Great stay and great host! Very clean and comfortable

It was very nice and exceeded my expectations everything was very clean and organized it was very quiet so definitely far from the “party vibe” here. Great value for the money and it’s only a short Uber away from many places! The host very very nice as well she seemed like such a sweet person!

Upscale hostel with extraordinary hosts

MyCrib Houston Hostel is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood close to public transport (1 min walk to nearest bus stop and 12 min to the more frequent light rail). It is a rather small hostel with just three dorms/bedrooms, but what rooms they are! Mine offered full sized bunkbeds with nice bedding, electronic safes, and a huge, upscale bathroom with large shower and separate toilet, everything with tile or hardwood flooring. The common area is spacious, with a large flat screen tv offering Netflix and a full kitchen with a large refrigerator and all required equipment. The hosts, Harold and Cathy, are able to make this place feel like a bed and breakfast by keeping the pantry stocked with basics and really connecting with their guests, offering useful hints and tips aplenty. Besides the other great things Houston has to offer (Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Rodeo...) MyCrib made my 4-night-stay truly memorable. I have done my fair share of hosteling in both Europe and the United States, but hardly ever like this. I highly recommend this place.

Coming to this place is like being at home, the facilities are confortables but above all Cathy and Arnold are great hosts… that place has a very good vibe… thank you for everything

Felt like home. Would stay again.

It’s an up and coming hostel with a nice atmosphere in walking distance from downtown. It’s a house redone, so expect a full sized kitchen for cooking, a dining area and a living room. The hosts are welcoming and helpful.

Super nice and comfortable hostel with the nicest hosts

The hostel was simply amazing. I think I have never been in such a comfortable hostel. It is basically a family house so there is a huge living room with a kitchen that even includes snacks, tee and breakfast. The beds in the dorms are super comfortable and double bed size. Also the bathroom was super nice, big and clean. The neighbourhood is more residential but well connected by bus to other areas like downtown and had some cool bars and restaurants still in walking distance. Last but definitely not least, the hosts Cathy and Harold are super accommodating and gave me some recommendations for things to see.

Great place

Everything. Nice large quiet bed. The bathroom was like a spa. The owners were really great.

I have no complaints. I would've liked to see downtown more? That was my fault though because I loved the neighborhood so much I just never left.

What every hostel should strive for! Great spot in Houston.

Friendly owners, good location in residential Midtown. Its a 20 min / 1.5 mile walk to town. Free parking on site. Relatively quiet. Safe area.

Great, friendly, cozy place to be! Highly recommended!

This hostel makes you feel at home. It is super neat and super cosy and with a beautiful and tasteful interior. It even looks better in real life than on the pictures. And, what is best: The hosts are super caring and genuinely nice and friendly people who help you with any logistic issue which might occur during your journey and who you can have a talk to anytime. Cathy is caring for you like a big sister, so you feel at home very easily. I also met very nice hostel guests there and we had good conversations during diner or breakfast, and with one of them I spent the day at the Nasa Space Center. I might also mention that you get cereals and milk as well as coffee and different kinds of teas for free. The location is right in the center in a neat surrounding and you can reach many sightseeing places and the public transport in only a few minutes. I highly recommend a stay at this place. If I am coming back to Houston, I will surely book this hostel again. This is where you wanna stay.

Je recommande pour ceux qui ont un budget serré sans vouloir rogner sur l'expérience de la ville.

L'accueil de l'hôtel est très facile. Si comme moi vous arrivez tard, vous pouvez tout même accéder aux chambres car toutes les portes possèdent des codes électroniques personnels à chaque voyageur. J'ai partagé ma chambre avec une personne très sympatique. Nous étions donc 2 sur les 6 lits. Les 2 hôtes sont très gentils et bienveillant.

Les chambres sont assez petites. Cela peut ne pas convenir à tous le monde.

Un endroit super tenu par des personnes investis et fort sympathiques

-L’endroit est moderne et l’équipement incroyable - les hôtes, un couple adorable, sont au petit soins pour nous - le prix si bas et le manque de commentaire fait penser à une arnaque, mais c’est juste qu’ils ont ouverts il y a seulement 3 semaines, du coup je leur souhaite plus de visibilité (même si j’aimerai garder cet endroit pour moi!)
