About this cabin rental
*Tahoe is a beautiful and fun place to visit, but occasionally this area can be affected by extreme weather events. While we never want things like icy roads, road closures, or smoke from wildfires to negatively impact our guests, it can happen. We ask travelers to plan their vacation appropriately for the rural mountain climate and encourage guests to research all travel insurance options, as Tahoe Moon Properties cannot provide refunds for things outside of our control.

The good: very close to Tahoe Recreation Area. You can walk there or drive and park, then walk or hike all around. Also close to two grocery stores, lots of restaurants, and Kings beach. Parking is on a little u-shaped driveway, which is great. Lots of windows throughout the cabin and a few ceiling fans keep the air moving. Lots of beds, foldaways, etc., as well as a ton of James Patterson books to borrow for a beach read.
Less good: DVD player not working while we were there and the “guidebook” that the property management company texts to you is generic (I figured this out when they said to start the dishwasher before we leave and there is no dishwasher on the property). It also took us a while to figure out the remotes and TV…a quick laminated guide would have been nice. There are very few electrical outlets (maybe that’s normal?) and the shower upstairs is very small - ladies, do not expect to be able to shave your legs if it’s not a hair washing shower.
This is a general note and has nothing to do with the property we rented: the locals were not very friendly and the food was outrageously expensive and very mediocre everywhere we went ($14 for a root beer float from Mourelato’s Cable Car Ice Cream cart…Lanzo’s was overpriced Italian, we went to Rosie’s for breakfast and the portions were small and the prices were high…after a few hundred dollars, we bought groceries from Safeway and I cooked the rest of the trip). Anyway! I hope this review was helpful.

My spouse, young child, and parents stayed at the cabin for 4 nights. We were able to relax and spent most of our time at the property enjoying meals and board games together and going on walks at nearby trails. We were impressed with the cleanliness and how well setup the property was in general and for cooking. The only critique we had was the lighting. A few bulbs went out in the kitchen. I had to take a bulb from one of the living room lamps. And the lighting over the stove is very poor. Some tips on how to manage the temperature in the house at checkin would also be useful as it took me a few days to figure out when to turn what heat sources on and to what level to balance the temperatures in the rooms.

Great location and neighborhood. The check in process was smooth. The appliances in the kitchen were outdated and the showers were also outdated. The showers are not user friendly for guests above 5’11”. Overall pleasant stay in Lake Tahoe.

We had a fun family getaway in Tahoe and this cabin worked well for our needs. Close to the grocery, clean, tidy and right off the main road around the lake.
The electric wiring system across the three doors and lower windows was a surprise to us when we drove up to the house that first night but it was easy to use and the tiny inconvenience was much better than having a bear drop in unannounced.
The location, the wonderful fireplace and the large windows gave the house a great feel and we would stay here again.

Our stay at this property was a pleasant one. It was clean and well equipped. One small detail I noticed was that dish cloths (the smaller ones) were not provided in the kitchen. Both the days and nights were peaceful and quiet. It was nice to spend time surrounded by beautiful pine trees. The only issue we encountered occurred on the day of our arrival. After unlocking the front door and entering the house, the lock began to malfunction and did not work properly. After contacting the management company, a handyman arrived promptly and fixed the lock. We had no further issues with it. Overall, our experience was very good.

Great place for a stay to see Lake Tahoe

Nice place to stay… what you would expect for a cabin in Lake Tahoe.
Clean and well organized
Only negatives would be the showers are very slow to drain and the lack of electrical outlets…. A couple power strips would make a huge difference
Overall would recommend and we would stay there again

Cabin was what we expected, very cozy. Enjoyed the surrounding area, very close to Kings Beach and main hwy.

Spent five nights in this home, and it was very comfortable for a family of four. The sitting area is large and the TV has cable TV. The kitchen has a table for four and a stove and oven and full-size refrigerator as well as a microwave. There is no dishwasher but there is a coffee maker. If you’d like to cook the bshowers are on the smaller. The downstairs heater works well but the upstairs bedroom you use an electric heater and fan that’s plugged into the wall but keeps the room warm. The upstairs also has a large area with a futon bed and a single bed and an open air type feeling of a room. The main bedroom, which is the nicest bedroom is downstairs and there is a bathroom right next to that room, but no access from the bedroom. Upstairs, both rooms have access directly to the bathroom. There is a lot of snow in the area and it was only enough room to park in one vehicle but it was a large vehicle and it fit easily. It has a very nice deck around 3/4 of the home which makes the home feel very cozy. Overall, we had a good experience I would recommend this place and I would use it again in the future.

This was a perfect cabin for my wife and family. Excellent location. When we received an abundant amount of snow over the weekend, the neighbor even came over and generously used his blower to clear snow from the driveway after seeing me shoveling.

Despite being right off the road, it was quiet inside. Plenty of space for my husband and I. We didn't use the upstairs but it was plenty large enough to accommodate a small family. As stated in other reviews, the kitchen does not have a lot of counter space but it was enough for the two of us. We enjoyed sitting out on the outside deck in the afternoon sunshine. The beds were ok. We both commented that the mattresses were extra firm. We loved being in the woods sharing nature. A lovely cabin in the woods!

We stayed for two nights. We loved the cabin and especially the deck and bbq. Loved being in the trees and walking the neighborhood. Easy access to trails and the beach and shops! We would definitely come back!

Nice small Tahoe cabin with rustic charm. It lacks some conveniences like a dishwasher, washer and dryer, but the recently refurbished outside deck, grill and table are great. Inside floors also re-done but are very slippery with socks. Bedrooms and bathrooms are small, but work. Kitchen could use a few more essential items for cooking, like aluminum foil, but we managed to cook some great meals.
Overall, a very enjoyable place with a great location, close to the lake and other activities. The 24 hour road construction along Highway 28 was a bit of a bummer, but understand summer is work gets done in Tahoe.

Great cabin!! We brought our family up from Rocklin for a long weekend getaway and some cooler weather. There were 5 of us and we all had ample space and were comfortable the entire time. We were not in the cabin much during the day and it took until about 9pm to cool down enough inside with all windows open. Temps at night were perfect without AC. The wood flooring inside is SUPER slick so be very very careful up and down stairs and walking around with socks on as my kiddos slipped several times. We did hear a few little critter feet/paws scampering around in the attic, but it could have also been on the roof - to be expected in the middle of Tahoe!
Great experience, very clean, and would absolutely book again!!

Beautiful property, comfortable, cozy and close to the lake and shopping area. I would love to come during winter time... We will definitely come back again, again and again
4.5
Only one suggestion - Need more comfortable chairs around outside table.
4.5
Cabin feel. Good location to beach and town. No A/C so gets stuffy upstairs although evenings cooled enough for comfortable sleeping. Large deck with BBQ was nice for outdoor lounging. A little short on basic amenities, ie: linens and towels, but our host promptly took care of immediate needs and it was appreciated. As an older cabin there is a shortage of plugs, and very little kitchen counter space if cooking. Overall, good value for the price & location. Thank you for the accommodations ❤
4.5
The cabin is a nice two bedroom, plus an extra loft area with beds. Cozy and functional and the deck is just lovely. Very close to everything you'd need. My only complaint is the beds, the mattresses are extra firm, no give what-so-ever.
4.5
Great little place for a getaway. Within walking distance to the water and driving distance to the slopes. We had a great time relaxing, cooking, and hanging out.
