About this cottage rental

Northern Michigan getaway! This cottage has so much to offer! It’s located across the street from the public beach, boat launch, playground, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Short’s Brewery and adorable downtown Bellaire is a 5 minute walk away. A 10 minute drive to Torch Lake and a 6 mile drive to Shanty Creek Resort.

River Beach Cottage is a 3 bedroom 1 bath home with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom and the bathroom on the main level. The Cottage is centrally located near Northern Michigan’s most desirable lakes like Torch Lake, Intermediate Lake and Lake Bellaire, just to name a few. The Cottage is kid-friendly, includes plastic tableware for children and comes equipped with books and board games to keep all ages entertained. Bring your appetite for s’mores and enjoy a family bon-fire around the fire pit. River Beach Cottage is great for all-season activities. In the summer, walk across the street to the public beach or put in the kayaks that are included with the rental, take a drive over to Shanty Creek for a round of golf and stop at Dockside on Torch Lake for dinner. In the fall, come visit for a color tour, stop in for a movie at the old-time theater and curl up on the couch with a glass of wine or some hot chocolate. In the winter, take your skis or snowboard over to Shanty Creek, drive over to Pearls Cajun Restaurant, walk over to the park across the street for ice skating and enjoy Bellaire’s festive downtown area. Don’t forget- any season is a good season to walk down to Short’s Brewery!

Trouble with the internet: The property owner helped reboot the TV internet, but it kept going out. The owner did apologize for the problem of not having a TV and would get it fixed. The cottage was a walk from the so-called beach, which was located across the road, and at the park, the beach was dirty and unable to swim in as pictures show. The cottage was immaculate, the owner supplied everything you would want or forgot. Very cute, did love walking in the park.

We were looking for a place to stay for a few nights near torch lake and we definitely booked the right place! The highlight of our trip was renting a pontoon and going to see the sand bar on torch lake. We really didn’t have much of a plan after that, because our stay was limited, so we messaged the host and she was more than helpful offering many suggestions! We went on an adventure to see the sand dunes and visited transverse city. The cottage had everything that we needed and was very clean! Beds were comfortable too! We loved that there was a park right across the street for the kids! The kids also enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and eating s’mores. We would recommend this cottage and hope to return in the future!

Clean property, great location to restaurants, Glacier Hills for biking/hiking and golf. Property stocked with what you need. Access to shed was great to store our mountain bikes.

I cannot recommend the property strongly enough. 5 stars are well deserved. Location is less than 5 minutes walk to the business/ entertainment center of Bellaire. There is ample parking at the property and a parking lot at the river beach across the street. Neighborhood is quiet. Julia has provided every amenity required for an enjoyable stay and she very well organised and thoughtful. Very ompressive. We will definitely be return renters!! Did i mention the 5 stars!!
