the home on the post, near the porch steps, pointed towards the street and the only pathway leading to the entrance of my home. It will be turned on during your stay.
